Blockers not working
Over the last week all of my blockers have stopped working. I’m getting ads on YouTube, Hulu, and pretty much everywhere else. Noticed that they started after a Chrome update. What’s going on?

Ublock origin.
For some reason I'm getting ads whilst ublock origin is on and has updated filters. Is anyone else having the same issue. Is there a new version of ublock that is designed to fight this new trick that youtube is pulling?

AdBlocker Ultimate is injecting "Pie Adblock" ads into YouTube videos.
FYI, Pie Adblock is from the same scammy devs behind the Honey fiasco. Looks like they paid AdBlocker Ultimate good money to shove their VAST ads in front of YouTube videos, and no, these ads aren’t from YouTube itself.
Time to ditch AdBlocker Ultimate, they’ve officially proven they’re not trustworthy anymore.

how to convert ublock scripts
Hello, recently I saw someone modify a script from ublock to adblock and I like to ask if someone would be willing to help me too.

Youtube slowed down too much on firefox, and videos doesn't start with user agent changer
Hey guys, I was using firefox with ublock origin, privacy badger and user agent changer for a while now. It was fine, but recently videos slowed down too much that even on 360p they lag. My internet is fine. Probably user agent changer broke because it was on default, and I can't start yt videos with it's other options. Anyone experienced the same and have advice ? Thanks in advance

UBlock no longer supported

Any fix for reddit breaking when using Ublock?

Despite having several adblocks, Youtube still takes 9 seconds to try and load an ad, which is really annoying while I'm trying to listen to music, because there is a long pause between songs. Any fixes?

Why can't I see my detailed stats?
I am using Adbluck plus of Firefox on computer. I have the latest upgrade and even reinstalled it. But there is only one total ad stopped number, no where is that a detail state resource button (followed all directions to find it). Anyone have this issue? Anyone able to fix it?

Total Adblock problem!
I downloaded Total Adblock recently and whenever I open a new tab, Total Adblock opens a tab to upgrade it to premium. Is there any way to stop the ad from appearing? It is really annoying!

Still seeing ads even though Ublock is enabled??
This started 4 days ago somehow the ads are popping up even though i have Ublock.
this happens every 4 - 6 videos or so.
before asking i have No other adblockers even the Vivaldi build in adblocker is disabled.
no idea how this is happening and yes i did disable quick fix in the Ublock filter list.

Study Videos Without Ad Interruptions on Youtube - Do you have any videos?
Hi, I'm interested in finding videos that don't have ads (default settings, no added ad blockers or anything) for studying / focusing.
Like, consistently, 100% of the time, you click on the video and it gets right into it.
Some videos I use that are like this:
Videos by the channel "AVROTROS Klassiek"
"the Hidden Treasures of Royal Baroque Music!! BACH, VIVALDI, CORRELLI.." by the Channel "Chamber Music"
Is there an easy way to find more of these kinds of videos or do you know of any?

Thorium with uBlock works fine (so far..)
Idk if this will help anyone but (for me at least) thorium with simple uBlock origin installed works fine with every page (i did not tweak any settings) . Mainly YouTube adblocking works fine, so far
Thorium is a chromium fork. It's basically chrome but better imo its faster and yh ad blocking works fine. I even have sponsor blocks working fine in YT with it. So if anyone wants to experience chrome with still adblocking i would suggest trying out thorium.
(I am not promotimg it or anything its clearly free, and it may not have specific features so do check)

Absolutely do not download PIE adblocker
PIE adblocker likely steals ad revenue from the twitch or YouTube channels you watch with it, that's how they make their money. They also selectively show you ads if a company pays them extra to 'bypass' their adblocker. Very similar to the malicious ways Honey made money, makes sense since the same people made it.

Put bad reviews on all the products we see an ad for so the advertisers would retire (youtube)
Idk if someone already had this idea before, but
If every time we see an ad, we click on it and put a bad review, like
"I haven't tried your product but seeing its ad wasted 15 seconds of my time, so it deserve this bad note ★☆☆☆☆ #NoAdsOnYoutube"
If we're enough people doing this, companies will get more bad reviews than genuine clients, so they'll stop advertising on youtube. Then youtube will have to stop forcing users to see ads to make advertisers come back.
Google can't do anything against that, they obviously won't block clicking on ads.
Since it's out of youtube they can't even punish users doing this.
Maybe create an extention to automatise this would be a good idea.
(well, making bots that aren't easily detectable is not easy, but at least making an extension that save all ads in a playlist or the bookmarks to be bad-reviewed later would be fine)
If you think that it would work, share this to the most people you can, it'll work only if we're enough people.

