I read adds work into your Mind like it or not... Use local annoying car sales On radio..I knew 2 people looking to buy a car went Outta there way to avoid Annoying car add guy. Sure I'll hear look at the ones Where the add worked Two people I know don't Mean nouthing.pushing a Product down someone's Throat well you need to hear The add..I turn off radio or Change station. It's that bad
I hope they are actively working on fixing it, because my wife has had to turn off the VPN in order to watch YouTube. Unfortunately, the ads are driving me up the wall!
We use Luna VPN on iOS, and the YouTube official app. As far as I am aware, on desktop Firefox and uBlock Origin are still working.
Title sums it up. I still get the popup on YouTube and cannot watch any videos even when I whitelist YouTube or completely disable my adblocker. It even happened when I completely uninstalled it. Does it have something to do with Malwarebytes maybe? Getting really frustrated as I'm trying to watch videos for schoolwork!!!!
I copied all my adblock plus filters from my old computer that has them filtered. Everything I can find on the internet says the following line which I have on both computers should be doing it.
I'm not an adblock expert, I've just found stuff to add to my list for the random shit on the internet that annoys you, what am I missing?
bro, when I want to use something from a page where adblock cannot be used, it tells me that I have to deactivate adblock, but I don't have any activated, I deactivate all the extensions of all the browsers and nothing, I don't know what to do, please I need help.
Finally got annoyed of having to pay for Youtube Premium just to avoid some Ads. And now I am being inducted into this most sacred of alternatives to the pernicious march of capitalism.
Are there any good, sledgehammer adblockers you can recommend?
I have several methods to block ads and the method I use depends on what device I use and what ads I am trying to block. I don’t use any one method to block ads. Everyone should change their default DNS server to ether Adguard or another ad blocking DNS server. Doing this will block a lot of ads on its own including ads in Google Play apps. I also found that connecting to Albania will block Twitch ads. I know a lot of people were looking for ways to block ads on Twitch, so I thought I would post it.
Recently, my AdNauseam blocker in Firefox broke on Youtube again. In the past I used to use a trick to fix it (which I won't be posting on Reddit, just in case a disgruntled Google employee might come across it), but this didn't seem to work at first. Then, when I tried it on another system, Youtube worked perfectly fine. What I found out, is that when I logged out on my laptop, Youtube was fully functional, but as soon as I logged in, I got the "We want more money, quit blocking our ads" page. Somehow, the usage of AdNauseam has been linked to my Google account, and clearing cookies won't help anymore. Suffice to say, I'm pissed off. Anyone know what to do now?
Personally, I prefer to use safari over other web browsers, and the ad guard has done a decent job so far and has been able to bypass the anti-adblock YouTube uses. however, yesterday everything stopped working and YouTube has been able to detect again. I have tried the old tricks such as emptying caches but nothing works. Is there an Adblock that works for YouTube on safari?
Finding very little on ways to block ads on the mobile app for Twitch. Any help would be greatly appreciated, even if it's a bit of a headache to set up.
any dns that would work to block the ads on hbo max ad-tier? i have an nvidia shield and use spectrum router that lets me change the dns in settings.
Not getting the "Adblocker are not allowed" messages now, but Adblocker Pro is just not blocking the ads at all. Anyone else?
Paid for Total Adblock, which works intermittently. Switched to Brave browser and no ads at all for weeks now.
When i watch weekly episodes of Wrestling on Dailymotion, i always get dozens of ads every five minutes or so.
I figured out that if i connect to a VPN, the ads go away. Is it because the ads don't exist in the country I'm choosing or what?
can someone explain to me please?
Do I need to have my Raspberry Pi device running at all times to block ads on a network level?
My wife used my phone for clothes shopping once and now I keep getting ads for that site and I don't want/need ads for women's clothing. There a way to make it stop? It's particularly bad on Reddit, ifunny and Amazon. It's for android, if that matters. I've tried clearing caches and histories and am out of ideas. Thanks in advance.
Hi all, my laptop recently kicked the bucket so I'm looking for an android alternative for adblock. Is there an app or APK I can install? Thanks
Many argue that blocking YouTube ads is unethical for content creators, with some even labeling it as piracy.
Aren’t online ads meant for engagement? Unlike television, online advertising traditionally depends on interaction.
If that’s the case, watching YouTube ads becomes entirely pointless if there’s no intention of clicking.
The non-interactive aspect is also futile, as the creator wouldn’t incur any losses if it’s solely about sales of the advertised products.
