Is YouTube sneakily avoiding AdBlock?

Hello, about 15 or so days ago, which is 15-11-2022 for context, I have noticed that my YouTube videos have been buffering for too long, it takes like 30 seconds even on a 1:02 minute video.

I have good, stable internet, 100mbps or some such and I play videos at 720p.

My browser is Firefox, I use uBlock Origin, never failed me.

Does anyone have any good information about this issue? Or well, tell me if you also have this problem.

Adblocker for twitch ios app

Hi

As the title says, im looking for any suggestions on how to once again block twitch ads on the ios app. There was a tweak that used proxy to bypass ads, but that no longer works as of two weeks ago. There was also a method i used for years where you could change some values in the app with a tweak called flex 3, which worked flawlessly, but stopped working a few years ago. Any suggestions on tweaks that still work? I am jailbroken so i can access tweaks on cydia etc.

Un-cringe your linkedin feed with this extension

Hey guys, I've made something cool and wanted to share it with y'all

We all can agree that linkedin is cringe af; linkedin feed to be exact. The story of how "CaptainSelfless" helped a homeless man who then turned out to be his boss in disguise and promoted him to VP is total bullshit, boring, and uninspiring.

The most productive people who use linkedin only use it for search, jobs, and messages. They wish and pray for a way to block all the nonsense on their feed so they can work undistracted. Well, that's exactly what I've built- a chrome extension so powerful, yet so simple, that will 'un-cringe' your linkedin feed by blocking/hiding all posts on your homepage. It's name you ask? "Sick of Linkedin".

You can find it here:- https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sick-of-linkedin-feed-blo/geocoiihhakjokjcjojbemfkpggcmfeh

We don't collect any of your data or cookies or any of that nonsense. Do check it out. Leave a review if you like it, or dislike it. I'll be happy to hear your thoughts in the comments. Cheers!

Stop pop-up adds on LG smart tv web browser

Are there any adblockers for smart tvs? I don't mind homescreen ads, it's the ones that pop up when I try to stream anything on the web browser app. For example on buffstreams when trying to watch the world cup. Alternatively is there anyway to get a better browser like chrome? I'm not sure if smart tvs work the same as laptops but there's got to be some way of blocking pop up ads. Thanks in advance

Any Twitch Adblockers that work as of this week?

The ad blockers I have been using for months have stopped working recently, now the stream just pauses and you can’t do anything about it

Any recommendation for ad blockers? I wouldn’t use one but 6 unskippable ads in a row every 30 min is just crazy.

Block lists for security

I’ve built a couple of free services that may be interesting to this community; - Block lists for newly registered domains - Block lists for emerging and ongoing threats

I know this isn’t for everyone and these aren’t the core function of the software this community is built around, but these may be of use to some of you if you’re concerned about security.

In the enterprise world, it has become common to use threat intelligence data to prevent traffic from suspected and known compromised servers, services, IPs and networks from being able access or influence business assets.

Enterprise and business aren’t the only entities that can benefit from this, though. Even as a home user I would advocate the use of security software, and a layered approach is always best.

The data comes from multiple sources, which is verified and aggregated into single easy to use feeds.

Questions, comments and general feedback is always welcome - I’ll do my best to make responses as quickly as I can.

The sites are at; - https://nrd-list.com - https://threat-list.com

White Ads on Youtube Videos help

I cannot get rid of the absolutely blank ads that cover the bottom of the screen. I've tried using Ublock origin but it hasn't worked. I hope to get rid of these types of ads or at the very least restore the contents of the ad so I can close it.

Working (11/16/22) Adblock for Hulu

Hi yall, just wanted to put this out there for the people who can't/won't buy the ad-free version of Hulu. I found a chrome extension that mutes and skips all video ads on Hulu. As far as I know, it works great for Chrome. I'm unsure if you can get it on Opera or otherwise. Anyhow, do with this what you will.

Youtube not loading because of AdBlock on Firefox

So i found out that its my addblock causing the problems for (and ONLY) Youtube not loading for some time (after some time the picture for "no network connection" pops up) and then i have to wait some time for it to world properly again for only limited amount of time. It only happens on one pc i have, regardless of network and regardless of what adblocker i use (i tried AdBlocker Ultimate and uBlocke Origin and i didnt mess with any settings) and it happens on Firefox which is up to date and im using Windows 7, but this probably isnt the cause as this started happening on one random day last year.

Any solutions? Thanks!

Allowing adblock on specific pages?

This is specifically for youtube. I usually allow ads but sometimes there are longer videos I keep on in the background that are filled with ads and I can't seem to find a way to just block that specific page. Deleted Adblock and downloaded Adblock Plus doesn't seem to have any options, and couldn't find any help about it online, seems you can disable ads on specific pages but you can't allow adblock on specific pages.

Are there any blockers that stop videos that pop out as you scroll a page?

Comicbook.com was my final straw. I have, never once, been interested in imbedded videos that begin playing on their own. Let alone those that that follow beyond scrolling past them.

I know this falls outside what constitutes "AdBlocking", but the behavior of these videos is every bit as undesired as an advertisement (for their own site).

Which ad blockers are legal?

So a quick search on any search engine will tell you that ad blockers are legal as long as they don't circumvent things like adblocker blocker or violate the web site's ToS. However, I can't find out which ad blockers do/don't circumvent these.

Can someone point me to an ad blocking software that is legal?

P.S. I don't care about getting caught, just about being moral.

Ad free browsing on iOS

Is there a good browser that block ads , popups, and redirecting. I've tried brave, although it does block ads. It does not prevent redirecting or popups, as in, when I click a video stream it opens a new tab with ads or asks me for permission to switch apps.

Local Adblock Server - Solutions and Level of Maintenance Required

I am completing a home server for plex and am thinking of adding other applications (home automation, media organization, etc).

What applications are best for local ad blocking/filtering? Having used Pi-hole in the past (2019), I was frustrated with how often I would have to white list websites and how some applications (don't recall specifics) would fail to load, forcing me to temporary disable filtering.

So what is this state of local adblock servers in 2022, what applications are suggested and how much manual white listing/tinkering should I come to expect?

Ideally I would like to set it and forget it; if the tinkering is too prevalent I would honestly rather deal with the ads.

Non-hosts file, non vpn based ad blocker for android

Every time i make a change to the hosts file i have to reboot for it to take effect and im starting to get damn tired of having to reboot every time i cant access something because my ad blocker is being overzealous.

I would prefer something on-device, if possible, but as far as im aware hosts file and vpn are really the only option - adguard dns doesnt work that well ime - so im open to network based stuff. My phone connects via wireguard to my house - I havent tried pihole but im willing to if its the best option.

What's your experience been with pihole if you've tried it? What's my best option that doesn't require a reboot to unblock stuff?
