Is there a way to block ads and automatic apps download on my parents’ Android phones?
They mostly got random apps installed by random clicks on ada while watching YouTube (no premium)
I personally don’t use Android, but I heard people boast about its customizability so I was wondering what is the work around to avoid accidental app installation AND malware prevention on the elderly phones (Samsung and OPPO)

Twitch pausing streams if you have Ublock Origin turned on
Doesn't matter which stream, it keeps pausing the stream if you ublock origin is turned on.

Video Lite not working
I use video lite because I really hate YouTube ads on mobile (who doesn’t). And on some videos, it just shows a black screen where the video should be with no audio yet the bar indicates the video is playing? Is there something wrong on my end?

How to fix AdNauseam in Chrome?
Today I noticed that the AdNauseam extension was disabled in my browser. I use Chrome. In the past, I managed to make it work by enabling extensions with legacy manifests in Chrome flags. However, today I couldn’t find that flag anymore. Has anyone managed to get AdNauseam working in some other way? Thanks!

Any new ways to bypass uBO on Chrome 140.0.7339.208?
I had it working until the newest update. I enabled m138, m139, mv2, and put the "
--disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled" on the end of target in the shortcut. Despite all this, it's no longer working on the newest update. Any new ways to enable it?
If I can't get it working again then I suppose it's time to finally jump ship to another browser, cause fuck Google in every conceivable way. Their company deserves to burn to the ground.

Game Ad being blocked…
I have Adblock installed on my iPhone with iOS 26 installed and with all the extensions enabled, and I’ve noticed that when I play several games (Actual applications, not in Safari) developed by Shallot Games, I cannot view the short videos for ads in the game. I’m not 100% sure that it’s not something in the OS that’s preventing the ads from loading, but I’ve checked as many options that I know of, and nothing stands out as suspicious or with the potential to be an Ad blocking issue.
Is it possible that the games are calling to Safari to run their ads in-game and Adblock is preventing them from loading? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Any advice would be appreciated.

Can I enable uBlock again on Chromebook?
I just updated my Chromebook (yes, I know, it's a shitty piece of tech) and it has completely disabled uBlock. I had enabled the legacy extension flag and uploaded the uBlock folder as an extension, but those options are gone. I don't have any other laptop devices, so I can't switch to Firefox. Is there any way to fix this?

Got less ads on YT immediately after googling ad blockers?
Every time i watch YouTube past midnight, ads start showing up every 5 ish minutes. It's been over 2 months of this and i started looking up ways to block them. As soon as i started googling ad blockers I stopped getting ads for like 20 minutes. Did same thing the next night, same result. Wtf? Gunna do the same thing tomorrow, but I'm definitely getting an ad blocker either way. I’d normally say it’s a coincidence but that’s never happened until the first and second day i tried this.

How to undo a block?
Adblock, Chrome. I was getting really annoying ads on Sporcle for a recently-deceased political propagandist, so I tried right-clicking & blocking just that element, but I accidentally blocked the quizzes themselves, so now the site is unusable. How do I undo that?
EDIT: Never mind, after being led on a wild goose chase by someone else's guide, I finally found my filter list & figured out how to delete the most recent entry.

Need to block FB Sponsored Ads
I use Facebook on my laptop most of the time so I've been fortunate that I've been able to easily get rid of ads and unwanted content. I was using a combination of Adblocker Ultimate and Ublock Origin Lite and I was seeing NO sponsored ads/posts. It looks like FB has caught up and figured them out and now I'm seeing the sponsored ads/posts and I hate it. Apart from FB Purity, what else works? I tried Adblock Plus and it's not getting them all. And I tried Total Adblock (I think that's what it's called) and that was annoying because they have little popups that show up - which is like they do ads for themselves.
BTW - I use Chrome. I'm not really a fan of other browsers.