Am I missing something, or are some YouTubers assuming that Adblock users would otherwise engage with ads by clicking on them?
i expect a whole new drm system and some are impossible to beat, i don't think google is going to back down from this knowing the money from premium.
I don't understand why people care what others do and nobody is forcing them to install adblock on their device. They can watch as many ads as they want. It would be one thing if the premium users enjoyed their subscription and went on their way, but noo, they also want to force everyone else to get premium as well. Lots of boot lickers for Big tech corporations. I know that not all premium users are like this, but many of them are.
I have AdBlock and AdBlock Plus installed on my Google Chrome browser.
But when I visit a certain number of websites like a Fandom site for instance, it still displays ads despite both add-ons being enabled. Weird!

Forgive me please if i am on the wrong subreddit first off i am not very techy, but like all others i use my phone/laptop/gaming system every day. my work is in blue collar labor i used to use adblock but years ago but youtube made it so that the videos dont load if you dont disable it and so i caved in and just left it off i watched the video louis posted about piracy and i kind of want to trick out my technology to watch stuff ad free on youtube or movies without using netflix. Fix my nat and make everything more private from data sellers, should i do this on my own and probably lose patience cause i have no idea how? or find someone who is basically a pro and get them to do everything [link] [comments] |

This is some real dystopian shit.
I looked at Youtube's TOS to see if using an adblocker was really against their TOS like Youtube claimed and to my surprise nothing in their TOS says that we can't used an adblocker. You can correct me if I'm wrong, they are required to notify you ether by email or mail if they do change their TOS. I never got any email from Google about the change and I'm sure you didn't ether. They didn't expect people like me to actually look at their TOS and read it. Youtube was lying all along, so next time someone says "if you don't like the TOS then don't use their service" call them out and ask them to show you where in the TOS does it say I can't use an adblocker. If people start getting accounts banned then this could leave to massive lawsuits. If the EU plays their cards right they got Youtube by the balls. You can read the TOS yoursel and posted a link for it.
Yes, bypassing it works if ur not logged in, but has anyone found a solution with an logged in account?
what else can we do? i believe we may have lost. at this point, i may be done with youtube. i may be moving to vidlii. idk why this indian youtube ceo thinks this is a good idea. fuck him. i just want him to go back to tech support.
are there any extensions that actually block ads? because if you can't find any, i think we all lost. goodnight.
Sorry if this comes across as ignorant, but I was reading online about the change to manifest V3, right. And, apparently only 30K rules are now allowed. What does this mean? Does this mean that after those rules are expired, you can’t block any more ads?
Thanks for clearing up all confusion :-)
I can click the AdBlock option to hide something on the page, but two things happen.
1- If I click the scroll bar until the pop up is gone, the page no longer scrolls up/down. I refresh the page and I am able to scroll (no ad block pop up) but once the page fully loads I can no longer scroll.
2- If I stop the slider short of going all the way (90-95%) the ad is gone, but there is a gray tint/overlay and the site doesn't work until I press ESC to have the gray tint/overlay 'exit/close' although I'm not able to replicate that on another machine.
I'm using Chrome and I am also running ublock origin. I haven't had any issues up until a couple of days ago.
Thanks.
I just recently saw the news of the upcoming V3 Update to extensions, and, had a bit of a silly question to try to find some info regarding it. I use AB+ (UBO is one I considered for a bit but I've used AB+ for years and haven't made the swap). Will this upcoming change to Chrome in 2024 cause issues with that? Or has there been info on if the team working with AB+ will do anything surrounding that? Sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question, I just want to be sure as swapping browsers tends to be a last option for me in the long run. Thank you!
If you folks have inspect element, take the adblockers are not allowed on YouTube pop up and replace any mention of Premium with nothing but mandatory unskippable ads.
Here’s my worst ads linked in one post if you want any references:
Winner gets reposted!
hi,
i've been lurking on these similar subs for a while now reading everything from graphene OS, Linux, Qubes to raspberry pie and NextDNS.
im fast learner and quite technical, well at least at work..but totally suck regarding internet networks, servers, routers and everything with telecommunications.
could anyone provide me ELI5 guides or drop me a one where i could block trackers/ads on a router level?
would it be safe to change DNS on my ISP from default one and what will it do? what are the next steps?
