wco.net disabling adblock isn't working!

hi. i'm trying to watch some anime on wco.net. i disabled ublock origin which you can see in the top right is grayed out, but the site is still saying i need to disable my adblock to continue using their site. i don't have any other adblocker on my browser, so idk why when i disable ublock it doesn't allow me to use the site now. i'm on firefox. when i open the site on a private browsing tab on firefox the site actually works. so there's something with my current browser that isn't allowing it to work. what should i do? if anyone has any alternatives for a free anime site (with english voices) or knows what's wrong with this site and can fix it that would be appreciated. thanks! (sorry im trying to troubleshoot but im not finding any answer to this problem.) thanks!

edit: it's wco.tv not wco.net, sorry i messed up the title

edit 2: SOLVED. for anyone else having the same problem on this site, open firefox settings, manage exceptions on trackers, and add wco.tv to the exceptions.

UBlock lite for safari isn’t good enough yet

I use NextDNS (paid). I have used adguard, 1blocker, ghostery, wipr 2, and many others. I use the paid for versions of everything and was very excited to see UBlock lite come to safari. I put it on the iPads, iPhones and MacBook. I have every list (besides foreign) activated. UBlock lets too many promoted ads in on Reddit, doesn’t do anything for pronhub, and many other sites have allowed/unblocked ads.

Adguard is robust but slows down safari too much

1blocker wasn’t as fast as wipr 2

Wipr 2 is what I went back to using again as it’s the best speed and blocking out of all the ones I’ve used.

UBlock lite is new to safari so I’ll be looking out for future improvements. Thoughts?

Issues with Blocking Elements in Full-Screen on Brave Mobile

On my brave mobile browser, there are some elements I wish to block, which appear only when I am in full screen mode. I cannot access element picker to block them while in full screen mode, and if I try select the element picker beforehand, I no longer can go into full screen mode, because element picker considers the full screen button pressed to be the element that needs to be blocked. is there any solution to this?

Thanks in advance.

Which is best Blokada or AdGuard?

I've been aware of Adblokers for years, but ads never bothered me enough to install one. Recently I had enough after being bombarded with ads from every corner. I knew it was time to do something.

I did some research and stumbled on Blokada. I downloaded the apk and was happy with it. After some time I got Blokada V6 since I wanted to use it on my iPad too and thought that the VPN was a neat addition. I have to say Blokada V6 is better than the apk when it comes to blocking ads across my phone but the VPN does not work as expected. I didn't know that streaming services have a war with VPN. Blokada VPN is not enough to watch things that are available in other regions.

I had to do more research and ended up finding Adguard. What I like about AdGuard that you can buy the license for life instead of a subscription (if you don't want the free version). It also seems more complicated because more things can be done with it. I saw that AdGuard also has VPN services but I don't know if is any better than the one in Blokada. Will the VPN come included with the license or is that something separate?

Anyways thanks for any help. I'll keep doing research to see what else I can find.

Edit: Everything I read about Blokada it says is really focused for privacy. I'm assuming AdGuard is also focused on privacy. I don't know why Blokada highlight that so much.

Made an extension to mute ads on Twitch :3

On Twitch, ads aren't blocked by Ad Block and the others that I found aren't grate. So, waiting for a solution, I can show you that : Twitch Anti Ad ! My extension mute your ads and put the volume of your music up. Like that you can enjoy more your music than the stupid ad sounds.
I developped this not for a long time, really, and this is my first project so I would be glad if you have some great advice... For example I know that my screenshots aren't grate but I don't know to put better...
Thanks in advance !!

Best Self Hosted Content blocker as an alternative to uBlock Origin?

  • Needs to be able to consistently block Youtube ads.
  • Needs to be able to consistently block Twitch ads. (Although this is less of a requirement).
  • Needs to pass tests like DaddyLive which use invasive aws hosted ads.

These are usually my 3 standards on if a content blocker can actually be useful.

Hosting would be done on my tailnet so I could have access to the blocking on mobile.

You need a good Adblocker? I got you.

Here is a list of Quality Adblockers in August 2025 that block Ads on Every site you visit. Including YouTube, and Twitch Solutions.