Hi ich benutze Wipr als Adblocker für Safari, aber mittlerweile funktioniert der nicht mehr, weil Youtube es gemerkt hat und blockiert dann das Video. Hat jemand eine Ahnung wie ich das umgehen kann, weil hab dafür Geld ausgegeben und keine Lust mir jetzt wieder was neues zu suchen. Please help!!! I used adguard to block mobile game ads and now i cant open ads to get free stuff
I play freemium ad based games to get fake money on another game i play. I thought i could get around yhe ads and get the free revives and what not but now the ads dont load but i also dont get to have the rewards. Please help! I tried everything it feels like. I disabled dns i uninstalled the adbl oker aftwr disabling it and the ads are still blocked. I cleared the cache i evem reset all my wofi bluetooth and network settings. I need to reenable ads!!!

Youtube videos have trouble loading?
When I use adblocks to watch youtube, the video is often preceded by 5 to 6 seconds of a loading screen. I tried using brave after seeing the pinned post, it seemed to have removed that issue until I logged into my account with google where it seemed to have followed me. I'm guessing youtube flags accounts using them adblocks, while they're annoying, it's certainly not annoying enough to watch ads. All the same I'd like to see if I can fix it or find something that minimizes it, has anyone else encountered this or found a work around?

[Guide] How to Re-enable uBlock Origin on Chrome (MacOS, Chrome 138/139/140)
Like a lot of people, I was frustrated when Chrome disabled Manifest V2 extensions like uBlock Origin. Most of the guides out there are written for Windows (shortcut method with chrome.exe), but this one is for Mac users.
I just got it working again on macOS, so here’s a step-by-step:
1. Close Chrome completely
Quit Chrome (⌘ + Q). Make sure it’s not just the window, but the whole app.
2. Test it quickly in Terminal
Open Terminal and run:
/Applications/Google\ Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled This will launch Chrome with the right flags. If you already had uBlock Origin installed, it should re-enable.
3. Make it permanent (Automator App)
Typing in Terminal every time is annoying. Instead, make a little app you can click like normal:
- Open Automator → New Document → choose Application.
- Add Run Shell Script.
- Delete the default
catand paste this:/Applications/Google\ [Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\](http://Chrome.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\) Chrome --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled - Save as something like
Chrome with uBlock. - Drag it to your Dock for easy access.
4. Give it the Chrome icon (so it looks normal)
- Go to Applications → right-click Google Chrome.app → Get Info.
- Click the icon in the top-left → press ⌘ + C.
- Do the same for your new Automator app → click its robot icon → ⌘ + V.
- Boom: it now looks like Chrome.
5. (Optional) Remove the “real” Chrome from your Dock
Right-click the original Chrome icon in your Dock → Options → Remove from Dock.
That way you only use your new, patched one.
Notes
- This workaround may break again when Google removes more flags in future Chrome versions.
- You need to always launch Chrome using your Automator app (or a Terminal alias) for uBlock to stay enabled.
- Works on macOS Sonoma & Chrome 139/140 (tested).

Ad blocker for streaming apps on iPhone

It's what it sounds like. I had adblocker and ublock origin. Uninstalled adblocker and kept ublock on. Using Opera GX. I could've sworn there was tech where you could hit the share button and watch youtube that way but I'm not sure it works anymore.

Ad Block Ultimate blocking everything
Technically it was still an ad blocker, but today Ad Block Ultimate (using firefox) was blocking a lot of websites. Among others I could not start jupyter notebook it would just leave me on a blank page, jupyter labs had conncetion issues when trying to open a notebook, slackbot couldn't load and for some reason no comments in github feeds were loading (which made finding what the problem was a lot more annoying as I could only see the quesions of a lot of users on Github but not the solutions)
I hope this will be fixed quickly.

Youtube ads preventing video from being paused in miniplayer(mobile) is this just me?
Noticed a while back on mobile where with miniplayer on phone, I no longer get the option to pause, skip, or x out of it. Didnt think much of it besides it being annoying for music till just now when I got an ad and realized I couldn't auctally remove it. I couldn't even go into the youtube app and x it through the miniplayer in youtube, I had to physically fully open it to pause it in youtube just to get it to stop playing, and even then i couldn't x out of the video in any way (miniplayer or otherwise) until the ad was over. Is this just me or are yall also having this issue? Is there a good adblock these days for mobile?