May this serve as a reminder for those who think adblock is a frivolous luxury
I can apparently skip youtube ads super easily, without using an adblocker: when the ad. starts even though you don't have any controls on the screen, the touch bar allows you to forward them till the end. This tells me that, as expected, the video controls are only disabled from your browser and that there's a way to access them.
For those who are interested, comment below: if there's enough interest, I'll write some code that you can add to your browser so you don't have to see the measly ads ever again.
Been using this app. No prerolls and background playing ability. Also includes a cache cleaner. Check it out. https://www.tubemaxapp.com/
This method works great for Iphone users because they can't get Revanced on their Iphones. You can use a VPN to connect to Moldova, Albania, or Russia. Google ads are not displayed in those countries, so just use a VPN to connect to connect to those countries.
I was using AdBlock, but alas, most media sites then detect it. So I choose allow ads, and refresh. That became mildly irksome, so I quite AdBlock altogether. Portland Oregon, has a local weekly arts & entertainment paper whose site is the worst, takes minutes to load and reload all the clock bait and targeted ads. Made me realize that their old news was not so important, and the reader comments are an instant recipe for depression and hatred of the human condition.
Seems like Google is losing the technical battle against the adblockers, but they still have like one trump card, people's google account, wonder what we do if Google starts disabling user accounts for violating their fair use policy? What then?
I just had a pop up on my Macbook Pro saying Google LLC just added software that can run in the background. I was able to turn it off in System Settings.
Does anyone know what this is? Is it to monitor YouTUbe stuff?
Adblockers

Adblockers

Many years ago I got an adblocker because the adverts on the internet were getting too intrusive. At the time there were banners that flickered and flashed in a potentially sezure inducing way that seemed beyond insulting and stupid. I don't know if internet adverts are still aiming at gross neurological insults like that, because I have not watched any since then, but it boggles my mind that many people are tolerating a regime where the adverts on youtube are longer than the video selected and I wonder about the state of consciousness or lack of it in anybody who is able to accept it like that. I have heard that many people simply accept the default internet experience that their device presents to them - and who are therefore being psychologically violated 24/7/365 That is an astonishing fact in itself to me. Who are these people we are sharing this planet with?
Like on the app youtube? Im just tired of seeing triple ads on the ios its so fucking annoying.

I am using dns.adguard.com Is there a way to disable this kind of popup. [link] [comments] |
I tried everything but I was still locked (Stage 4), I signed out and all works fine?????????? What?????
ABP suddenly works again on YouTube for me without doing anything to it. I was using Brave in the meanwhile and today I opened a youtube video on Chrome by mistake and it worked just fine, after that I tried other videos and I had no issues.
Anyone else can confirm this?
So I haven't gotten the "adblock block" yet, however since a little less than a month I've had this thing where YouTube kinda starts loading the ad but doesn't play it. It'll be a black screen with a spinning loading icon, the timestamp indicates the length of the ad, and the text in the corner is of the ad. But the actual ad doesn't play, it just "buffers" on a black screen for a few seconds and then goes to the video. Which is mildly annoying but whatever, I can live with it.
However, as of today something new has been happening... When the video starts playing, it has skipped ahead a few seconds. The amount of time skipped is not consistent, like one time it was 16 seconds and another time it was 5 seconds. It looks like when you "resume" a video that you previously started watching. My totally spontaneous uneducated guess after this has just happened three or four times is that perhaps the time skip is the same as the length of the ad it was supposed to play? But I just made that up on the spot so I have no idea, just a wild guess.
Has this been happening to anyone else? Got any idea what to do about it? For the record I use AdBlock Plus
EDIT: I've tried browsing some videos just to see how this phenomenon works and the time skip does indeed seem to match the length of the ad that was supposed to play. Got a bunch of 15 second ones in a row and then a 1:47 one, and consistently the time skip when the video starts has been matching the length of the removed ad.
After an unexpected reboot (rather than wake from sleep which is what i would have expected) and doing a reload of all the previously open windows / tabs on chrome, my YouTube appears to be working again...
But on one of my 8 chrome windows - the only one that's all youtube and nothing else - the AdBlock is paused.
On this window only, the AdBlock button on chrome is showing as green, and clicking on it shows that AdBlock is paused. Only i didn't pause it. And I can't seem to unpause / restart it on that chrome window
AdBlock seems to still be working on other chrome windows, including YouTube tabs on other windows. I can actually play the YouTube videos on those tabs without adverts and no warnings.
Something really weird is going on here though. Anyone had anything similar? Might be nothing, might be me doing something stupid, but thought I'd ask...
