| Title says it all. I know, I know.. Kick is awful. However, I just happened to notice that the icon showed 1M and it piqued my interest. It doesn't seem to be slowing anything down or running weird but does that number mean it's currently blocking 1 million ads? [link] [comments] |
A few days ago, Fandom/wikia started somehow bypassing my adblocker (Adblock Pro) on my iphone. I downloaded AdGuard per the suggestion of another user, and it sadly did not change the situation with Fandom. I uninstalled AdGuard since I only need one adblocker, but now the allowlist on Adblock Pro is broken. This is a problem since my allowlist is for sites that hide the entire page if it detects an adblocker, like tv tropes. I assumed it was because I didn't turn off the AdGuard extensions on Safari before uninstalling, so I redownloaded AdGuard to turn the extensions off and then uninstalled AdGuard, but my allowlist is still broken. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Looking for some honest advice on whether I should switch to Google Ads or if the issue is deeper than the platform.
I run a pre-owned iPhone business in South Africa.
On Meta, things look good on paper:
Strong CTR, CPC, and overall engagement
Lots of add-to-carts and checkout initiations
Cheap traffic and solid reach
But conversions are the problem. I’ve spent around R14k total and only got about 6 sales across campaigns. Traffic comes in, people browse, but very few actually complete payment.
What I’m seeing in practice:
A lot of people are interested but don’t end up buying
Many can’t afford the device
A big portion fail BNPL approval
Others want long-term installment plans (12 months+)
It feels more like low purchasing power / low qualification than lack of demand
Business setup:
Competitive pricing for SA market
BNPL + cash options
Warranty, returns, reviews, trust signals, etc.
Limited stock (~15 devices rotating)
Main question: Would switching to Google Ads actually improve this by bringing in higher-intent buyers (people actively searching “buy iPhone 13” etc.), or is this mainly a conversion/affordability issue that will persist no matter the platform?
Would appreciate insights from anyone who’s run both in a similar space.
Can ya'll recommend a method or adblocker to block youtube ads on mobile app cus this shit is driving me insane and i'm NOT paying for youtube premium
Fucking kingshot man
Forgot to say i'm on Android
Like the title says, as the site loads it shows the videos etc. But once it finishes loading the vids, the site goes blank. However, when the ad blocks are off everything works fine
Using edge, windows 11 - issue noticed on 21st June
This only happens in the homepage, if you are quick enough - as soon as the thumbnail appears clicking on a video will show suggestions as normal
If quick enough, the videos load after the 'ad's duration', but everything else works normal
Edit: This issue does not happen in Incognito
As stated. I just installed today. I'm still mostly ad-free it seems, but an ad pops up every few videos.

It seems that the author of the FBPurity browser plugin has disappeared.
Are there any other browser plugins that block ads in the Facebook feed? (and force it to stay in "newest" order?)
This has been annoying me today as I have to look through Instagram archives for something I am looking for and it can only be found there, How do I remove these dumb posts cluttering up my feed?
I have had Adblock for years in everything so it does sometimes feel as if there's stuff I don't know about or at least not until it's mainstream.
So how do yall find out about random things.
And how does Google even have them in their official store?Am I missing something? It's very strange. Sounds too good to be true and someday i guess this will end.
| I can't be the only one who's slightly worried about this (see screenshot ⬇️). I don't question the developer's intentions, but the passwords and credit cards mention did make me question if it was a good idea to keep using this for browsing on Safari. Like, I'm genuinely asking why whenever you post something? The first comment is either the moderator or an ad, like there is a lot of ADS in here..
Built on Brave's open source engine, one of the most comprehensive and consistently maintained block lists in the industry, it works at the DNS level. That means it blocks ads, trackers and malicious domains across every app on your device, not just your browser. No extension required. Toggle it on and it works immediately.
This week Google announced it is disabling real adblockers in Chrome 149. The company that makes the vast majority of its revenue from advertising is removing the tool that blocks those ads from the browser used by 65% of the internet.
The timing is worth noting.
YouTube is completely ruined with ads now. I got an ad DURING a YouTuber talking about his sponsor. We’ve hit ‘ad-ception’. Now it’s mandatory to sign in to watch videos.
Are there any free alternatives to YouTube?

| Well, Google are doing this thing of chasing away people from their ecosystem everyday. I get the point that they make money from ads. But I think they're doing too much forcing it on people, especially in a net where malvertising is somewhat a normal practice. What sense would it make for someone who can't properly browse the net because 60% of real time view is made up of ads, or even pop-ups consisting of fake cancels or no button being yes as well. Guess they care more about revenue that user experience these days smh. [link] [comments] |