I'm beginning to believe Pie AdBlock is a scam after the Honey Scam Allegations
If anyone is wondering about the Honney Scam allegations, look up Megalag on YouTube. His most recent video is about how Honey deceives customers, YouTubers, and maybe businesses (I believe he will go into this in his next video).
With Pie Adblock being made by the same people as Honey and marketed as such, I believe they are most likely Scaming or deceiving Customers somehow; I have removed the extension and recommended that others do so as well.

Pie Adblock?
I have adblocker on my mac and it works okay except for lately on youtube, which is fine, I just hit refresh, however what's this pie adblock thing? Anyone use it? Free? Good?
I live in the US but visit The Bahamas (where I'm from, parents still here) often and debating installing tailscale on something so I can just 'vpn' here and get 0 ads on everything.
But if pie is good let me know!

Just an FYI to ad-block companies. I will never use and ad-block service that I see in ads, out of principle alone.
When I see your videoless ad sneak through my ad-blocker in the perpetual back and forth between ad-blockers and Youtube I don't think you are cleaver or better than the ad-blocker I am using. What I am thinking is that I am annoyed and I am seeing your garbage service and I'm linking the two. If you wanted to create negative association in ad-block users that's how you do it.
If you had a service that was better than uBlock or adNauseum word of mouth alone would be enough to get users like it did for those services. So please stop wasting your money no one is uninstalling their ad blocker to install your worse one they just got advertised to about.
Edit: I won't name the service that was advertised here but scrolling down I see people complaining about their shadiness. Which figures for a scummy advertiser.

Just trying to block a
Why is this always so ridiculously hard? I'm trying to block the element <div data-sanitized-class="kg-card kg-audio-card">. This should be easy, it's one div, it doesn't change. I tried the rules "##div[data-sanitized-class="kg-card kg-audio-card"]" and "##div[data-sanitized-class*="cardkg"]" neither of them worked. What am I missing?
Also, why is there no simple extension that lets me just paste in an entire element (like the full div as the full text of "<div data-sanitized-class="kg-card kg-audio-card">") and have it removed? Why does every type of extension like this insist on having you rewrite the element into some completely different form with periods and brackets?

There must be something about Adblockers
Guys i just downloaded PIE ad blocker and im very doubtful. It blocks all the apps and wants nothing from us, so there must be something behind it. Also if you check the web permissions you'll there is "Payment handlers" checked as "ALLOW", if this is not late, block it ASAP.
I just removed it and wanna say don't trust things if you use them for free and they want nothing from you, especially when "Payment handlers" is allowed.

Black window and buffering before every youtube video (Mozilla+uBlock)
Hello there,
yesterday I noticed that before I play any youtube video instead of the video immediately starting I see a black window with a text of an commercial that uBlock managed to somehow block but not completey and the buffering circle for about 5-10 seconds, then the video starts playing. What do I need to do ? I tried opera GX and Brave both with uBlock, happens there as well. What do I need to do to fix it ? It is annoying beyond imagination.

On every Substack page, first there's a popup asking you to subscribe, and once you're past that there's a smaller popup repeating the beg, as you scroll down the page.
Haven't found a way around either. Any ideas?

Pie scam or not?
Is pie Adblock a scam? I’ve seen multiple posts of the same question, but the answers seem suspicious. The usernames all say “deleted.” Even the ones from 1 day ago. Meaning they made an account, bragged about a product, then immediately deleted the account. So has anyone actually used it? Is it a scam?

youtube premium or adblocker?
i had Adblock Plus since 2021 on my desktop. never got ads on my youtube (desktop browser) for years and somehow on my youtube app(android) as well. i am not so good at being techy - did not realize i wasnt getting ads until a friend pointed it out to me if i had youtube premium. last week obviously i started getting ads already, read it here too.
now, i am using Firefox browser on my android, added extension ublock origin. it's fine but i really want the app experience just like before. my question goes back to the title. i am quite determined to pay for adblock (if cheaper than ytb ofcourse) if there's an adblocker that would give me the same thing. maybe some kind of a vpn idk im not so bright about this. i dont care about ytb music or downloading videos on ytb. i just hate the ads.
any advice, recommendations or enlightenment about adblockers would be helpful. just to add: i want to experience the youtube app not other apps cos i read about revanced and grayjay. i dont think i want to do that. thanks in advance!

