Remove Hulu Ads in App

Hello I have subscribed to the Hulu Plan with Ads. Now I'm okay with Ads but this is too much. I get one every 5-10 Minutes and it takes 1:30-3:00. Is there any way to get rid of them? On my Laptop I just use an Hulu Ad Blocker Add on which fast forwards them and works great. On Phone I'd like to use the App because the interface is a lot better than the Desktop Version in Browsers. I have NordVPN and tried Threat protection but it didn't help. Thank you

Block ads on YouTube without (a) adding extension (b) switching browser from Chrome

Wondering if the advertisements on YT can be blocked (or videos from YT can be streamed on some other website sans ads). Don't wan't to add any extensions as they typically slows downs your browsing speed while taking up space. Neither do I want to switch to Firefox or Brave or any other browser just to watch YT videos!

Adaway (root) Block lists on Android 14

Is there anyway to extend the ad blocking on adaway, its hit and miss. Ive read you can feed it a bigger list but can't find a tutorial on how to do it. I cant simply download a hosts file and paste it to system/etc/ because it throws an error aboit not having space which is a lie but I think its a security thing. I see a way to add to the lost but when you have a 35MB hosts file it is not practical to add each domain, address etc one at a time.

Seeking the name of lost desktop youtube player in a HD crash

Hello - I lost an app in a recent computer total system failure. I checked my most recent backup and the app I used isn't there in my applications. I got referred it from reddit and yet despite hours on hours of searching I just can't find it so I'm hoping someone here can maybe help me?

It's a desktop application (I run MacOS) called that I believe is called [Something]Box and it plays youtube, bittorent which you can se other programs without any issues.

It's exactly what I need and I've tried "Media Box" "Movie Box." and things like that but those arent related youtube/stream.

Apologies is this is the wrong place for this but I cant figure out the right set of words to search but it worked so well and the only failure was my laptop.

I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you.

Pie Adblocker - Looks sketchy?

There's a saying: if a service is free, you are the product. This isn't perfect, open source community good projects like Ublock are a bit of a different thing, as they're made by users for users.

Pie doesn't fit that description. It's clearly got a company behind it that wants to make money, and it's putting out advertisements, lots of them. I don't trust it, but with Google doing its best to kill existing adblockers, I'm looking into other options. Has anyone had experience with Pie?

Note: I've seen other people ask this question, and the creator of Pie has responded. Let me be clear right now, Ryan aka u/ketau, I am asking this question because I do not trust you or your product. Telling me that it's totally legit and that I should stop worrying is going to make me MORE suspicious, not less, so maybe just don't say anything at all, okay? If it's as good as you claim, someone else will do that for you.

Making an ad blocker for Roku

I'm getting sick of Youtube giving me 2 minute unskippable ads every 5 minutes I watch. I read that a raspberry pi can be used to make an ad blocker but I've never done it before, how could I go about doing this? Would I need to program my own app or is there something I can download/piggy back off of. Once I get an adblocker on the pi how do I make the roku run on or through it so that I don't get ads on it. Also I've heard YouTube is cracking down on ad blockers and won't allow you to watch videos if one is detected so how can I bypass this or make it undetectable?

I've seen people use Pi hole but since it's DNS based it won't work for youtube ads i guess? what type of ad blocking method should I be looking at for the roku version of Youtube?

How Do I Remove This?

How Do I Remove This?

I'll provide a picture screenshot with this message but yeah I keep getting this notice on You Tube that says "Looks like you're running an adblocker. Select allow ads and hit refresh to watch the video"... So, check it, I don't have an adblocker. This crap didn't start happening until a month ago when my CPU told me I needed to do an update. So I did it as usual and had no issues until I started trying to watch You Tube. I've spent weeks researching everything I could find about removing possible things that are preventing You Tube from playing. Nothing has worked. I've turned off everything. Still nothing. The only thing that works is I'll keep hitting the "allow ads" and "refresh page" buttons in the notice that pops up. Sometimes it only takes once for it to play, sometimes I have to keep doing it for 5 minutes straight before it plays.

