Is it possible? Can’t find anything online. The same ad plays every time you open the app. It drives me crazy.
Thanks in advance.

disclaimer: I'm new and may not be using the correct terminology
• I'm using the reddit mobile app on an android phone
• If I have to look at another ad, I may have to be committed to a mental hospital
• I tried AdGuard, but only found a paid version. I'm too poor to pay for premium
• I searched the archives for this subreddit and the only other suggestion I could find was AdAway. That's not listed in my Google Play store as a downloadable app
So..... does a free ad blocker for the reddit mobile app on android even exist? If yes can anyone point me in its general direction?
Huge thanks!
I want to watch anime ad free I’m on iOS idk what to do (Without jailbreaking or installing sussy stuff) And I don’t want to pay anything cuz I’m broke
There's a place-holder on youtubes homepage that just adds an empty block with adblocker, when there should be a whole video.
For whatever reason the extension does NOT send me the security code to let me transfer my premium subscription from Chrome to Firefox. It doesn't even let me contact them - the forms never send. But when I try it in Chrome it sends immediately. I tried contacting them about this and nothing from them for 35 days already.
I have a Samsung s9, I prefer to use the YouTube app for music to play my likes videos while driving to work for a 4 hr commute. Neither Luna or adblock have worked as described. Still getting ads on the app. Changed VPN locations, just to get different ads. Some even from different countries. I've uninstalled and re installed, used different base browsers, nothing has worked. Does any adblock work for the youtube app?
I just dk what to feel. at first I thought that installing adblock would be great. but I still get youtube ads and twitch ads, and now my browsing experience is even worse because I cant access a bunch of websites anymore. they all ask me to disable my adblocker first before going in. I just feel like there was no point in me even installing it in the first place? idk . or maybe I am being ungrateful I don't know.
None of the adblocks work anymore. Any solutions?
An app I use called twitchmod never has ads. Is there a way to get that adblocker lol
There's this website I like to watch movies on but it is riddled with annoying popup and redirect ads. I've tried using AdBlock, it only works for banner and popup ads but doesn't do anything against redirect ads. Are there any (preferably free or open source) adblockers that could work against redirects?
Hi. Do you guys know of any good adblock apps for Androids that open all Chrome links in the adblock app, but any other links (like Youtube links) in the platform they're for?
Been wanting to know how to block ads for the YouTube and Spotify apps, along with an adblock improvement for Opera GX if possible, since the current one it has sucks.
In mind of the YouTube app, I've tried ReVanced, but it keeps failing to patch. Maybe a different free solution or a more stable version of ReVanced would help.
Luna VPN is kinda a recuring theme in this sub. Their most promintent (blessing and curse) feature was their use of a MITM proxy to preform ssl intereception to block ads. On one hand this allowed them to block ads on hulu/youtube (normally this is dificult to do at a dns level since these sites use the same domains for serving videos as ads meaning nuking the domain breaks the app). On the contrary it means they can also see the contents of the websites you browse.
Here is an example of bank info that could be seen. I used a free open source program called mitm proxy to get this (similar to the approach of luna vpn).
By the same token they could steal login credentials/moniter other apps in a similar fassion.
Now lets say you don't care about your literal web contents being monitored by a shadey company, another reason not to use them is well their app is pretty bad at blocking ads now. After being pulled from the app store and google play once the new version removes the mitm capabilites meaning it doens't block hulu or youtube ads anymore (its only good feature).
As per alternatives on ios and android I would strongly consider using nextdns. They do not sell data like luna and don't have a mitm proxy like luna vpn (trusted by chrome and firefox). Adguard is also another good pick though they give you a little less control on the filters/whitlists you can use.
On android you have a few more options from private dns to local blocking (a great video by howtomen):

Finally regarding youtube and hulu. The best way to block youtube ads is by using a modded client.
For ios use uYouPlus sideloaded via altstore or sidestore. Main benefits is in addition to blocking ads uYouPlus allows background video playback, downloading videos offline, and blocking baked in ads via sponsor block.

On Android use revanced:

As per hulu I made a old thread tutorial on how to block it on android (sorry ios users your out luck here) using firefox or kiwi (fork of chrome):

As the title says, is there a reliable adblocking for Twitch on Firefox? Fucking sick of getting 8 pre-roll ads at the worst time.
^ kinda says it all... if anyone can help that would be cool
Hi guys. What adblock would you recommend for android?
Hello - wondering what the easiest way to block ads on all home laptops/phones/tvs is? Is there such a thing? Thanks in advance
I found out that hulu have added a new permission which let them bypass ad blockers except for some shows as the one provide show would put the ads in the show like fox in family guy
Am I able to block YouTube ads from playing on my YouTube Android app? I've been using Brave to watch YouTube but I much prefer a stand-alone option.
this is probably a stupid question but are there any adblocker programs/services that work on streaming platforms? even if they charge money i’d still love to have the option if it exists
As the title says, is there such a hotkey? I am wondering if I should write my own script/extension for this, or if it already exists.
Looking for a way to put an adblocker on my Vizio Smart Tv. Any method to install it?
I use Surfshark VPN and it has a built-in ad blocker. Is it considered safe or could it be a key logger?
I did not have to give it any permission when I activated it. I'm concerned because I read that some ad blockers, especially those closed-source, could be key logger. Surfshark claims to be open-source but I don't have enough knowledge to verify this.
I need a way to block ads on the youtube app on ios, I tried luna VPN but it seems to be outdated and not working.
One way is to use ios browsers that have ad-blocking functions.
Does anyone have a way?.
I like to sing karaoke on youtube, the advertising videos that appear suddenly make me very uncomfortable.
Well it started today i wanted to watch youtube and it doesnt work is there any fix?
i uninstalled it. sometimes i had to triple click a word when i wanted to highlight it. slow loading time even with my brand new super duper high speed internet. etc. and it automatically updated on the browsers of 3 computers that i use often, all had the same problems. something aint going right and it doesn't look like it was on my end
I've been using AdGuard for probably about a year now. And I liked it a lot. Decided to give AdGuard a second or third shot this time around since I really didn't play or tinker with it very much. I've already downloaded the hosts and enabled the domain filtering in advanced settings. Still seeing ads on Opera, however. Is there something I'm missing?
I have a Samsung tablet and am looking for a free adblock service I can download to work on mostly youtube & twitch ads. I'd like you to know I'm very dumb at tech so you have to walk me thru it like a child. Thanks
Ever since blockada went paid.......it hasnt been the same and I cant find anyother working alternatives