Browser:
Ublock origin - The most Used, Updated and reliable adblocking Extension to date.
Adguard - The Most device Friendly Adblocker, can be installed on pretty much anything.
Brave Browser - The Strongest Built in Browser adblocker.
Ublock origin lite - A lightweight Version of Ublock Origin. Best Used on Chrome. (Works on manifest V3)

Mobile:
Adguard - Best adblocker for Mobile - Best built in rule filtering and customisability.
Brave Browser - Mobile Version of Brave Browser.
New pipe - An alternative Front end for YouTube on android
Revanced - Good alternative frontend app for YouTube, with 0 ads.
(Use a DNS service for Mobile game ads)

DNS: Good for blocking trackers and mobile game ads!
Adguard DNS - Very good DNS AdBlock Service that Is integrated with the Adguard Ecosystem.
Next DNS - Most customisable DNS Service, allowing you to take control of your devices.
Yoga DNS - A Client Side DNS Service for Computers, (Mainly Windows)
Pi- Hole - A Strong DNS Service intended to be used over networks via a raspberry-pi or router.
(NOTE: a DNS Service will NOT block any complex ads (Youtube, Twitch, Etc) -
Use a browser + AdBlock combo for that)

Smart TVs:
Adguard - (Paid) Although paid, it is the Best and most customisable Adblocker for Smart TVs.
Blockada - Free and reliable Adblocker for Smart TVs, able to block most ads.
Smart Tube - Free, Open source, Ad free front end for Video platforms for TVs. Including YouTube.
(DNS blockers may be able to block some TV based ads, but probably unreliably or not at all)

Extras:
Adguard Extra - Specialised Extension used for killing complex Anti Adblocker warnings on sites.
Sponsor Block - Skips over promotional content embedded in YouTube videos, primarily Sponsors.
Tampermonkey - A User script manager and editor, sometimes used in adblocking.

Best Combos:
Firefox + Ublock origin + DNS - Best adblocking and privacy for day to day use.
Brave + Ublock origin + DNS - Best for Privacy and complex adblocking, and ultimate protection.
Chrome + Adguard / Ublock origin lite (With complete filtering mode) + DNS - Best for chrome.
Blockada / Adguard + Smart Tube - Ad free TV Apps, No tracking, and Ad free YouTube.

Twitch: Refer to this: https://github.com/pixeltris/TwitchAdSolutions But i personally use and find work:
Adguard Extra - Able to use Specialised filtering to block Complex ads on twitch (Extension / Userscript)
Brave browser - (Nightly / Beta Builds Recommended) Uses Specialised Twitch AdBlock Filters.

AVOID:
- "Adblock"
- "Adblock Plus"
- "Ublock" (Not Ublock origin), they are 2 different Adblockers)
- Generic adblockers listed on the chrome web store, Which will likely try and get money out of you.
- DO NOT PAY FOR THEM, THEY ARE LIKELY SCAMS WHEN THERE ARE BETTER, FREE ADBLOCKERS.

I hope I'm wrong about this but I think Youtube is doing it again. Spiking CPU usage for UBO/FF users.

Watched a vid, 360p (so lower than average), ambient mode off, nothing else except the video and that's basically it, and my PC was humming louder than usual until I paused. Then I ran it again, went to about:processes, and noticed strange spikes in the youtube tab, going anywhere from 13% to 100% and fluctuating randomly in terms of CPU percentage. The memory used goes as far as 1GB, which I also don't think is normal especially if I'm watching a 360p video.

I really hope I'm wrong but I think that since the popup thingies aren't working in their forever wars against adblockers, they've resorted to bloating the site's usage for adblockers.

Here is the best AdBlocker for you:

The adblocker is called Goodtube, and it uses an alternative method to block ads. It’s super handy if you’re tired of ads and your current adblocker keeps getting detected. You can check it out here: https://github.com/goodtube4u/goodtube.

It also has an optional feature to block Shorts, but the main highlight is that the adblocker itself has been working really well and staying undetectable by YouTube so far.

If you run into any issues, you can check the FAQ or open an issue on the GitHub page (or even mention it here).

And if you’d like a modified version without the Shorts option, menus, etc., just let me know—I can code that for you 🙂

Ublock Origin/Lite Alternative

Since Mv2 has been deprecated and we have been either forced to use a new browser such as brave or use an inferior version of ublock origin, adblocking has become increasingly harder than it used to be. Even with ublock lite, half of the time it doesn't work on yt and if it does work, youtube will intentionally make the video slower on purpose by delaying the video for about 5-10 secs at the start or outright blocking you with the screen we all know of.

A solution I found was to use AdGuard for Windows a universal ad blocker program that works extremely well. I have been using it for a few weeks and not once has youtube shown me a block page or delayed my videos. The adblocker is pretty fast too. With this solution, I can continue using google chrome without any temporary fixes to bring back mv2 because realistically at some point there won't truly be any way and there haven't been any disturbances with youtube.

Yes, the program is paid but imo its worth it. (There is a trial for 2 weeks)

Just download AdGuard for windows then launch it, press settings and press import settings under general to use my config or simply create your own (my recommendation). My config is pretty simplistic.