DNS Best Setup

Hello My Friends, Hope You're Doing Great, Sorry May I Ask A Question , I Recently Had An Experience With Firefox + UBlock And Honestly It Was Incredible , Not Even 1 Ad Was Able To Go Through And I Liked It Very Much, But The Issue Is I Am And Apple Ecosystem User (IPhone And MacBook) , And The Best So Far I Found To Block Ads Without Using Any Apps Is AdGuard DNS, But Of Course Is Not Near Efficent As Firefox + UBlock, I Tried To Add UBlock Filters To AdGuard DNS But Soon Found Out That It Doesn't Offer Custom Blocklists, (Now I Use On AdGuard DNS - OISD BIG, Hagezi Pro++ ) So May I Please Ask Maybe You Is There A Way To Recreate As Near Efficency To FireFox + UBlock With DNS ( Not Mandatory AdGuard DNS ) Experience As Possible As A Apple User Or Is My Setup The Best I Can Get With DNS? Thank You, Appreciate That👍

I have been using Firefox with Ublock origin and I was bored so I'm on youtube searching for that cute Hershey's commercial thats like 50 seconds long that plays on TV's every Christmas. and the Ad's wanted to play by force but they kept on playing with no timeline or skip button displayed or no sound. so I refresh the page in the middle of that and it happens again but theres sound and the ad is going through.....but it wasn't an Ad...it was a full damn music video as an ad! for a 50 second 1989 commercial I wanted to watch! has this happened to anyone? where the ad is literally a music video....HOW? WHY?

Any abandoned browser extensions out there?

Hey folks,

Posting for a friend who’s an engineer and looking for a side project to work on for fun. He’s super into ad-blocking and privacy tools and wants to take over a browser extension with a solid user base that’s been abandoned or isn’t actively maintained anymore.

He’s got some funds to invest (thanks, recent crypto boom lol) and wants to revive something cool and make it even better for users.

If you know of any extensions like this (or are a dev open to chatting about selling), let me know! Drop a comment or DM me, and we’ll chat

Cheers,

Total Adblock site is broken...

I've been trying to delete my account with them and their website is broken.
It is a column of text, links highlighted as blue, but they do not work.
It does show I have none of their software installed.

I did send an email to their complaint address and got a robo response.
A day later a "human" named Dean, supposedly an Account Manager, emailed me with the same info the robo response had. The links to their site in those messages did not work.

Also "Dean" sent from an address, which blocks replies.

Recently Youtube has been stopping at exactly 1:00. AB testing?

Right at the top: Ublock Origin and Firefox user.

Over the past day or so my youtube videos all of a sudden started ceasing to load at exactly 1:00 on the mark. I can skip around a bit as I load the video but it seems like after one minute of playtime it locks up. I have Internet Download Manager and if I attempt to capture the video at this point I get some kind of IP address forbidden error. It also bears mention that I'm able to use Enhancer for Youtube to load up a pop-up instance of the video and then it'll successfully play and I can capture it with IDM.

Has this been going on for anyone else? Is it perhaps some AB testing? Presumably Ublock origin will eventually come around and fix it, I hope...

Can Adblock developers please start a war on shorts, for the love of humans?

We need a sustained effort that can help block all Youtube Shorts , Tik Toks, and Facebook Reels, etc.

Or at least supress them A LOT.

We need a pushback on this, like Yesterday.

It is not ideal to have to switch to a third-party youtube/facebook app or use workarounds like that. We need multiple attack vectors to be able to, as an end-user, massively de-boost shorts on both computers and mobile phones.

It looks like YouTube has found a way yet again to get around Ublock. Mind you , they aren't full fledged ads. Banking app on android gets blocked using advised private DNS, ffs.

Augh autocorrect on title should be "Adguard" not "advised" ffs x2

I'm currently using AdGuard DNS (dns.adguard-dns.com) to block ads on my Android device, but I'm running into issues with just one specific bank app not working properly with it. I don't want to keep toggling Private DNS on and off every time I need to use these apps, as it's really inconvenient. Are there any workarounds this?

Can anyone suggest alternative DNS providers that focus specifically on blocking ads and trackers and are accessible by hostname (not IP addresses)? I need something as close to dns.adguard-dns.com as possible that can still filter out ads effectively without causing connectivity issues with other apps or losing speed (I tried a bunch of others but they were incredible slow to bring up a bunch of websites I frequent)

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

Consequences of adblocking

Out of curiosity, besides youtube taking a stance against ad blockers by reducing performance and whatnot, has there been instances of users being banned of a platform for using an ad blocker?

