Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've been using the AdBlock extension for opera gx and recently youtube has made the selfish decision to stop users from using adblock, anyone know of any workarounds?
Youtube can detect Opera adblocker pretty easily so I'm looking for an adblocker that can block youtube ads without triggering youtube.
Title says it all. I will go into more detail if needed.
I'm running Firefox, and no matter what Adblock or anti Adblock block I download, YouTube still tells me to fuck off, what's going here?

saw no one else talking about this so i thought i'd finally make a post about something for once, YouTube is refusing to load when i have uBlock Origin enabled, i disable it, youtube loads again, i use FireFox and the image below is how youtube loads with ublock enabled, i wanna know if anyone else is having thise problem or what people think of it, however this is a little concerning that youtube stops loading if you have an adblocker enabled, if that is the case, [link] [comments] |
I saw a report saying that if you continue to use Adblock your account will be banned from YouTube. Can anyone check if this is actually real? Since YouTube started this "anti-adblock" policy.
Hello, I have been using a combination of nextdns and adguard to block ads on my phone, but somehow, the playstore ads always make their way through. Even after looking at my connection logs, I cannot find out how those ads don't get detected. If anyone has any idea on how to block them, please do tell. They are very annoying.
So im using OperaGX adblock, so far so good, but there are those really REALLY annoying ads that open another tab making the one you were using refresh when you click on the page anywhere (especially on streaming sites) making you lose track to where you were. Is there any way of blocking those kind of "popup" ad?
I hope i explained myself right
Something I noticed over the past couple days while watching a video. The screen will go blank, and audio for an ad will start playing. There's nothing on the video bar that specifies it will be there, and if I refresh and go back to that same point, the ad won't play again.
As far as I know, my add-on is up to date. Is google pushing something new to fight ad-blockers?
Essentially title. I know using Chrome is probably not going to be helpful given that it's a Google product, and I'm willing to use Firefox just for YouTube it's just a pain in the butt to move over all of my passwords and everything so I'd love to find a solution for Chrome if it exists
Does anyone have a filter to block Pinned Gab Posts?
I use origin adblock I think it's called so is something different with YouTube or should I change to a different adblocker
If so which is best?

There is an ad. After every f****ng sentence. And then they have the audacity, to say: "So scroll on to see what it is" [link] [comments] |
If I am watching a video with ads and I have an ad blocker running what do I see when an ad runs?
I’ve been paying for premium because I can’t stand these predatory adverts. My premium has run out today and I was greeted by a shit ton of adverts. I don’t care if a good ad blocker costs over 200 a year. I’m not giving google a single penny from this point on. They can suck my dick before they get anything out of me again. Looking for a good ad blocker that works with no fuss. I know google are a bunch of cunts that are trying to kill ad blockers but there must be one that works.
If I have to watch another shit advert I’ll go fucking nuts.
Fuck Google and fuck YouTube. Also, fuck anyone that agrees with google/YouTube
The thing is just five minutes ago, a message appeared that the "Adblock para Youtube™" have malware, had been used for a long time and not sure why it happened suddenly and that it can't be activated, not even sure if it's related to "Adblock" but this is the only place I thought could be related, and when trying to check in chrome web store I got a 404 error.
Does anyone know anything?
Adblock Version 5.10.1 on Microsoft Edge Version 117.0.2045.31 (Offizielles Build) (64-Bit)
Green thumbs up shows, but doesn't acutally allow ads. Anyone else with this problem? NBD, just wondering if there's anything I can do. Thanks!
I've been using Adblock Suite and Adblock for Youtube for... gosh, about 1.5+ years, and I mean thankfully there are alternatives that still work, but these were my favorite, I even supported them, but now now even their sites exist now!
Anyone knoe whats going on?
(The hyperlinks are to repective site/information about the extension)

For those that want something similar to those that you might have used (I reccomend getting all of these on the following list):
All the links above go to there respective Chrome Extension page.
These are the adblockers I use myself personally, and I have so far had 0 issues with the years of using them.
Persistent script based pop-ups that detect adblock.
Hello, I'm an older guy and not very tech savvy...I just installed adaway on my smartphone and it's working fine as far as blocking most ads but it's doing one thing I don't like.
On certain entertainment or news websites where I like like to comment in the comment section, it's treating the comment section as an ad and completely blocking it out as if it's an ad, leaving a blank white space in it's place. I'm sure the fix is basic, could someone please explain how to correct this? Thanks!

