Custom blocker causes extreamly slow startup for the brave browser, anyone have a work around

I'm refurring to this: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/customblocker/elnfhbjabfcepfnaeoehffgmifcfjlha?hl=en

extention. I've found that when i have it enabled my browser takes 5+ min to start up but works instently with it disabled. Does anyone have a workaround?