Running Android 13, and I've used AdGuard and AdAway for blocking ads in apps, but I'm not sure which one is more reliable long term. I also tried Blokada for a while but noticed some issues with notifications not coming through. What is the best ad blocker that i can use ... for example to block in app ads without rooting? there are lots of type of comment bots but here are the most common
name: most comment bots I see are trying to find your name lots of YouTubers can stop people from typing their name in the comments so the bots blurt out names and take one away each time until it gets narrowed down to one name so if your name was max they would say max Sam Jim tom Jacob sammy bob thomas George Mia if that didn’t pass through they would take away names until it did YouTubers should type in a few more names than there actual name to avoid this.

Year: comments like anyone else in 1547 or 2064 I don’t know what their real purpose is though but I thing the links on the sides are just for fake YouTube channels like one in 2021 that had lots of concerning faces of people, in penguin masks I think this channel got hacked that channel was blocked on YouTube the bots links are still leading to the channel it must be a fake website
There are lots more comment bot types that I haven’t explained yet my theory is that this is all part of a big sting operation or lots of ai tools that have malfunctioned

Adds are getting stupid
i just got 10 1 minute adds on a Peter sripol video that was 10 minutes thats an add every two minutes when do they decide they have had enough I'm seeing two unskippable ads before short videos, and sometimes mid-roll ads are dropped into videos that are barely 5–6 minutes long the adds are so repetative that I once got five of the same add in a row this is so overkill and they can make the adds so bad because theyve sort of got a monopoly the most concerning thing is this crypto currency junk that says I’ll get 10000 dollars if i click theyre link also when someone makes a youtube video against adds it gets age restricted so the chance of people seeing this is ten times worse they are trying to force users into paying for premium and in premium lite they trick you buy saying fewer adds when actually there’s the same amount

I often need to sleep with videos playing in the background - but the ads wake me up every-time, and now with YouTube putting them on people’s videos even if they don’t want them, nothing is safe.

New Prompt!?!?
I've been getting some a weird new prompt on Youtube lately. The first time it happened, was a few weeks ago; I got a message saying to sign in and prove I wasn't a bot on youtube several weeks ago on my Ipad app. I got that same message again 2 days ago on my Ipad, and just now on my laptop(never happened here before).

Here is the best AdBlocker for you: has anyone tried Goodtube vs uBlock Origin?
Been running uBlock Origin for years but YouTube keeps detecting it on Chrome lately. Tried AdGuard for a while but some ads still slip through, and the detection popups are getting annoying. uBlock Origin - how to get uBlock Origin back permanently

After you've downloaded it you must go into your settings on your computer And type in services and disable auto update, afterwards you must go to task scheduler and disable auto updates there as well.

Youtube anti adblocks specific account

Recently I have run into the issue where I get an anti adblock message when using my personal youtube account (see pic related). I use Brave + Ublock origin. However I the adblock and youtube works fine when I log out or go into incognito, therefor I assume youtube flags my account specifically for adblock. When i turn all the adblock off everything works as expected so it must pick up my adblock use somehow. Is there any way to circumvent or fix this? [link] [comments] |

How do I delete an iPhone adblocker
A few months ago I downloaded an adblocker onto my iPhone but now it’s messing with some tv show websites that I don’t want it interfering with, but I can’t figure out how to delete it. I don’t know where to go on my phone to find it so if you guys could gimme a few suggestions then that would be amazing. Thanks.

youtube app on samsung tv
i use brave browser because i can’t fucking stand ads (i also can’t stand the samsung tv) like i have zero tolerance for them but i really want to be able to watch youtube on my tv. i thought since i use brave if i just cast from my browser to my tv it would bypass ads but of course they still show up somehow on my tv and it’s buggy
i just found a youtube tutorial where this guy said to uncheck agree to all these ad settings on the samsung tv and every comment was going on about how it worked but it didn’t work for me.
is there a way?