I used to have complete Adblock across any device I used my YouTube account, regardless of what device it was on. Suddenly I regained the ads. I have no clue how I got it, and I have no clue how the ads have come back. Any ideas what could have happened?

Black screen keeps showing when ublock is turned on.
This has happened since about 3-4 weeks ago here in Opera GX. Whenever it tries to play a video with ads, it shows me 15-50 seconds of black screen before it plays the video, which means I suspect something is wrong with Ublock or YouTube itself. Are there any fixes for this yet?

Firefox+uBlock Origin doesn't block any ads
At least not for my friend. YouTube, twitch, or whatever website, they all have ads even with uBlock enabled.
It works perfectly fine for me, which is what confuses me.
Is there any setting that could be a reason for this? Tried uninstalling and installing new, doesn't work. Any other AdBlock also doesn't work. They tried Opera GX as a browser with it's own AdBlock included and that also doesn't work.
How do I fix this?

How to block YT ads
I always had yt with no ads for free until this morning, it was on my entire account and spanned on all devices (worked like premium). I think it was a glitch that lasted for a year+ and now I realize it sucks to not have that so had could I enable that again? Preferably I'm my on Google account but if you have different methods for mobile (android) and Samsung TV that would also be appreciated.

Adblock-Plus doesn't seem to stop Youtube ads any more.
Hey friends, sorry if this topic is old or lame, I just wanna get some quick advice if possible.
I've been using Adblock-Plus for years, and it always seemed to be great. I paid for the premium version 2 or 3 years back because I wanted to support the creators.
Since the last couple of Chrome updates it seems to have little effect on Youtube ads now. I uninstalled and reinstalled, made no difference.
Can someone confirm if it's a case of the software no longer cutting the mustard, or is it me somehow.
The ads on Youtube drive me freaking crazy, so I need something that works. Is uBlock Origin effective in Chrome? Or only in Firefox? I used Firefox for years and thought it was great, I just finally succumbed to Google and started using Chrome 'cos everyone I knew did and it seemed to work best with video chat, and then there's all the bells and whistles etc. Don't really wanna have to go back to Firefox but I will if that's what it takes

It’s a disaster to watch YouTube without ad blocker.
I don’t use any Ad blocker before and I can accept there are some Ads when watching YouTube before. I’m a free user, and it was not interrupting.
I hear there are so many complains about how bad the experience is when watching YouTube nowadays but I seldom watch long videos so I was not aware of how bad it is now.
And when I was watching a long tutorial guide video on YouTube, it’s like a boring stuff which is trying to get your attention from the video all the time (I think it’s good if it’s a interesting one lol). It’s quite distracting and annoying. Ad comes out like every five minutes and it’s hard to concentrate. I don’t think it’s a good thing for YouTube also since it’s truly hard to keep staying in the video without so many Ads and interruptions.
It’s just terribly bad. And I’m wondering is it able to use a Ad blocker nowadays to keep me away from those Ads since I saw some news about what YouTube is doing to fight those Ad blockers. Or is it the only way to remove those Ads by subscribing to Premium?
Appreciate for anyone that can help. I’m extremely disappointed by the experience of YouTube from hell. 😫

How to uninstall??
I feel so stupid and humbly come asking for advice. All i wanted to do was play games without any ads. I believe i looked on Reddit and found instructions on how to install an Adblocker into my extensions on my iPhone. I followed the instructions and it worked! But now i would like to remove it as i don’t play games anymore but it’s not listed under my extensions. I know it’s still active though because anytime i google something i can’t click any of the sponsored links. I can’t find the original post but i remember it downloaded directly to my iPhone via my settings app. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it? :(

Android ad blocker that works with Facebook (either app or through browser)?
I'm currently using a S22 Ultra and I've tried everything to get rid of ads in Facebook. I'm exclusively using Firefox and running uBlock Origin and using Facebook through Firefox. I've tried running extensions like Social Fixer and SocialFocus with no success. I can't seem to get rid of ads on Facebook despite running adblocks and extensions that have worked on my computer.
I'm interested in trying a custom DNS server to see whether I can get rid of ads in Facebook completely but I'm not willing to shell out money unless I know it's going to work. It's ironic that I can bypass youtube ads in Firefox using uBlock but I can't bypass Facebook ads. Has anyone had luck using a custom DNS server or can recommend another service to remove ads completely from Facebook? Thank you for your help.