Total Adblock bit of a scam

It works as intended no problem, though I subscribed bc of a prom (20€/y) think i’d just cancel the renewal just after so I don’t get punctured of 100€ in a year from now bc wtf 100€ for an Adblocker, might as well pay yt premium. Thing is you can only cancel the subscription and not the auto renewal, so I intended to ask directly to the support and it appears that there is no such thing, only a question center and when you find the « contact our team button » course you fall on a 404 page. Idk tf to do with this just wanted to share cuz it seems half legal and mostly cuz I’m bored af this morning

What Free Adblockers Work on YouTube?

So I was using the AdBlock extension for the longest time on YouTube before YouTube restricted it. I currently use Pie, but it is no longer blocking ads on YouTube as of today. It works on literally every other platform, though (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc...). I'm looking for something that can work for Chrome that is free.

[NSFW] How is it possible, that uBlock can do this, but Vivaldi not?

Maybe a little niche use case (I doubt it, but you guys won't admit it), but ads on adult sites. Especially on PH, where they started self-hosting ads as HTML5 videos. Firefox (and forks) + uBlock Origin just instantly delete all the ads, all videos, all banners and fake buttons. While Vivaldi adblocker, as good as it is on other sites, completely stumbles on adult sites. Doesn't block a single ad, regardless of adblocker being on or off.

So what gives? I enabled all the relevant adlists, added new adlists. Nothing helps, not a single ad is being blocked on adult websites.

Is there some technical limitation? Or maybe Vivaldi has agreements with certain sites?

Here's a working adblocker for Youtube (for all browsers including Chrome)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to re-post this as I keep seeing people here looking for a working Youtube adblocker.

Here's a free adblocker I made, which works well in all browsers including Chrome. It's called GoodTube and currently has over 80k users.

It uses an alternative method to remove ads, which means it will still work even when traditional adblockers aren't working. This makes it a great little fallback if uBlock Origin or similar are having issues (this happens regularly, we've all been there unfortunately).

It also gives you an option to completely remove shorts (this is turned on by default for the good of all humanity).

How to install
--------------------------------------------------

  1. Install Tampermonkey (or any other userscript manager you like): https://www.tampermonkey.net/
  2. For all browsers except Firefox - click the extensions icon up the top of your browser (the little puzzle piece icon), click "manage extensions", up the top you will find an option called "developer mode". You need to turn this on.
  3. For all browsers except Firefox - click the extensions icon up the top of your browser (the little puzzle piece icon), click "manage extensions", click "Details" next to the "Tampermonkey" extension, scroll down and turn on the "Allow user scripts" option.
  4. Visit this link and press "install" on the page that opens up. https://github.com/goodtube4u/goodtube/raw/refs/heads/main/goodtube.user.js
  5. Restart your browser.
  6. Turn off any other adblockers you're using. You can leave your adlockers on for other websites, they just need to be turned off for Youtube. The only reason you need to do this is that other adblockers often trigger Youtube's detection and this causes problems.

This sounds more confusing and difficult than it is. If you're not technical YOU CAN DO IT. Just follow the steps as they're written. In a few minutes, you'll have it working.

If you have any issues at all, please let me know!
I am dedicated to helping every single person remove 100% of ads from Youtube.

Why is removing these ads so important?
--------------------------------------------------

Youtube remains the largest online archive of music and art in the world and without it a huge amount of timeless human content and history would be lost forever. It contains extremely important digitised versions of rare physical media such as records, films, etc - which can be accessed nowhere else.

Youtube is also how most people on earth access free music, art, educational videos, entertainment, etc. The importance of allowing people to access these things cannot be overstated.

This content is for everyone and is not Youtube's to sell back to us. We must keep this content preserved for future generations and what's been happening lately is disgraceful.

I see Youtube in the same capacity as a library or museam and as such hold them to the same standards. They have a social repsonsibility which is not being taken seriously. Many disadvantaged people cannot "just buy premium". A large portion of the world lives in extreme poverty. Many people have mental health conditions which are simply not conducive to "buying premium". These are just a few examples.

This timeless human content belongs to everyone, not just the wealthy and privileged. It should not be disrespected with more and more commercial ads in this way.

As a human being on this earth, with a heart, soul, mind and spirit - you matter and are important, despite these crazy times in which we live. You are NOT simply a product to be bought and sold by capitalist companies such as Youtube.

So in short - let's keep this important resource, everything on it and ourselves free.

FAQs
--------------------------------------------------

Do I need to manually update this?
Nope, updates are pushed to you automatically so you don't have to do anything to use the latest version.

