Moving forward into 2023 regarding Manifest.

I currently use UBlock Origin on Chrome. From what I've heard, Manifest V2 is being depreciated in Chrome in about a day, and I'm considering switching to Firefox going forward because of this.

My question is how will Firefox be moving forward regarding versions of Manifest? There seems to be some ambiguity and a few contradictory claims in my Google searches, and I'm confused. Will Firefox continue supporting Manifest V2 in the future so Adblockers can continue to work in their current state? Will any Manifest V3 extensions I may currently have on Chrome work on Firefox too?

Android adblocker apps block my voicemail.

I have a Verizon Samsung phone and no matter what adblocker app I use it won't let my voice mail activate. No such problem with the private dns but I would prefer to use an app. Are there any solutions? I have no idea what the cause of this could be.

Is there any way to get ublock origin lite to work on YouTube? I’m on a Chromebook and can’t switch to another browser (I’ve tried), so I decided to get ublock origin lite due to the Chrome update. It isn’t blocking ads on YouTube videos though, and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to change that.

Any open source ad blockers that I can modify to suit my needs?

I’m trying to find an open source ad blocker that is super basic but allows me to throw the files into an editor and modify the block list. Part of the reason I’m looking for this is because most ad blockers feel bloated and unnecessarily large meanwhile all I want is a very simple filter.

I can’t find anything aside one called “AdBlkr Barebones” which is sort of what I’m looking for but lacks a toggle button to disable it easily.

Are there any other basic ad blockers that allow for full customization, I.E. edit extension code, modify filter list, etc.?

I noticed some elements ive blocked come back

I noticed some blockers are better then others and some block one and thats it. I use abp ubo and adguard together. some work on specific things and some do not.

some elements keep coming back. I did notice that adguard is the most consistent with removing and it never coming back. ubo and abp are iffy at times.

Raspberry Pi to block Youtube ads on Samsung SmartTV ?

I am wondering if this might work to block Youtube ads on my Samsung Smart TV? I am not talking about setting up a Pi-Hole on a Raspberry Pi connected to my router. What I am thinking is what if I set up a Raspberry Pi (Linux) with a browser that has a Youtube ad blocker browser plugin, then just run that Pi 24/7 connected to my TV's HDMI port, and I use a wireless keyboard with a trackpad for mouse cursor function; then when I want to peruse Youtube, I turn on my TV, select the HDMI port running Pi, using my TV as the monitor for the Pi, and just use the browser in the Pi to watch Youtube videos?

On my desktop PC I have a Youtube ad blocker and I never see Youtube ads. So I am thinking the above setup might replicate such an experience on my TV by using a Pi computer?

It could be my imagination, but I feel the ad density / quantity of ads on Youtube has gotten out of control, it is wearing me down. I know I could pay $70+tax for Youtube premium, but I don't need the premium I just need no ads (google/youtube used to offer a no ads option for I think $10/month or something, and I would gladly pay that but I do not have it in my budget to pay $75/month just to not see ads).

We're sorry, the AdBlock menu had trouble loading.

Since around 2 days ago, something happened with Chrome and after reopening it, Adblock suddenly stopped working so I don't know what happened. Is it down or is it a me issue? I've been clearing my Chrome cache since yesterday but it isn't done clearing yet. I also tried removing and re-adding the extension but that doesn't work.

Luna adblock not working

It hasn’t been working on Youtube for a few days. It used to block ads on the YouTube app just fine, but it’s not anymore. I’ve tried restarting my phone, deleting and reinstalling Luna. Hello, about 15 or so days ago, which is 15-11-2022 for context, I have noticed that my YouTube videos have been buffering for too long, it takes like 30 seconds even on a 1:02 minute video.

I have good, stable internet, 100mbps or some such and I play videos at 720p.

My browser is Firefox, I use uBlock Origin, never failed me.

Adblocker for twitch ios app

Hi

As the title says, im looking for any suggestions on how to once again block twitch ads on the ios app. There was a tweak that used proxy to bypass ads, but that no longer works as of two weeks ago. There was also a method i used for years where you could change some values in the app with a tweak called flex 3, which worked flawlessly, but stopped working a few years ago. Any suggestions on tweaks that still work? I am jailbroken so i can access tweaks on cydia etc.

Stop pop-up adds on LG smart tv web browser

Are there any adblockers for smart tvs? I don't mind homescreen ads, it's the ones that pop up when I try to stream anything on the web browser app. For example on buffstreams when trying to watch the world cup. Hi yall, just wanted to put this out there for the people who can't/won't buy the ad-free version of Hulu. I found a chrome extension that mutes and skips all video ads on Hulu. Youtube not loading because of AdBlock on Firefox

So i found out that its my addblock causing the problems for (and ONLY) Youtube not loading for some time (after some time the picture for "no network connection" pops up) and then i have to wait some time for it to world properly again for only limited amount of time. It only happens on one pc i have, regardless of network and regardless of what adblocker i use (i tried AdBlocker Ultimate and uBlocke Origin and i didnt mess with any settings) and it happens on Firefox which is up to date and im using Windows 7, but this probably isnt the cause as this started happening on one random day last year.

Comicbook.com was my final straw. I have, never once, been interested in imbedded videos that begin playing on their own. Let alone those that that follow beyond scrolling past them.

So a quick search on any search engine will tell you that ad blockers are legal as long as they don't circumvent things like adblocker blocker or violate the web site's ToS. However, I can't find out which ad blockers do/don't circumvent these.

