Sometimes, even if you are using an adblocker, you may see some ads, either because your adblocker is based on Manifest V3 (Adguard Experimental ver.) or because these ads are called "Circumvenient ads". Here's how to block them anyway

Note that if you are on Adblocker Ultimate, you don't need to add it, it has a toggle somewhere in the settings, just ensure it's on and update filters.

Hi, I recently switched from iOS to Android (pixel 6). And am struggling with so many ads. I had Luna AdBlock VPN on my iphone but it doesn't really work on Android. I have tried using some AdBlock apps but they seem to only work on browsers. Are there any adblockers that I can install to get rid of these annoying ads. ðŸ˜

AdBlock cmd+. shortcut interfering with Google docs/sheet shortcut for superscript
I use AdBlock extension on chrome. Cmd+. is a shortcut to activate/detactive AdBlock. I want to change it because it is also a shortcut for doing superscript in google docs and sheets. I don't see any option to override it. Any suggestion?

Brave browser solves Twitch Ads
After searching for a while and nothing working, this is simple and it works. You simply click on the little red icon of the browser to the right of the URL bar, click on "advanced controls", and then change "block trackers and ads" to "aggressively block trackers and ads". No more Twitch ads. Enjoy

Is there an ad blocker that "reclaims" the screen space?
I've several forums I frequent that are mostly text. They are starting to use more and more ads, which when ad-blocked just leave large blank spaces. Virtually all my interaction is on a 15" screen laptop.
The owners refuse to give a paid ad free option.
The ad-blockers seem to work, but I still lose about half the screen to whitespace, a large block on the top and the right side where ads HAD been.
Are there any adblockers that let the user "reclaim" the whitespace?

Hello, I found an interesting way to get rid of video advertisements in the mobile Facebook app.
When you are scrolling through videos and an ad appears, don't watch it, don't skip it, just close the FB app immediately. Do this with every ad for a day or two and then, voila - no more video advertisements in official Facebook app.

For FB is probably better to show you much less ads than lose user completely :) If you are watching a lot of ads, the app will show them to you really often.

Alternative Adblock for Youtube (for now ig)
So, im pretty almost sure that this extension called "Pop Up Blocker for Chrome" also blocks ads on Youtube AND bypasses the youtube adblock block. Not sure for how long it's gonna work, but it's nice to find out it does that since I used this extension originally to only block those annoying p*rn ads and sites popping up.

Safari popups/unders/tabs
I’m on pihole for majority of house blocking. But one particular set of ads annoy me to no end. It’s the type where you click on the screen anywhere and it loads either a popup, a popunder, or a new tab, always to some spam site.
I have safari disallow any popups already. And on legitimate sites, this works unfortunately too well - it blocks it and shows an icon with “blocked popups”.
What’s going on? Is this just a flaw in the way safari handles popups or is there some other mechanism im no aware of?
Bonus - is it possible to block these with some pihole lists?

Here's how to block ads on Twitch (Working - 2023)
Since there have been many posts about people asking how to block ads in Twitch, I'll tell you how to do so :
1) Download an adblocker extension (I recommand using Adblocker Ultimate; but you can use any)
2) Download Tampermonkey extension
3) Look for a script called "Don't touch my adblocker" or "Anti Adblock killer" in GitHub
4) Apply the script to Tampermonkey
5) Restart your browser and enjoy

How do youtube preroll adblockers work and can they be on the server side?
I'm new to researching preroll adblockers and how they work. From my limited research, it seems like adblockers have a list of sites that are blacklisted and then run a script before the youtube stuff runs in browser. Would that be possible for you to run a vpn at home which your mobile device connects to and blocks them on the server? (The reason for the server is also because I wanna have a vpn tunnel when in public wifi)

Does anyone know if "Twitch Adblocker Plus" (formerly TwiBlocker) is safe to use? It was working, but Google removed it from the Chrome Web Store for malware. Devs' website claims that's false, and it's free of malware, but I'm hesitant to trust them enough to actually install it.
The website I'm referring to in the title is here. It used to work really well, so I want to use it, but I have no way of knowing if it's safe.
From their website:

This is completely false, as our extension does not have any malware, nor do we collect any data. I really can't stand how much Twitch has amped up their ads, so I want to get a working adblocker going. I'm currently using "Stream Cleaner", which does block the ads, but it's very glitchy. When the ads load, you get a blue screen stating that an ad is playing, and unfortunately, you have to wait for it to finish. I'm just glad it blocks those "Stream Display ads" without a hitch (they're the ads that load under the stream's video & resize the window).
I've seen people recommending adding something to the filter list in uBlock Origin, but that's never worked for me, unfortunately.

Blocking Video-Ads on YouTube without browser-extensions
Hey,
I'm using the Min-Browser, because i really love the minimalism and basically everything in it. But it doesn't have extension-support.
Is there any way to block these Pre/Midroll ads without an extension? I've heard about Adguard-Home and Pi-hole, but both of these seem to be useless because apparently youtube now serves ads from the same domain or smt.

Adblock ultimate now breaks browser?
Adblock ultimate (firefox) now suddenly, utterly breaks the browser.
Sites dont work. Some load only the text on the left side, others only the site name as plain text up top, some sites load but content will not. Youtube for example wont play videos.
Since I can not find anything on the net about it, not many others seem to have this issue.
What is going on and how do I fix it?
Deleting the app fixes everything but I´d like to not have ads, so a new app might be the only option.

Working Twitch Adblock?
Seems like twitch killed all the adblockers. I've used Ublock, TwitchLOL, purple blocker, stream cleaner and adblock for twitch and they all seem to not work. Is there any secret adblocker out there that twitch hasnt killed?

Is there still some way to completely block ads on Twitch?
Ive been using "twitch adblock 5.7.0" for a while which still works decently, then i tried TTV LOL Pro 2.1.3 which also works most of the time, but ever since twitch's new measures against adblocks a few weeks ago, i noticed that i might not get ads, but the stream often buffers/lags while playing. Which is probably the extension trying to block the ads itself, but it happens so often that it becomes so annoying that its often better to just watch the ad.
It even buffers/lags on a channel that im subbed to, when i turn off TTV lol pro i dont get buffers/lags anymore on that channel but im ofcourse getting ads on other channels. Im still using Chrome.
Do any of u have an alternative that still works without many problems?

Suddenly getting Ads on Facebook videos and Twitter
I'm using Adblock and Adblock plus. Always worked perfectly for me until a month or so ago i noticed i started getting adverts interrupting FB videos. Today, for the first time i'm suddenly getting ads on twitter, like one every 3 posts.
Has this happened to anyone else? What's going on?
I honestly don't know how people put up with this crap, you forget what it's like when using an ad blocker for so long.