Youtube Adfree on WebOS - quality not very good?
Hey all, I just got a fancy new LG TV and I'm very annoyed that it doesn't have all the functionality of Android TV. That said, I installed Youtube Adfree but has anyone else noticed there is a drop in quality and framerate with youtube via this app vs. the the native one? Is there any way to fix this or is this unique to me? Even the thumbnails are pixelated.

Pie couldn't block the ad made by pie on youtube lmfao

Pie AGGRESIVELY pushing ADs on Youtube.
I've noticed it the past few days that it just keeps coming up to the point that it's honestly starting to become irritating. Talk about becoming what you hate, I'm just wondering if it's a scam at this point because of other things I've heard regarding it like it not working at all to even block ads.

Why is Pluto TV the only one that doesn’t work with adblocker? Hulu works, no ads, Peacock works, no ads, even Fawesome TV works, no ads, Pluto, oh and Freevee don’t work.

Youtube stop tryna block ads after installing firefox
Hi there, I went onto youtube via chrome and youtube detected adblockers, but as soon as I downloaded firefox, and signed in, they stopped stopping my adblockers on chrome. Are they tracking me?

Is Pie Adblock safe?
I've always heard the saying, "if it's free, then you're the product." Does this apply to Pie, in that they use data collected from you to be sold? This is my biggest concern with the extension, as seeing how much they advertise it seems a bit sketchy.

Pie Adblock Doesnt work (at least for me)
With Youtube's crackdown on ads, I got lots of ads for Pie AdBlock, so I decided why not try it out, It worked for about a week, Now I get ads again. I haven't uninstalled it or changed any settings, It just stopped working. This is more a warning then asking for help because it flat out doesn't work

uBlock just stopped working, any suggestions for alternatives?
I am writing this just as it occurred for me. I was using YouTube and had uBlock installed on my browser and when I clicked another video, the adblock bad screen came up and is staying no matter what video I click on. Are there any other blockers we know of that currently work?

Looking for something like Newpipe but with YouTube Acc sync function
I am okay even if it is different from what I am looking for as long as it serves the same purpose.
NewPipe, in my opinion, is the greatest and the best as long as you are okay with not being able to sync with your YouTube acc. That's the only one thing that I find a bit disappointing. Apart from that, I love it. Here is my use case. I am self-studying programming these days. So, I go to YouTube and find tutorials on respective subjects, which are usually at least 45 mins long even for a short one. I don't watch the whole tuto on official YT. I just make a list of playlists and share it to Newpipe. There in Newpipe I can peacefully watch and learn without interruptions and distractions. OR you can directly find videos on Newpipe too and save those videos into a playlist. Since I am quite used to YT search algorithms, I prefer to search videos for subjects I want to learn on official YT. On laptop, I just use edge + uBlock Origin. This combo never fails to serve the purpose of blocking ads on YT and other sites as well. You may still see some ads if you use chrome + uBlock Origin. Is there any workarounds?

I just saw an ad on YouTube for Pie Adblock
The irony is quite thick. I am using Vivaldi which doesn't have as good native ad-blocking ability as Brave which is my primary browser, so that's probably how the ad got through at all.

Remove Hulu Ads in App
Hello I have subscribed to the Hulu Plan with Ads. Now I'm okay with Ads but this is too much. I get one every 5-10 Minutes and it takes 1:30-3:00. Is there any way to get rid of them? On my Laptop I just use an Hulu Ad Blocker Add on which fast forwards them and works great. On Phone I'd like to use the App because the interface is a lot better than the Desktop Version in Browsers. I have NordVPN and tried Threat protection but it didn't help. Thank you

Block ads on YouTube without (a) adding extension (b) switching browser from Chrome
Wondering if the advertisements on YT can be blocked (or videos from YT can be streamed on some other website sans ads). Don't wan't to add any extensions as they typically slows downs your browsing speed while taking up space. Neither do I want to switch to Firefox or Brave or any other browser just to watch YT videos!