Playlists skip to the next video every few seconds
This is usually caused by another adblocker, userscript or extension you have installed. To fix this problem, disable all of your other adblockers, extensions and userscripts. Leave only Tampermonkey and this userscript enabled. Then refresh Youtube and check if the problem is fixed. If it's now working, turn on your other extensions and userscripts one by one until you find the one causing the issue.

I can't watch a specific video
This will work for 99% of videos. However it won't work for videos which are age restricted or have embedding disabled. You'll see a message come up if this happens. If you want to watch one of these, you'll have to disable this for a second. Sorry all, but there's no way around it currently with this alternative method of adblocking.

I can't use the miniplayer
The Youtube miniplayer is not supported. Instead this uses "Picture in Picture" mode, which works in most browsers / is the new standard for the web. Unfortunately Firefox does not support the Picture in Picture API, so the button is removed in Firefox until they decide to include this feature.

I'm having a different problem
If you're having a different issue, most of the time you will find it's caused by a conflicting extension you have installed. The first thing to do is turn off literally every single other extension and userscript you have installed. Refresh Youtube, check if the problem is fixed. If it is, then you know something is conflicting. Turn your other extensions and userscripts back on one at a time until you find the cause. Please be sure to follow these steps before reporting an issue! As mentioned, it's almost always the root cause.

--------------------------------------------------

Hope that helps everyone. Enjoy!

Defense Against Toggling?

I currently use the basic bitch Adblock for Chrome, and I noticed that some websites (YouTube, Fandom) will actually pull a dick move and turn OFF my adblock itself. When I click the green hand, it says "You've configured AdBlock to remain paused on this websites," my first thought is "No I fucking didn't". So, I was wondering: Is there perhaps a way to make keeping it on fully persistent unless the actual extension options are accessed?

This is an extremely minor inconvenience and I mostly want rid of it not really because of the ads that much, but because it feels like a deliberate insult from corporations. Like putting in earbuds to not listen to someone yapping about bullshit only for them to actually reach forward and YOINK your earbuds out. Bullshit.

Ive just found that my router and I assume a lot of other people's routers have a built in adblocker. This adblocker feature seemingly conflicts with youtube and other sites, causing slowdowns. after disabling the built in adblocker I no longer get slowdowns or pauses with youtube saying this is against tos even though I have both Braves adblocker and ublocks running simultaneously.

What im saying exactly is to check your router settings for built in adblockers and disable it, just use the browser based adblockers like ublock or brave.

Hope this helped if not please give other recommendations in the comments

Anyone else seeing YouTube not load when Adblock Plus is enabled?

Anyone else seeing YouTube not load when Adblock Plus is enabled?

Trying to figure out if this is just a me issue or not. Wiped browser cache/cookies and got the same results. YouTube only fully loaded when AdBlock Plus was disabled in extensions settings.

Android Adblocker for a fee for YouTube

I'm here as I went from Samsung Fold4 to Samsung S24ultra. For those who do not know it on Samsung Fold (I don't think for much longer) you don't see advertisements on YouTube. Or rather, I saw one every 3/5 days. I had no premium YouTube and I think it is simply something related to the format, still new of these phones that perhaps has not yet been optimized to show advertising. However, I changed the phone and therefore now I found the problem of YouTube advertising.

Do you know an app downloadable from the PlayStore (also for a fee) that removes advertisements on YouTube?

I would like to find an app that allows me to continue using the original YouTube application and not an app from which to see the video.

For example, I found this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.snowlife01.android.ad_blocker&hl=it, But I have not found anything about his ability to eliminate advertising from YouTube.

Do you know any?

Best Adblock for Chrome in 2025?

Running Chrome on multiple devices and trying to keep ads out as much as possible. I’ve used uBlock Origin for years, but with the Manifest V3 changes, I’ve been looking at uBlock Origin Lite and also tested AdGuard and Privacy Badger. Some people say AdGuard works better for certain sites, but I’m not sure if it’s as reliable long-term. For people still using Chrome, what’s the best adblock for Chrome right now? Does anyone have issues with YouTube or Twitch ads slipping through with these options?

Hisense Roku TV's inject ads using an OTA antenna - and won't work without internet

It makes me sick, while I was not the one who purchased the TV ('twas a gift), I was in the room as someone who was watching a local channel and noticed ads interrupting the broadcast. After even more ads, I asked them, "are you streaming that?" Nope, it was a local channel coming in from the antenna sitting on the shelf.

I was both furious and bewildered. Turns out this fuckstain of a company injects ads on OTA broadcasts! Which they know people hate, so they ALSO went the extra mile and blocked access to the coax/antenna input unless it has an internet connection.

