Moving forward into 2023 regarding Manifest.

I currently use UBlock Origin on Chrome. From what I've heard, Manifest V2 is being depreciated in Chrome in about a day, and I'm considering switching to Firefox going forward because of this.

My question is how will Firefox be moving forward regarding versions of Manifest? There seems to be some ambiguity and a few contradictory claims in my Google searches, and I'm confused. Will Firefox continue supporting Manifest V2 in the future so Adblockers can continue to work in their current state? Will any Manifest V3 extensions I may currently have on Chrome work on Firefox too?

Android adblocker apps block my voicemail.

I have a Verizon Samsung phone and no matter what adblocker app I use it won't let my voice mail activate. No such problem with the private dns but I would prefer to use an app. Are there any solutions? I have no idea what the cause of this could be.

Ublock Origin Lite on YouTube?

Is there any way to get ublock origin lite to work on YouTube? I’m on a Chromebook and can’t switch to another browser (I’ve tried), so I decided to get ublock origin lite due to the Chrome update. It isn’t blocking ads on YouTube videos though, and I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to change that.

Any open source ad blockers that I can modify to suit my needs?

I’m trying to find an open source ad blocker that is super basic but allows me to throw the files into an editor and modify the block list. Part of the reason I’m looking for this is because most ad blockers feel bloated and unnecessarily large meanwhile all I want is a very simple filter.

I can’t find anything aside one called “AdBlkr Barebones” which is sort of what I’m looking for but lacks a toggle button to disable it easily.

Are there any other basic ad blockers that allow for full customization, I.E. edit extension code, modify filter list, etc.?

Terminal CLI one-liner - Add or remove all filter types

I wanted a way to quickly access my pihole filters so I put them on GitHub.

You can add or remove each type of filter by running a single command in the terminal.

I noticed some elements ive blocked come back

I noticed some blockers are better then others and some block one and thats it. I use abp ubo and adguard together. some work on specific things and some do not.

some elements keep coming back. I did notice that adguard is the most consistent with removing and it never coming back. ubo and abp are iffy at times.

I’ve heard there are browser ad blockers and YouTube Premium blocks ads in the YouTube app.

But is there an IOS app that looks similar to YouTube, plays YouTube videos, yet does it without video ads?

Looking for something similar on IOS to “SmartTube on Android” or “an old IOS app called MusicTube”.

Anyone know of a current app which does this?

I tried getting one online but all i saw were for chrome instead of the actual google app.

My chrome already has a functional adblock but My google app doesn’t.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Why can't adblockers keep up with websites?

Pretty much every news site I use that charges none of my adblockers can block without locking the page in the position it's at. Updating doesn't seem to do anything. I'm stuck getting all my news on Yahoo. Help!

Raspberry Pi to block Youtube ads on Samsung SmartTV ?

I am wondering if this might work to block Youtube ads on my Samsung Smart TV? I am not talking about setting up a Pi-Hole on a Raspberry Pi connected to my router. What I am thinking is what if I set up a Raspberry Pi (Linux) with a browser that has a Youtube ad blocker browser plugin, then just run that Pi 24/7 connected to my TV's HDMI port, and I use a wireless keyboard with a trackpad for mouse cursor function; then when I want to peruse Youtube, I turn on my TV, select the HDMI port running Pi, using my TV as the monitor for the Pi, and just use the browser in the Pi to watch Youtube videos?

On my desktop PC I have a Youtube ad blocker and I never see Youtube ads. So I am thinking the above setup might replicate such an experience on my TV by using a Pi computer?

It could be my imagination, but I feel the ad density / quantity of ads on Youtube has gotten out of control, it is wearing me down. I know I could pay $70+tax for Youtube premium, but I don't need the premium I just need no ads (google/youtube used to offer a no ads option for I think $10/month or something, and I would gladly pay that but I do not have it in my budget to pay $75/month just to not see ads).

We're sorry, the AdBlock menu had trouble loading.

Since around 2 days ago, something happened with Chrome and after reopening it, Adblock suddenly stopped working so I don't know what happened. Is it down or is it a me issue? I've been clearing my Chrome cache since yesterday but it isn't done clearing yet. I also tried removing and re-adding the extension but that doesn't work.

Luna adblock not working

It hasn’t been working on Youtube for a few days. It used to block ads on the YouTube app just fine, but it’s not anymore. I’ve tried restarting my phone, deleting and reinstalling Luna. It says it’s connected, it also still works on some other apps. Has Youtube finally found a way around it? I’m on iOS.

AdBlocker Ultimate crapped out this morning

Private DNS adblocking servers where you can whitelist individual apps on Android?

I am using NextDNS on my phone and it works really well, but I really want to whitelist Pandora from my adblocking service because since the ads aren't being loaded, it is causing the app to cycle through the same set of songs throughout the day as Pandora's ad server is rejected.

Websites reject ad blockers because they lose ad revenue.

If an ad blocker virtually click on some ads -- but don't display them, open the target page in a headless browser as a background process for a while and then close it, will websites still reject this ad blocker?