For example, using a revanced version of an app and signing in could clearly flag a specific user, allowing the operators of a platform to take targeted actions against that user. Has that ever happened?

The best one is Adguard even for safari and Macs!

I was first using Ad blocker plus hoping it would block everything in safari but it YouTube hacked it down and it wouldn't work. But I saw a reddit post talking about Adguard and I used it and OMG it is actually the best one ever!! I am extremely impressed.

You can customize which websites you want it on which was so amazing for me and downloads into your computer itself so it blocked other ads that would be on different apps. My biggest problem was YouTube obviously because YouTube started to check to see if you had an adblocker but AdGuard was actually a life saver and it really did the job for me. I've been using AdGuard for like 3 months now and I am so willing to continue to use it. It also actually works on my phone too which was such a nice edition. I absolutely and totally recommend it. Extremely reliable. In the past few weeks for myself, 62,823 ads were blocked and I had 116,117 trackers blocked. And apparently I save 4.9 Gbs saved!

Is that not the best thing ever. I compare the level of support and app development to that of Apple. I'm happy to be their customer and cant find evidence of the company overstepping its guidelines. I couldn't find an app audit, this would probably justify a lot. The app is actually a multi-threat- it has VPN, ad block, and a bunch of other things. Not needing to have multiple apps is great.

I also use AdGuard to stream in other websites and it literally blocks every ad link if you know what im talking about. I think the feature I liked the most was the one where it asks if I would like to use ad guard for each website. It makes it easier to organize my websites.

My way to "block" youtube ads

I'm on laptop so when I click on a video I want to watch and the 1st thing that is served to me is an ad, I swipe with two fingers to the left than to the right pretty quickly on my trackpad "equivalent of quickly going to the previous page then to the one I was at" and it skips the ad.

I've also started being aware of where the progress of the video is on the progress bar so that if I get an ad in the middle of the video I can remember where I was at and go back to it (when going to the previous page and back to the video you were at, the progress cancels and the video starts from the beginning).

This is the only was I found that doesn't necessitate an adblocker of any sort (because they make watching videos hell for me with all the stuttering and whatnot), or paying for premium (and I've seen that even with premium you can get ads?)

Multiple adblocks

Is it useful to have mumtiple adblocks? In my search for an adblock that works on youtube, I added new adblocks without removing the ones previously installed. I think I have about 3 adblocks at the moment, and it works great. I don't have any ads at all, youtube doesn't give those "flashes" of ads or popups about disabling adblock. The only downside is when you can't acces sites with adblock and I have to disable them one by one.

Can the combination of multiple adblocks really have added benefit, or is it just one of them doing all the heavy lifting?

Adblock billed me $5.99 a month without my permission

I used to support AdBlock, but frqnkly, their aggressive full-page reminders of how many ads they had blocked and asking for money -- even after I had contributed -- were so obtrusive, I had had it. I thought I had turned AdBlock off a year ago, and then when I looked at my credit card statement I realized I had been paying them (through paddle.com) $5.99 for three months. Luckily I did it through PayPal and it was easy to block further payments, although PayPal will not work very hard getting me my money back. So How do I make sure Adblock is off (If I don't want to pay, I shouldn't use it) and I stop getting their full page requests for more money????

Why is discord requesting through my TV?

I'm really confused, i'm using Adguard DNS, trying to make a filter list to block youtube ads, and i'm seeing requests from discord from my tv? I don't even have discord on my tv and i don't think its possible, why is this happening? https://imgur.com/a/0Rui8Ls

Redirects are not getting blocked on 'Ubo Lite' and neither are the brave shields working

This is about the website 9anime.org.lv

The thing is that I use firefox on all my devices with the original ublock origin and there's not a single issue. Ubo is blocking everything as usual.

But on one of my android devices, I've to use a chromium based browser so I'm using Quetta with ublock origin lite and it redirects me everywhere possible with this site. Random APKs are asking for the pemission to get downloaded. Same thing is happening with brave and kiwi browsers too.

Can someone help me with this?

How to block "Pie Adblock" ad on youtube?

I'm aware it's by the guy that made Honey. Don't care. I like my current adblock, and don't want to see the ads for another one.

Screenshot of what the ad looks like