Existe algum bloqueador que bloqueie os anúncios na twitch e funcione no firefox? Eu estava usando o pie adblock no chrome, mas ele não tem uma versão para firefox.
Hi everyone, since the CS Major has been going on I wanted to watch some pros give their takes on the matches, so I openedtwitch. The amount of ads I got within a span of 10 minutes sent me on a mission to never watch ads again.
So I built an app for Windows (Linux, Android, and Android TV coming soon) that lets you watch streams completely ad free. I took inspiration from pixeltris's TAS repo and built on top of that idea, except this is a full native desktop client rather than a browser extension. It is free, open source, and all your data stays on your own device. The only time anything leaves is when you log in throughTwitch's own OAuth, so PureTV never sees your password or stores your credentials anywhere.
Repo: https://github.com/dhawal-ss/puretv
Would love feedback, and if anyone wants to contribute the Android and TV builds are already in the repo.
Enjoy and have fun gamers!

ive managed to get this done with ai on homepage and subscriptions but cant get it to work in channels -> videos.
| Hi guys, Just a quick note: English isn't my native language, so I used a translator to help with this post. Hopefully everything still makes sense. If you watch long YouTube videos like lectures, podcasts, tutorials, or deep dives, you're probably familiar with timestamps. They're one of those simple features that make long videos much easier to navigate. At the same time, you've probably noticed that getting to them isn't always very convenient. It's not exactly a huge problem, obviously, nobody's losing sleep over having to click an extra button. But if you want to see the timestamps, you usually have to scroll down, click the tiny "Show more" button, expand the description, and only then can you access them. It's just one extra click and a couple of seconds, no big deal, but it turns out there are plenty of people who absolutely hate unnecessary clicks. The kind of people who are obsessed with productivity, efficiency, and making interfaces as frictionless as possible. For them, even a small annoyance is enough reason to start looking for a better solution. I'm not quite that extreme myself, but honestly, if I can avoid an extra click, I'd rather avoid it. That's basically why I started building this extension. The idea was simple: display the timestamps automatically in a sidebar next to the video as soon as the page loads. Like many side projects, it started as something I built for myself, after using it for a while, I figured other people might find it useful too, so I decided to release it publicly.
So what does Timestamps actually do?When you open a YouTube video, the extension automatically finds all the timestamps in the video's description and displays them in a clean sidebar next to the player. The goal was to make it feel like a native YouTube feature rather than something bolted on afterward. Open a video, and all the chapters are already visible, no scrolling, no opening the description, no extra clicks. Just click the section you want and jump straight to it. If a video doesn't have timestamps, the extension simply doesn't activate. In that case, YouTube looks exactly the same as it always has. No timestamps means there's nothing for the extension to display. A couple of downsides: 1. Desktop only At least for now, it only works on desktop because it's a browser extension. Most people watch YouTube on phones through the official app, where browser extensions aren't really an option. 2. Occasionally things can break This one surprised me when I first released it. YouTube constantly runs interface experiments and A/B tests. Different users can see slightly different layouts at the same time. Because of that, an extension that works perfectly for one group of users might display incorrectly for another. At first I spent way too much time worrying about this until I learned that it's simply part of building tools around a platform as large as YouTube. Whenever I get reports about display issues, I usually investigate them, release a fix, and submit an update to Google. The actual fix often takes a day or two. The review process can take another day or two depending on how quickly the update gets approved. The bonus feature I never planned!!! (This is the reason why I decided to publish this article in this subreddit)While testing the extension, I accidentally discovered something unexpected. Honestly, this little discovery might end up being almost as useful as the main feature itself. Most people aren't exactly fans of YouTube ads. Especially those long ads before a video starts, or the videos that seem to get interrupted every few minutes. During testing, I noticed that if an ad starts playing and I immediately click any timestamp in the sidebar, YouTube jumps forward and the Skip button appears almost instantly. Instead of sitting through 20 or 30 seconds of ads, I just click a timestamp and move on. The interesting part is that this isn't an ad blocker, a hack, or any kind of workaround that modifies YouTube. As far as I can tell, YouTube itself handles the timestamp jump and ends up moving past the ad segment as part of that process. Will YouTube eventually patch this? Maybe. I honestly have no idea, but at the time of writing, it seems to work. The funny thing is that I found this completely by accident while stress-testing the extension and clicking every button I could think of. Now it's become part of my normal workflow. I'm watching a video, an ad starts, I click a visible timestamp, and I'm back to the content almost immediately. The only downside is that it only works on videos that actually have timestamps. When I first discovered this behavior, I considered