Adaway (root) Block lists on Android 14
Is there anyway to extend the ad blocking on adaway, its hit and miss. Ive read you can feed it a bigger list but can't find a tutorial on how to do it. I cant simply download a hosts file and paste it to system/etc/ because it throws an error aboit not having space which is a lie but I think its a security thing. I see a way to add to the lost but when you have a 35MB hosts file it is not practical to add each domain, address etc one at a time.

Seeking the name of lost desktop youtube player in a HD crash
Hello - I lost an app in a recent computer total system failure. I checked my most recent backup and the app I used isn't there in my applications. I got referred it from reddit and yet despite hours on hours of searching I just can't find it so I'm hoping someone here can maybe help me?
It's a desktop application (I run MacOS) called that I believe is called [Something]Box and it plays youtube, bittorent which you can se other programs without any issues.
It's exactly what I need and I've tried "Media Box" "Movie Box." and things like that but those arent related youtube/stream.
Apologies is this is the wrong place for this but I cant figure out the right set of words to search but it worked so well and the only failure was my laptop.

Pie Adblocker - Looks sketchy?
There's a saying: if a service is free, you are the product. This isn't perfect, open source community good projects like Ublock are a bit of a different thing, as they're made by users for users.
Pie doesn't fit that description. It's clearly got a company behind it that wants to make money, and it's putting out advertisements, lots of them. I don't trust it, but with Google doing its best to kill existing adblockers, I'm looking into other options. Has anyone had experience with Pie?
Note: I've seen other people ask this question, and the creator of Pie has responded. Let me be clear right now, Ryan aka u/ketau, I am asking this question because I do not trust you or your product. Telling me that it's totally legit and that I should stop worrying is going to make me MORE suspicious, not less, so maybe just don't say anything at all, okay? If it's as good as you claim, someone else will do that for you.

Making an ad blocker for Roku
I'm getting sick of Youtube giving me 2 minute unskippable ads every 5 minutes I watch. I read that a raspberry pi can be used to make an ad blocker but I've never done it before, how could I go about doing this? Would I need to program my own app or is there something I can download/piggy back off of. Once I get an adblocker on the pi how do I make the roku run on or through it so that I don't get ads on it. Also I've heard YouTube is cracking down on ad blockers and won't allow you to watch videos if one is detected so how can I bypass this or make it undetectable?
I've seen people use Pi hole but since it's DNS based it won't work for youtube ads i guess? what type of ad blocking method should I be looking at for the roku version of Youtube?

so I know this is a tall order but I was hoping someone would know of a completely free (not freemium) app that blocks ads on ios apps, not on browsers? I'll provide a picture screenshot with this message but yeah I keep getting this notice on You Tube that says "Looks like you're running an adblocker. Select allow ads and hit refresh to watch the video"... So, check it, I don't have an adblocker. This crap didn't start happening until a month ago when my CPU told me I needed to do an update. So I did it as usual and had no issues until I started trying to watch You Tube. I've spent weeks researching everything I could find about removing possible things that are preventing You Tube from playing. Nothing has worked. I've turned off everything. Still nothing. The only thing that works is I'll keep hitting the "allow ads" and "refresh page" buttons in the notice that pops up. Sometimes it only takes once for it to play, sometimes I have to keep doing it for 5 minutes straight before it plays. [link] [comments] |

Twitch ads are back...
I use ublock origin on chrome - getting twtich ads again, this happens periodically...
I added these two things to my filters list:
tv##+js(twitch-videoad)
twitch.tv##+js(twitch-videoad))
And did a few steps that were mentioned in the past. Not sure if I need to change something? I always forget how to fix this.

Random ringing ever since installing AdBlock, even after uninstalling AdBlock
Ever since I installed AdBlock (after the first time, in fact), Microsoft Edge has been randomly ringing every 5-15 minutes, even after uninstalling AdBlock. The sound doesn't display as coming from any tabs. Restarting the computer and clearing history/cookies didn't help.