So I read a lot of manga on my phone and I use an ad blocker to hide huge intrusive ads breaking up the pages and its been working great. Recently though my ad blocker has stopped working for a certain "online radio" pop-up and no other adblocker I install seems to be blocking it either. I literally can't dismiss it or minimize it, so it just stays there taking up my screen. Any help solving this would be super helpful since it pops up on a LOT of different scantilation websites using the same host. [link] [comments] |
I had a pinhole setup a while back and ditched it after a year because I found that it was useless.
On all my desktops I have unlock origin, phones have reVanced and that is it for most of my adblocking needs. What would a DNS adblocking setup improve? Okay it would block my Samsung Smart TV and a couple of other appliances from communicating home but that's it?
I saw people started using Adguard DNS, thoughts?
Hi! Is Luna VPN safe when it comes to privacy?
Also, the VPN on my iPad and iPhone keeps turning on on its own even after disabling it. Is it something you also experience?
A week ago, Luna VPN stopped the YouTube app working at all. I had to disable the VPN in order to use YouTube - with ads.
A few days later, Luna fixed the issue and it started working again.
Then 3 days ago, something strange happened. While the YouTube app still did work, in that videos would play without ads, it was partially broken in that all the other aspects of the interface would be blank. It would just be the basic video player, with none of the description, like buttons or comments.
Today I discovered that the reason was because I needed to update iOS to the latest version. Once I did so, everything worked just fine.
I’m leaving this post here as a public service announcement, in case this issue has arisen for anyone else.
I've got Adblock and Ublock and have no problems with anything except Twitch and have had problems with Twitch for months now. Are there any that will actually work with Twitch? So tired of how intrusive and often the ads are.
So, I have (or I guess had) an adblocker called "Adblock for YouTube" on my chromebook, and I just got a little pop up that said that it had malware and I uninstalled it. I haven't done a malware check yet (mostly cause I dont know how to) but I hope that I'm safe. If anyone else has gotten this malware message, please let me kno
I have been trying to write filters to block Quickbooks Online's ads, and popup helpers. Nothing seems to work. Can anyone help with this?
Do you guys have anyway in which I can block on the spotify app on linux system, specifically popos.
It was working fine til today.
Today I been getting either ADs still getting through and showing up in mid streams.
Or, there will be a 30+ sec black screen and ends with "video error, reload player" (almost every single time)...
Refreshing the stream page doesn't fix anything, the same 2 above happens.
(as a note, chat still moves even with the video error, lol)
First of all, does the chrome store still allow ad block type of extensions to be made and sold? I heard something about this changing in 2023.
Now onto the topic. I am going to have a developer make a chrome extension just like the adblock one. However, I would like to make it better than the original version. I need some value skews to do this.
So I am coming here to ask you guys what 2 to 5 things could be better about Adblock? These will be added to the different version.
its not just a simple popup anymore, if you watch 3 videos, it disables playing any video until you white list youtube
the easiest getaround is to open videos in incognito tab, but then you lose some "priviliges" (i like to use the feature that remembers when you were last time for example)
whats the deal with sites showing 1 script in a new site I goto, then when I temp allow it, it shows like 40+ other scripts wanting to run.
is this how things are or is this a shady tactic? trying to understand the reason for it to be slipped in like this.
I don’t know if this is related to the recent YouTube changes, but we’ll have to see. Is anyone else experiencing this? The YouTube app simply won’t recognise an internet connection is present. When I go into Settings and disable the VPN, YouTube immediately recognises the internet. But with ads, it’s unwatchable.
Last time something similar happened was last year, and it took Luna several weeks to fix it. I hope they’re now actively working on it again.

Hi guy's, I've been using Adblock plus and Sponsor Block on Chrome for a while now but recently YT keeps giving me these annoying pop ups every time I start a new video, after a few seconds I can close them and keep watching but it's getting irritating. I've tried using Ublock Origin instead but no luck, has anyone got a solution? [link] [comments] |
I use adblock on microsoft edge. When I watch youtube it still show some ads. I want my adblock to block EVERYTHING. How to get that luxury? I just got new laptop. On my old one I didn't have same issues, but I used google chrome. Thanks
I watch an animal rescue charity's channel and, since I can't afford to donate, I really want them to be getting ad revenue from me so that I can at least support them that way. I've used AdBlock's whitelist feature on the channel on my subscriptions page, but when I click on any videos the popup window shows that it's blocking ads. Sometimes it doesn't actually do this, but it'll ensure that whatever ad gets played will never be able to load. So I'll refresh the page and the ads will be gone as if it was any other video. Is there a way around this?
Or maybe there's a VPN that I can set on my router for filtering all the ads and malware?
Hello, I would like to know if it's the same for everyone, about a month ago YouTube made it impossible to block ads while watching videos. If I go to the section that previously allowed me to block an ad, and click on it, a message informs me that my choice has been heard and that the ad will stop immediately, except that in truth, the ad continues as if nothing had happened! This button no longer serves any purpose and I am forced to watch these ads, each lasting 15 to 30 seconds. Is it the same for everyone or just for me?
A webpage produces random elements like
##.inner > .f0d6a84dd30afb718ccd9af051546f68
so I can't block element with adblock/etc.
Does anyone know how the manual filter syntax works so I can add something myself? The actual ad displayed always contains the same text, but that text doesn't show up in "element".
I have good success ad-blocking and don't necessarily have any problems but i'm just wondering if there's anything else around that is available or something to keep an eye on for the future?
I'm aware of ublock origin, pihole, revanced, and other browsers e.g. brave.

I'm using firefox and ubloc origin updated, some time ago I had the issue with the "ad block" message from youtube but I fixed it by isntalling the Anti - adblock removal prompts but now I enter to Youtube and nothing is loading until I disable adblock... I know I will find the solution eventually but OMG Youtube stop being such... [link] [comments] |
How do you think ad blockers will deal with this new threat?
For me, Web3 isn't a thing on my network, and will remain that way. With that, I will be ratcheting up my firewall's blocking capability to stop this privacy and security nightmare from existing on my devices.