highlighting it in the Chrome Web Store listing. Then I realized YouTube could change things tomorrow and I'd end up promising something that no longer works. So I left it out of the official description. Still, I thought it was worth mentioning here because it's genuinely useful. I also have a few ideas that might make the experience even better in future updates. Why this feels especially relevant right now?Over the last few years, YouTube has become much more aggressive with ads. At the same time, traditional ad blockers have had a harder time keeping up. YouTube actively detects and limits many of them, and users occasionally run into restrictions or warning messages because of the blockers they're using. Of course, YouTube Premium solves the problem completely, but not everyone wants to pay for another monthly subscription. Who might find Timestamps useful? You might like it if you: · Watch long educational videos and want faster navigation · Frequently jump between different sections of podcasts, lectures, or tutorials · Get annoyed by YouTube ads but don't want another subscription · Like making small improvements to your daily workflow · Enjoy trying new tools and browser extensions If any of those sound familiar, it's probably worth giving it a shot How to install it?The extension is available in the Chrome Web Store and takes about 10 seconds to install. No registration, no account creation, and no email verification required. Just search for: Timestamps – Handy Timestamps Right of Video or use the direct link below 👇👇👇. https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/timestamps-handy-timestam/gjaapmibjaaimjblibkcnehojjnppfhp If you're using browsers like Edge, Opera, or Firefox, there may be ways to install it there as well, although the process is usually less straightforward than it is in Chrome. I haven't tested every browser yet, so if you've tried it outside Chrome, I'd be interested to hear about your experience. Feedback is welcomeIf you decide to try the extension, I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback. Does everything display correctly on your setup? Does the timestamp navigation work as expected? And if you happen to test the ad-skipping behavior I mentioned earlier, I'd be curious to know whether it works for you as well. Questions, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests - i'll do my best to respond and help however I can. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] |
A new security report on CybersecAsia citing the FBI, Palo Alto, and Kaspersky warns that cybercriminals are using the World Cup as a massive threat vector. The FBI has already mapped over 174 fake FIFA portals, Palo Alto is tracking malware hidden inside sideloaded streaming apps, and Kaspersky found that 17% of public Wi-Fi networks have zero encryption. As a enthusiast who focuses on risk management, I know that basic out of the box extensions won't cut it against this incoming wave of malicious ad networks, in app trackers, and aggressive script injections when fans start hunting for live streams.
To build a proper margin of safety, I am tuning my ad blocking setup by layering advanced anti phishing lists to kill those fake domains and using strict dynamic filtering to intercept malicious redirects before they execute. I have also pushed my Smart TV and streaming boxes onto an isolated media VLAN so that even if a sketchy stream slips past a cosmetic filter, the threat is sandboxed away from my personal PC and financial data. So, how are you guys updating your filter, custom scripts, or uBlock rules to handle the World Cup traffic?
My browser is a few years out of date and every ad blocker i look for either won’t run (downloaded through play store) or i can’t even download because my browser is old (extensions on chrome web store). so In the last few months Youtube has been getting a bunch of updates and one seems to let them know when you are using an adblocker. Lately I have been getting lot's of these pop ups on youtube telling me they can see im using an adblocker and that I should Buy Youtube Premium. but today i get a pop up over my video telling me that I had 3 chances to either turn off my adblocker for youtube or buy youtube premium or they would block video packages from being sent to my IP or something. so I turned off my Adblocker for now but im looking for any advice on how to fix this.
if it matters, Im using Opera GX as my browser and Im using the Opera Adblocker as my adblocker. should I Use a different Adblocker or switch browsers or something?
I realize its more than its worth to me to go all out with network blocking of ads, esp youtube ads for my Roku tvs so i found a simple solution that keeps me from having to listen or see the ads.
It doesnt block the ad, as you still have to wait for it to finish but I dont have to hear nor see anything but a few seconds, all I do is once an ad starts, i mute the tv then hit the option button and push the *up* arrow (EDIT srry i said down by mistake) once to select the "Picture off" selection and then i wait a minute or so and then push the ok button and either hit skip or the ad will already have played through.
Sure its not skipping the ad, i cannot stand ads but i know how ad revenue works so I figure since the ad plays through, youtube still gets paid and I dont have to sit through any of the bs.
Not sure how ACR works but i figure the picture off setting doesnt block what it recognizes since its on the hardware end so youtube thinks the ad was served.
I use this on other apps sometimes but not nearly as much as i do with youtube, their ads are the worst.
*This obviously struck a nerve, i originally posted this to the Roku forum and it got removed within hours. If this is helpful to you pls repost this everywhere its relevant rofl.

