Adblock seems to make loading of YT vids extremely slow resulting in a 15-second black screen with sometimes a "skip ad" button after it.
Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this or is there anyone that is having the same problem recently?
Doesn’t work anymore by the latest IOS update. Tried downloading and installing everything again but no luck. Anyone got anything else I can try? Must beable to block YT videos etc
After a short research this is what I found so far:
Best DNS level Adblocking: NextDNS / Adguard DNS 2.0
Best system-wide endpoint level Adblocking: AdGuard / Blokada / StopAd
Best browser Adblocking: Brave Browser / uBlock Origin
Best self-hosted Adblocking: Pi-Hole / AdGuard Home
Are there any other recommendations worth checking out?
What do you think is the best combination for blocking advertisements on all levels and devices, including various end devices such as smart TVs and so on.
AdGuard for safari doesn't work with Youtube anymore. Has anyone else experienced this? Also what are some superior alternatives?

Many people (and I'm assuming everyone in this community) think that ads are "bad" or problematic; I am genuinely curious to hear people's main reason for implementing ad blockers.
(Is it to protect against mal-advertising? Is it because ads eats your device's data? Is it because you consider them distracting? Something else)?
Interested to see what seems to be the largest reason or if there are some alternative/obscure reasons.
I've got a moto g7 and I'm trying to prevent YouTube ads. So far I've tried "AdLock" as well as "AdGuard" and in both cases, after installing and flipping the On switch, and then opening a YouTube music playlist, ads still played. Am I doing something wrong, and/or is there a simpler universal ad-blocking solution for mobiles?
(Maybe worth mentioning that I'm not very tech savvy with smartphones. Blocking ads seems an easier task in e.g. Chrome on PCs: just install AdBlock Plus and it works universally. On a smartphone however, I'm a little lost.)

twitch.tv adblock for midroll ads as ttv ad-block doesnt work after preroll ads for some reason ( keep this off before u click on a stream and when u are in the stream turn it on )

i tried ABP, and uorigin and both of them make the video player go black during the ads and i cant skip it. refreshing does nothing, video only plays with adblock disabled

Promoted, because you visited, similar to, popular videos, because you've shown interest, popular on reddit, the list goes on... It's truly ridiculous how much bullcrap there is! I just want to see the subs I actually follow, instead of 50% being idiotic recommendations. Me angery.

If I want to buy something, I go to the store or look for it online. Don't want my innocent eyes exposed to this tumor-ridden invention. Ads have started showing up (Twitch and Youtube).
Been using Chrome, but ads started showing up. Switched to OperaGX and turned on the adblock there, but it's still showing up.

I have Adblock+ and Ublock installed. Twitch was working just fine with ads for a while, but since a couple days ago it looks like it has found a way to bypass my adblocking add-ons.
It's fucking irritating watching a streamer pulling off a sick play then.....bam! 3 ads in a row starts playing for no reason. That shit is so obnoxious that I just close the tab and I am no longer interested.
Installed ublock, worked for like a week then stopped, tried AdBlock, worked for like a week, then stopped, and tried a twitch adblocker and same thing, worked then stopped. Has anyone found a reliable way to block ads on Twitch that sticks?
What exactly is the difference? Everything online says they’re almost identical. Also, do both offer the premium subscription, and if so, are the premium benefits the same?
I was using adguard dns but noticed my speed dropped so turned it off. DNS test says that my ping for adguard is 20ms and current dns is 1ms - would this difference even be noticeable?
Also, is there a way to connect to public wifi while using adguard dns? (or any others)
For some reason - the IP address my AdBlock listens on changes. Occasionally it'll be a list with two IPv4 addresses and 2 IPv6 addresses, other times it'll be a single IPv4 address (which doesn't play nicely since I use IPv6).
Is there something off with my configuration? Running it on Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 4.

Hey everyone Sepcially iOS users. my android phone is broken, I've always been an android user and usually I root my devices and utilize Adaway on them. right now I am considering to switch to an iPhone, and the only thought that holds me back is adblocking. is anyone hereusing DNS adblocking profiles? how well do they do. I know I won't have the ads removed from youtube but in the other apps. does it work well? I really like to hear some feedback from long-term users.
I'm on mobile and I use a custom DNS with various block lists.
Sometimes I come across a site that demands me to switch off my adblock security. It's annoying.
Rather than enter the arms race, is there a list of these sites somewhere and a way to delete them from coming up in Google search results.

I'm looking for an ad blocker that I could download on my Samsung phone that would block ads on the YouTube app. My options on the play store are limited and don't look super trustworthy to me, or they only work on browser apps (I use Firefox and they have the built in adblocker extensions). I'm ambivalent about using something downloaded from a website for obvious reasons, any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a chrome user and have used ad block, ad block plus, ublock origin, total adblock, almolst every ad blocker you can think of and I STILL get ads as if I don't have the extensions enabled. I did all the tricks, turned off acceptable ads, cleared cookies and cache, and I even tried using Microsoft Edge and still recieved ads on Twitch and YouTube. Adblock Plus was the first ad block I used and it was fine, then it just stopped working months ago. I'm in dire need of an ad block solution lol

I don't get the main ads that play before videos but I just found one above the recommendations area telling me about singles in my area.
I'm using uBlock Origin with a bunch of extra filters from [filterlist.com](filterlist.com)
also im using SponsorBlock to skip through parts of the video itself.
Im also using RequestControl with extra filters and LocalCDN
also im about to start using NoScript on top of the ones I already have, because apparently even ublock and all the other shit isnt enough to beat youtube.
SponsorBlock doesnt work for me anymore. Not sure if its just my browser.
So I was just curious if youtube is getting better at defeating these adblockers, or if there have been anything thats changed with adblocking in general and if you have any tips.

I’m not sure if thats the best one to use, I only used it because Adguard had sent me an email stating how better this protocol is. However, since using this protocol I can’t seem to update filters while the local VPN is connected, I always have to turn off Adguard then update the filters and turn it on again. I’m not seeing the same issue when I changed the DNS to DNSCrypt. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all!
Brave mobile adblocking is sub par compared to fennec with ublock. To even the playing field I enabled some additional filters. Plus I enabled cosmetic filtering in brave:flags.
I already have vpn adblocking from a hosts file on netguard.
With all that being said. It is still subpar.
That is where filterlists.com comes into play.
What are some custom filters you have implemented that made a BIG difference. To make it powerful like ublock.
Currently Brave's adblocking doesn't even block reddits ads/proms.

I've recently noticed I'm getting ads on my youtube vids which has normally been blocked in a number of apps. They're still installed but I'm still getting ads on Youtube. They are: 1. Adblock for Youtube 2. uBlock Origin Anyone else experiencing this, or have any advice? Thanks