Trying to block parts of amazon page. Annoyances i dont want to see. Adblock plus not even allowing to choose anything when you select to remove something. Ubo does, but it comes back. I know you all work for ubo ;) and like pushing ubo and its ok for some things but for some reason abp does remove things that ubo doesnt or that it comes back over and over. Even blocking an avatar on a forum and it comes right back with ubo. Abp never. Its why i use both
As of today YouTube has found a way around uBlock Origins and is now BLOCKING me by not letting any videos even play if their ads are being blocked. Now I get a quick popup that says youtube doesn't allow adblockers and uBlock makes the popup go away so fast you almost doing get a chance to notice it. Then you are provided a video that is 0:00 out of 0:00 and can not play at all. ALL videos are now like this outside of shorts... I have tried refreshing the page and videos several times and even put them into play lists and still no change. If I disable uBlock the youtube videos work once more as long as you refresh the page again. Any Ideas on how to fix this?
i'm using ublock and purging cache doesn't work anymore.
Fadblock, a recent open-source plugin that attempts to strike a balance between ad-blocking and viewing ads. After all, users put in the effort to block ads, and Google is equally determined to make you see ads. Whether it's ADG, ADB, or custom filters, they often become ineffective in just a few days, which is very frustrating.
At this point, an open-source plugin claiming to "fast-forward" ads appeared, and since it doesn't block ads, Google didn't seem to have any objections. They didn't request Github or the author to take it down. However, issues with open-source software have emerged. Maintaining a large user base is quite challenging. After all, many people use this kind of gray area software, which leads to numerous issues, and addressing them one by one is not very efficient. Additionally, most developers have full-time jobs in the real world, and they only have spare time for development and bug hunting.
So, the author introduced a paid option, which brought about some practical issues. The people using his plugin are those who want to avoid paying YouTube for ad-free content, which is why they use an ad-blocking plugin. If they have to pay the author to support this "fast-forward" ad plugin, they would rather pay YouTube directly.
In the author's GitHub project's issue section, there are many discussions pointing out that the author's actions are clearly motivated by making money. However, this also highlights that in the ad-blocking battle, Google always stands on the winning side, whether you pay or not.
Some people compromise and pay YouTube, while others don't pay but demand free ad-blocking services to catch up quickly. However, there still hasn't been anyone loudly declaring, "I don't want to use YouTube anymore!" in anger.
FadBlock is asking for payment now, even though I thought it was supposed be a FREE extension. Is extensionpay.com safe? Is it even worth paying, or is there another free alternative that works just as well as FadBlock
Is there any new adblocks that'll work with Opera GX against the new Youtube nonsense?
I've always wondered this since Youtube started giving everyone the ad block popup. Since Chrome is by Google, and other browsers like Brave or microsoft Edge use the chrome store for installing extensions and themes, cant google just pull the plug on all extensions that block ads on youtube?
And if they do, what are some solutions to get past (other than subscribing to YT premium).
I'm too deep in google services and I was wondering if there's any threat poses on my account/Data if I keep using uBlock Origin or similar adblockers?
If anyone is still struggling with YouTube's adblock, here is a way to bypass;
Download TamperMonkey on Chrome;
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tampermonkey/dhdgffkkebhmkfjojejmpbldmpobfkfo/related
And then download this script;
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/386925-youtube-ad-cleaner-include-non-skippable-ads-works
Trial and tested as working from 02.11.23
I have been getting pop ups from AdBlock recently when starting my browser asking me to donate. So I chose to do a one time payment of 5€. Now I got the payment bill via mail and it said the payment went to "Paddle.net". Is this right and they use a third party service for donations or did I get scammed?

I use uBlock Origin and have cleared the cache and everything even after this happened but all of a sudden the youtube ads will play just with a black screen and with audio. This just happened today and I'm not sure how to get rid of it. [link] [comments] |
I've been using AdBlocker Ultimate for a couple years now, and I've had no problems with YouTube's new anti-adblock measures. I just The message pops up and immediately disappears.
That being said I'm wary of keeping it on my computer because I can't seem to find much information on the developers. I also found this thread regarding some shadiness surrounding the app: https://twitter.com/gorhill/status/1165748071382376451.
The only reason I haven't switched to uBlock origin is because it doesn't block the YouTube anti-adblock screen.
Any thoughts? Does anyone else use Adblocker Ultimate. I'm hoping someone more tech-savvy might know a bit more about this stuff haha
