I know it's over kill, but I've been running adblock and ublock origin on Chrome together for some time without any issues. Yesterday, web pages stopped loading correctly on Chrome until I turned off adblock. ublock origin still works fine alone and I'll probably just only use that from now on, but was wondering if anyone knew why it would just start to have issues now.
I’m trying to watch a past broadcast and I can’t find anything that works. I’ve tried uBlock, AdGuard and several specific Facebook adblockers and nothing works. It’s 2021 almost 2022 and companies don’t realize their predatory advertising interrupting my content makes me want their products infinitely less. There needs to be a setting for people like me to put that shit somewhere anywhere else, just don’t interrupt my videos. It doesn’t help you or me. I digress.
I have Adblock and uBlock on chrome, I hate ads. And paramount+ won't even let you watch ad-free content with adblocker on, is there a way around it?
Even if there was some way around it but does nothing to stop ads then idc I still wanna do it because I don't like when paid services tell me what to do.

I love blocking ads because I feel that the modern web is basically unusable without one. I hear a lot of complaining about how blocking ads deprives companies of revenue. Is it possible to build an ad-blocker that requests the ads from the ad network server (so the websites get paid) but doesn't display them to the user? Does something like this already exist, perhaps as a setting in an ad-blocker plugin? I'm using uBlock Origin, for reference. Thanks!!

I am not picking sides here, some people hate ads, some websites can't survive without ads. Everyone is free to make their own decision.
My point is, a website can easily detect if a user blocks ads. At that point the ad blocking user is at the websites mercy, it can just as easily limit or restrict access to that user.
Why do websites shove tons of ads into our face, but when we use AdBlock, they are totally fine with it?

I have a problem with Luna Adblock. First of all I cannot toggle it on/off in my Settings. The VPN always just reconnects as right after i turned it off.
The other problem is that sometimes TikToks dont load properly or TikTok comments cant be loaded just like i dont have internet.
Any Fixes?
Hi, I not sure if this is the correct sub, but I want to block YouTube ads on my girlfriends TV. She has RCN/TiVo and we run YouTube through that, but the ads are getting ridiculous on it. How can I go about blocking the ads or is that even possible with the current setup?
She's very adamant about using YT through TiVo because it works with her remote, so using a computer as a media player and connecting it to the TV isn't a solution unfortunately.
So I have a laptop with a killed accumulator, so it only works when plugged-in. Most often, I can't be bothered to turn it off so I just unplug it (I know it's not the best practice, but hey, it's convenient). Anyway, I do a lot of starts from prior power failure. The problem is, sometimes when I launch my Firefox after, the adblocker fails to work, especially on YouTube. Sometimes refreshing the page a few times works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes turning it off and on again in extensions settings page works, sometimes it doesn't. I though it was specifically a problem with the adblocker that I was using ("Adblock Plus"), so I took it down and downloaded "AdBlocker Ultimate", but its first day on the job has the exact same result. Any help?
Also, which one of the two would you suggest I use, as a general purpose adblocker?

Apparently there's a Squishmallows sweepstakes that anyone in the U.S. 13yo+ can enter. So naturally I looked into the fine print & was just as disgusted as I always am with companies:
You can enter for free online OR free by mail via postcard, but if you enter via either of these methods, you can only enter once & you can't ever enter via purchase of their collectors cards. MEANING that if you take your 'free entry', & (like most people will do) later enter in a code from their collectors cards (because naturally you'd like some extra entries) you're seen as 'falsifying entries & violating the rules' --- so any earlier entries are automatically disqualified.
What this ends up as is youre automatically disqualified if you a) take your free entry first & later try to get another entry by ANY method or b) you pour hundreds of dollars into their shitty cards while entering dozens of codes & then at any point take that free entry.
Whereas if you pour scores/hundreds of dollars of your money into their shitty trading cards, & never touch that free entry, you stay in the contest the entire time. So effectively NO ONE who takes that free entry will ever win, only the people who buy their way to the prize squish have a chance.
But of course, they're not going to tell anyone that.
& Just in case you think 'Well there's still a chance if I buy my way in, especially if so many people are disqualified!', yeah think again. There's 250 possible winners between now & October of next year, via 250 winning codes in their shitty card packs. Ya know how many packs with codes are going to be circulating?