Any help or insight from people who've dealt with this would be appreciated. What's actually working for blocking Facebook ads on Chrome right now?
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm really tired of ads on YouTube and twitch so I'm finally looking for a good ad blocker for my phone (Samsung Galaxy A16 specifically)
I'd look for it myself but I'm tech-illiterate and stupid so I don't even know where to start. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I watch live TV via bloomberg.com. They had an absolute ton of ads and they are routinely the same ads 2x in a row. Is there a way to automatically mute the ads? I know with Pluto On-Demand you can block them, this is a different beast. This is a live show.
I also use Charles Schwab's software Think or Swim and it will mute ads for CNBC but I can't listen to that channel anymore - just horrific but I really do like that feature.
edit: I watch via Chrome but I could use a different browser. If this is a stupid question, just delete it - sorry.

I can't take it anymore. Youtube ads have been shit for a while, but now it's beyond just being shit and it's becoming unbearable. I can't watch a video longer than 10 minutes without getting like 6 ads, sometimes less than 2 minutes aparts.
Can someone please recommend me an adblocker, preferably one for free?

I’m trying to look at something on Imgchest on my phone via Safari, and lately every minute — literally, I swear it’s on the dot — it’s redirecting me to some ad.
Is there any way to stop it? Most of the tips I found look like they’re for computer.
Hey, since today, the two adblockers I alternate with do not work on my opera browser (and the opera adblocker doesn't work as well)
I know I could switch to brave/firefox, but I like to have the video in a small window when I'm doing something else (no second screen on a laptop). So if you know another adblocker that still works, I am interested in it.
If not, I'll switch to watching videos on Brave until they update it.
Thank you!
I just bought my first ever GoogleTV and the experience is quite nice but the amount of ads, in particular on Prime and HBO is abysmal. How do yall go about preventing ads? Adblockers? DNS? What works!
it will never be paid, ever.
Also. it has a "few" extra features:
- Blocks malicious redirects
- Stops malicious code from running
- Stops phishing attempts
- Blocks auto email subscribe when opening a page.
- Has built in antivirus (you should have seen this coming from the first 2)
- Is an app
only pay is that it takes 1% of your ram and storage and stuff and sends it to my bare metal server host so everyone can afford a server regardless of economic class or place. as my server host is free.
The code will be open source (read only) on the website once it launches.
what do yall think, should i add anything else before launch
So I have been watching a lot of streams on totalsportek website but many of you might know there are a lot of ads there, can you recommend me some good adblockers for it, better if they are free of cost
I use uBlock Origin, Adblocker Plus, and Opera's built-in adblocker interchangeably (like when one doesn't work, I'll use another.) None of them are working anymore. Specifically YouTube. Adblock Plus is automatically adding YouTube to it's allowed listed websites, even though I've been deleting it. uBlock just isn't working, and neither is Opera's built-in adblocker.
Is there any way around this, or am I screwed for the time being?
So I got a youtube app loaded on my firestick that doesn't play ads.
When I do want to watch twitch, I have alternative twitch viewer currently which loads a slightly lower quality stream during ad breaks. But I'd like a solution for fire stick. I'd also like to know solutions for installing on a pihole or otherwise a site wide solution for when I get a raspberry pi
hey so i just got a new browser (librawolf) and i cant seem to find pie adblock for it can someone help?
What ad blocker Chrome extensions are relatively easy to install and will work on YouTube and Facebook marketplace? Up until yesterday, everything worked great. Now I am getting YouTube ads displayed even with AdBlock switched on and annoying little videos when I'm browsing around for stuff in marketplace. Help would be appreciated, thank you!
i was just wondering what adblocker i should get for chrome since i've seen mixed opinions on which one is the best
also i know switching to firefox is better but i don't want to do that right now
Ublock not working on youtube opera anyone have a solution please ?
Good morning, I am using Firefox on my desktop with Ublock. I don’t mind waiting a couple of seconds for video with no ad.
But recently I have not been able to use playlists. When I try to use a playlist I have put together or an existing one, the first song or 2 will play and than, YouTube will just play whatever it decides to play next, completely exiting the playlist.
Has anyone run into this issue?
Thank you!
I've just found that Brave Browser is allowing some ad domains through even though I have aggressive DNS and blocking on my network.
This can be proved by:
Running ad block tests such as https://adblock.turtlecute.org/
See that all Doubleclick ads are failing the block test as well as one of the Google ads domains.
Now turn OFF Brave Shields up, or set Brave to "Allow all trackers and ads", the page refreshes, and those categories are now totally blocked by DNS!
Brave must be using their own DNS blocking to allow domains like this on my network. Has anyone experienced this and have a workaround? I'm guessing maybe if I block whatever DNS server Brave uses might do the truck but haven't dove in yet.
I'm just shocked by this, Brave is obviously getting some google money here with these shenanigans, and this definitely reduces my trust in Brave, after happily converting from Firefox a few years ago.