Fuck Roku, fuck Hisense. Time to speedrun another PiHole setup and private server with caching. Straight-up disgusting.

How to Navigate on YouTube without Adblock Detection.

On AdGuard extension on all browsers.

A method to refresh YouTube and prevent detection: (a 5-second delay, or "Experiencing Interruptions?")

YouTube's adblock detection is triggered when you reload the video page directly (watch?v=...), You block ad-related scripts or containers, and You use extensions that modify the player aggresively.

To avoid it...

Instead of pressing F5 or refreshing the video page directly (watch?v=...), do this:

  1. Search for the video again using YouTube’s search bar.
  2. Click on the video from the search results.

Why it works:

  • YouTube’s adblock detection is triggered when you reload the video page directly.
  • Clicking through search results mimics organic navigation and avoids detection flags.

Bonus Tips

  • Avoid using browser refresh or reloading the tab.
  • Clear cookies and cache occasionally to reset tracking fingerprints.
  • Use Firefox or Brave with uBlock Origin for stronger privacy protection.
  • Disable aggressive player-modifying extensions that might trigger detection.

Clicking on the video on YouTube will not detect adblock, but refreshing a video detects adblocks.

Youtube black screen loading

Hi there!

Youtube seems to be avoiding UBlock origin by still forcing you to wait before a video loads staring at a black screen, even if there is no ad. I even tried it with Brave, and had the same results.

Has anyone figured out a solution to this?

I'll be thankful for any tips.

Does anyone know if cleantube is safe?

I've been using cleantube for close to or more than 2 years now, and it works at least to some degree.

The UI needs work but that's less important than the possible presence of Spyware in it that I don't know how to detect.

I've noticed that while running the app it seems to use a lot of my device's power and caused it to take on a lot of heat. It also gets slower every time I open a new page (open video, channel, channel section like playlists), the app gets a little slower and eventually has to be reset.

Am I endangering my device?

Cookie notice on YouTube not blocked with ublock origin

What the title says. UBO is updated (version 1.65.0). After this update of July the 15th, the cookie notice on youtube website appears, even though all the filer lists are checked (easylist and adguard). Was working fine before the update. Also, i noticed that those two filter lists arent updated automatically, even though all the rest do. Anyone faces the same issue or has found any solution? Thanks a lot in advance!

PS: i will report the issue on the ublock section, just wanted to know if others noticed the same problems as me.

A suggestion, since Chrome is an ass with adblockers

If there's any coders out there, I, and, I believe, everyone else, would heavily appriciate a modded version of chrome that can stay on the current version as of this moment.

ive always just watched youtube during studying or to pass time. Im grateful to youtube for cracking down on adblock because now it interrupts my habit of opening a youtube tab on my second monitor and allows me to realize i was about to watch a nice video and get distracted from the task at hand.

just gotta figure out how to get adblock on my phone so youtube will block me there too...

youtube being unusable with adblock

i understand YouTube and YouTubers need to make money from ads, but this is ridiculous from the date of this post. When using an ad blocker, the system cuts out the video. I'm wondering if this is illegal. If I have to watch ads, control your damn website, and stop showing ppl porn ads! I didn't know if anyone else was having this problem.

Thank you for letting me talk in my lil bootleg TED talk

There should be a law against what Google is trying to do with ublock origin

Hi.

I have these grandparent inlaws who need to use a computer to access their retirement stuff. No more paper work around.

Poor guy gets viruses every now and again because he's old, he doesn't get computers, he just gotta use them to access his money.

When I went to check his PC like I always do, I noticed he had all these sketchy ads that literally target old people. If I was like them, I'd fall for a few for sure.

We gotta get a lawsuit going or some shit because blocking ads ain't usually about getting to entertainment faster like how you block ads on YouTube. It's about keeping little kids and the elderly safe online.

Not a developer, but hear me out

We all know Youtube is waging war on adblockers. And from what I could find out during my short research on how an adblicker works, it functions by preventing ads from popping up.

But what if, specifically for youtube, instead of preventing the ad from appearing, it instead speeds up the ad by 1000x, essentially skipping the ad

Anyone know if something like that could be possible? I'm curious.

Make extensions in Chrome live a little longer

I've already made a switch to brave, but found this out to keep my chrome running a little longer.

Right click Chrome shortcut

Click properties

In the Target field add this at the end with a space

--disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled

https://reddit.com/link/1mfnyx3/video/4ihf3vbbalgf1/player

So example it should look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-features=ExtensionManifestV2Unsupported,ExtensionManifestV2Disabled