Local Adblock Server - Solutions and Level of Maintenance Required

I am completing a home server for plex and am thinking of adding other applications (home automation, media organization, etc).

What applications are best for local ad blocking/filtering? Having used Pi-hole in the past (2019), I was frustrated with how often I would have to white list websites and how some applications (don't recall specifics) would fail to load, forcing me to temporary disable filtering.

So what is this state of local adblock servers in 2022, what applications are suggested and how much manual white listing/tinkering should I come to expect?

Ideally I would like to set it and forget it; if the tinkering is too prevalent I would honestly rather deal with the ads.

Non-hosts file, non vpn based ad blocker for android

Every time i make a change to the hosts file i have to reboot for it to take effect and im starting to get damn tired of having to reboot every time i cant access something because my ad blocker is being overzealous.

I would prefer something on-device, if possible, but as far as im aware hosts file and vpn are really the only option - adguard dns doesnt work that well ime - so im open to network based stuff. My phone connects via wireguard to my house - I havent tried pihole but im willing to if its the best option.

What's your experience been with pihole if you've tried it? What's my best option that doesn't require a reboot to unblock stuff?

An interesting set up. having troubles connecting.

So my computer set up is like this.

I got my main PC for gaming, the either-net cable is hooked from the back of the PC to an old Macbook pro that then gets wifi from the landlord upstairs. Runs like a dream. (Note: VPN is on PC, not on Mac right now)

Now last night, I managed to download 3 ad blockers for my browsers. Works great on the PC and the VPN works along side it. (Adblock, adblock plus, Ublock)

Now my macbook won't open any window that isn't Google because the ad blocks on the PC are on the same browsers I use on my mac. I can't turn on the VPN on my Mac because that cuts off internet to my PC.

The over all problem, how do I get VPN to work on my Macbook and send internet to my PC at the same time?

Or, how do I get adblock to work and send me to websites on an old laptap?

Adguard is a russian piece of software. What's more one would need to know to stop using it?
By buying their software people are financing international terrorists (that's a fact!). I wouldn't be surprised if any information collected by adguard is immediately transferred to the FSB, KGB, or whatever the name for it.

I want to allow specific advert types, is there any way to do such a thing?

For more context. While I browse YouTube I feel guilty that Google/creators I support dont receive any revenue from me while I use adblock however I'm not willing to view video ads / midrolls. Adblock slows YouTube, but only on my newer computer

I've seen other people complain about Adblock causing a delay in loading YouTube videos, but I've never had that problem on my seven-year-old MacBook. I do have it now on my brand new MacBook. In both cases the browser is Safari, and my new computer has no other extensions on it, so I have no idea what the discrepancy is.

I'm wanting to block the biggest digital advertiser offender's URLs using my ISP's Parental Controls feature. I'm well aware of ad blocker software out there, but would prefer not to install on my machine. I want to block as much traffic as I can through my ISP first.

Adblock doesn't work on Dailymotion

Dailymotion will detect the Adblock... After updating the filters I won't be presented with a popup anymore, however, the site will pause the video as soon as I click "play". Any workarounds this?

im not quite sure how to describe this ad but occasionally on a site im using to watch anime i will click to un pause and it will load an ad in a new tab i wouldn't be looking to fix this if the only ads from it were for porn games i use this site to watch anime with my 9 year old cousin i don't know when these ads will appear and there's no trace they just happen she wants to watch anime with me but this is the only site i can get anime we haven't already see, the entire tab turns into an invisible ad

Blocking specific images on Etsy

Currently trying to block specific images from showing up on Etsy. Etsy's search and recommended functions are trash and show products that are often unrelated to whatever you're searching for or may be relevant, but aren't wanted for whatever reason.

When I click "block element" from Adblock Plus or uBlock Origin, it does not work (ABP does nothing, uBO blocks the image while the page is loaded but upon refresh, it's back). Internal Etsy settings do not work (only listings tagged as explicit are caught, but the images I'm wanting blocked aren't considered nsfw). I can't report the listings either, because clicking on them would only reinforce Etsy to show me similar unwanted listings.

I don't want to block all images or a section of images (ex. "Recommended for you," "Similar to this collection," etc.), I just want to block specific images. Is there any way that I can do this? Is there an extension I can get that will help? Using Firefox.

Chrome's last update killed my adblockers

I just updated to Chrome version 106.0.5249.62 and Adblock Plus is not working at all. All my filters have been deleted. Both the extension and the filters are updated, but they don't block any ad now. I can't even block elements.

Before updating Chrome, they worked perfectly. What is going on? Did they already kill adblockers? I haven't seen anybody reporting this.

Please help. Thanks.

Edit: I've found a solution. I reinstalled Adblock Plus, then I deactivated all my extensions, Adblock Plus included. Then I restarted Chrome, and activated Adblock Plus only. Then I entered a random page, and after reloading it, it worked. The ads are blocked and the filters have returned, for some reason. I'm still not sure if this has been caused by Chrome or an extension of mine. In any case, I hope this helps.

As title states, I have a Samsung TV and have hit my limit on Ads with Youtube, there is no way to block ads on Samsung / Youtube and I can't take it anymore.

Still being bombarded with ads on iFunny

I’ve got premium AdGuard as well as the blocklist you get rid of most of the ads on iFunny but no matter what I do, not matter what shit I add to the blocklist or what html I’m hosting my things through, ads still pop up and annoy me to no end.