I posted a detailed audit of dead blocklists in r/nextdns, and instead of engaging with the data, the moderators simply deleted the post. Since they seem unwilling to discuss this, I'm bringing the technical facts here to get a community perspective.
Please clean up dead and outdated privacy/adblock lists (Detailed List)
"Hello NextDNS Team,
First of all, thank you for a great service. However, many users have noticed that the Privacy and Security tabs in the dashboard are cluttered with completely outdated, abandoned, or even empty blocklists.
Having lists that haven't been updated in years defeats the purpose of modern privacy protection and can even cause issues. I took the time to go through the dashboard and manually compile a list of outdated or broken blocklists that should be removed or replaced:
☠️ Completely Dead / Empty Lists
• Fanboy's Enhanced Tracking List (Empty, 3 years)
• 1Hosts Mini (Empty, 1 year)
• 1Hosts Pro (Empty, 1 year)
• Energized Spark / Blu / Blue Go / Ultimate / Extreme Extension / Regional Extension / Basic (All empty, \~4 months since abandonment)
❗Outdated / Abandoned Lists (2 to 6+ Years without Updates)
• Disconnect Ads / Malvertising / Tracking (6 years old)
• NSA Blocklist (6 years old)

Hi everyone, can anyone help me?
Music from the playlist stops playing at 0:01- 0:02 whether the page is on the screen or not, or it simply jumps to the next unsaved music track without any form of indication, after playing the saved track (regardless of its position in the playlist).
I use the Firefox with uBlock Origin, NoScript, and Privacy Badger installed. What should I do to get rid of YouTube's latest attempt to combat ad blockers?
Hi everyone,
I've been using the Adguard Premium Mod from Liteapks on all my Android devices for ages without any issues.
Today, I wanted to update the app on my FireTV Stick. I uninstalled the old version, downloaded the latest release from Liteapks, and installed it via atvTools.
However, the app suddenly doesn't recognize the patch/certificate anymore and asks me to purchase Premium.
What I've already tried:
The strange part: The exact same new version works flawlessly on my Android smartphone. Also, my FireTV Cube (which is still running the older version) works just fine.
Has anyone encountered this issue with recent updates on FireOS, and is there a workaround or a specific version that still works?
Thanks in advance!
On my laptop I use uBlock Origin and it works perfectly.
But on Android, ads in the official YouTube app are annoying.
What are the best working methods right now to watch YouTube without ads without buying Premium?
| "An error has occurred. Please try again later." Since yesterday, my U-Block doesn't seem to be working anymore, resulting in the video constantly buffering. So I'm forced to disable it for this site. Could someone help me with this? [link] [comments] |
I'm trying to stop adblock from blocking ad on Snoops and a few other sites like Bored Panda but am unable. I click on the icon in the upper right and click on this website (the blue dot). Both this website and this page vere to left and go gray. Then I click on refresh this page. But that doesn't work. So I click on the icon again and I can watch it going from allowing to vering over to the left and not allowing.
What's up anyone know? Bored Panda, if I do that about 4 or 5 times it will finally allow ads. Not Snoops. Frustrating, hoping someone can help with this.
I use Google Chrome and Adblock Plus with Premium.
I was using NextDNS free tier on device level (not router) to block ads. Do i need that? Should I use a faster DNS instead?
How do i login using the windows app? i can see only option is to activate license or create an account. no login option
On android there is no adguard app on playstore. But found that on samsung store. Is that legit?
If i bind license to a device and reset that device, do i have to remove that license and bind again? or is it still attached with hardware ID or Mac
Half the videos I look at just say "an error occurred. please try again later". the problem videos work fine on edge with no adblocker
