Adblocking on tv

So i recently got a xiaomi tv and I have no idea when it comes to tv software and I want to block ads on youtube and Twitch. What's the easiest way to do that. A browser with extension support would help but I'm open to anything

Getting some breakthrough ads with Luna

Luna goes down sometimes for me, so I thought I'd pop on here and see if anyone else was in the same boat. Luna was working fine for me until today. I tried deleting and redownloading, but the issue hasn't changed. The only place I'm really getting ads is Youtube Music (which I'm ashamed to admit I use.) On the actual youtube app, no ads, weirdly enough.

Anyone else having issues?

How to block re-directs from just clicking on a blank space?

I am just clicking on a blank space on a website and it re-directs me to an ad.

I already have an adblocker built in to the browser I am using, but it's not blocking these pesky ads.

Now that twitch intends to increase its ADs time I have no more patience with it, recommend me some AdBlocks that works on it.

I don't have money to pay to all the channels I follow and I don't have any patience with her after this official announcement, so recommend me something that blocks these ads, preferably something that doesn't have "side effects" like slow buff or that damn purple screen with the phrase "Hello, if you're seeing this and you're not already on twitch tv, click here to get the best twitch experience."

Proxy/VPN that allows ad requests but blocks response?

This may be an odd request, but I was looking at pi-hole and was wondering if anyone knows of a VPN or a local proxy server that could be set up that allows the request for ads to go out, but blocks the response coming back? It seems like that would let the web sites I read still get their revenue, but I wouldn't have to actually see any ads. The drawback being that any tracking would still happen, and, if it's something I'd have to run on a system between my cable modem and wi-fi router, I'd still be using up bandwidth.

How do air stop YouTube ads in long instrumental or “white noise” videos?

There are several long videos I have saved to a play list that are just “white noise” to keep me focused at work; a thunderstorm in a forest, a train ride, beach sounds, compilations of stings pieces, etc.

As of three days ago, these videos will be interrupted every 5 minutes with ads that range from 5 second unskippable to 3 minute skippable. They break the calm the videos try to create and it is rather jarring to go from listening to soft rain to some guy screaming about car insurance.

How do I stop these ads from interrupting the videos?

Using adguard's dns causing Internet to freeze and not working.

I've been using the dns.adguard.com since a month and the issue started a week ago.

So whenever I turn on the mobile data, some apps show connected to network and many don't (these are the same apps I've been using with no data interruption before)

I was so fed up I tried various things and discovered that putting the private dns server settings to "off" cleared the issue. So I am pretty sure it's the adguard dns that's stopping apps including Facebook lite, insta lite , duolingo etc

What do you suggest I should do? I really like using the dns as it doesn't let ads come through and ruin my experience.

Getting ads on twitch

For I believe a little over a year now I never got an ad on twitch, I didn't even have an adblocker or twitch turbo, no idea why but I didn't, didn't really question it. A few days ago I got my first ad on twitch in over year and now I get regular ads, no idea why, (I have an adblocker now too I got a few months ago for yt and other sites). I've also tried a couple adblockers made just for twitch and they either don't work at all or they constantly give me a with a 30 second unskippable purple screen saying something like they know I'm using an ad blocker and it may slow down my twitch every few mins, if you know an adblocker that works or any solution at all please let me know!

adguard DNS on Android

Why does my DNS settings on the system level automatically change to "dns.google" when I have DNS filtering turned on in the adguard app (which I'm paying for) . Also, sometimes I turn DNS off at the system level so adguard DNS filtering can work unobstructed. But sometimes, it automatically switches to dns.google and that ends up turning off the adguard DNS filtering which is an extra layer of protection. When I go to adguard check page it'll say adguard app or extension running, VPN not running, adguard extra running, and adguard DNS NOT running. Unless I manually go Into settings, turn off DNS, and refresh the page. Super annoying.

Why does this keep happening?

Alternate Player for Twitch - Some channels not working?

I've been watching one of the channels I follow, and for some reason I can't figure, the Alternate Player doesn't start. It works normally on every other channel, just not this one.

Is there a whitelist in the extension's setting somewhere that I'm not seeing that could be preventing it from triggering on this one channel? Some configuration file buried on the hard drive? I may have changed something for that channel years ago and now I can't find anything to change it back.

I have a very specific problem

So I was using a site that had one of those pop-up websites in it. (Click here to make sure you're not a robot kinda thing right?) and I tried to block the pop up. But instead the entire site layout got blocked and so I tried to set it right by going to the options and removing the elements from the filter.

But the new layout confused me and I took them off the filter list instead of unlisting them and now the site is stuck as a blank slate. How do I reverse this?

How to block Youtube ads on Samsung TV (2022)?

I recently bought a Samsung QN90A Neo 4K Smart neoQLED TV. Amazing TV coming with the Youtube app. But... Youtube is a disaster : 2 unskipable ads before every video! Sometimes, it's worst : survey before the ads, then ads, 2 min of the video, more ads, ads, ads etc. This platform became unbearable...

Blocking ads on a PC is super easy. Conversely, I spent weeks looking for a solution for my TV. Surprisingly, no efficient trick seems to exist! Especially for Samsung TV running on their own operating system.

I tried manually blocking URL on my router. It didn't work. I kept looking all over the internet and I couldn't find any simple solution except : buy YT premium, stream from your PC... There is also this piHOLE project but I'm not willing to invest into additional hardware (and piHOLE apparently doesn't work on YT).

Even tho the question was asked many times, according to my research, it was never addressed.

Question : Does anyone have a free and easy magic trick to block Youtube ads on a Samsung TV?

What’s the catch with Luna Adblock?

Now that Luna is working again I’m wondering why they provide this service. They say they don’t sell or share information but how is that possible if they don’t charge for this service?

I’m simply not going to believe they’re doing it for the sake of doing it because I’m sure it requires upkeep and money to keep the service running.

I’m mainly concerned about this because sometimes I’ll forget to turn off Luna after I’m done with YouTube and if I go on to sensitive areas (banking, social media, email, etc) there’s the possibility information can be compromised.

Anyone have insight about this?

I’ve been using a paid adblock forever on my iPad and decided to switch to something else hoping that it’ll help block stubborn IOS ads. I decided on adblock pro. Luna's Flaws!

Recently I've been noticing two issues with Luna which are slightly irritating to advise the least. I'm sure it's been pointed out before, but the random‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎‏‏‎disconnections not only disconnect the VPN itself but my phone from the wifi? Also it seems to false flag Snapchat messages being sent, and I have to disable it altogether if I want to reply to a snap or post on my story. Does anyone know of a fix and is the second one in particular a wider spread issue?

PSA:iOS Luna is now working (MUST follow these steps)

If you already have an iOS Luna vpn profile installed, delete it in settings as versions previous to today no longer work.

Then, go to Lina’s site & reinstall the profile,

Crucially you must now go into settings, general, about, certificate settings & enable it (doing this on older Luna vpn profiles does NOT work) you MUST redownload today & forward’s vpn profile.

Enjoy

Why do most websites no longer block users from viewing content if Adblock is enabled?

Does anybody know what has led to the recent shift in most sites to go from blocking users with Adblock enabled to them now just showing a pop-up warning the reader that they are losing money because of ad-block.

I figured there was a law passed banning it for some reason until I found the Kelley Blue Book website still has it implemented, now I’m wondering if it’s just a new wave of antiasshole design reform or if there are some new forms of regulation regarding Anti-Adblock
