⚠️ Stop Using Chrome ⚠️

Hello friends, I just want to say, please stop using chrome. I dont know why people are still using it.

Just switch to Firefox and use it with a good adblocking extension and a dns blocking tool. Also stop using Google search and use DuckDuckGo without any ads (disable in settings)

My tips:

DNS:

  1. NextDNS (limited to 300K Queries)
  2. ControlD FreeDNS
  3. Adguard Public DNS

Extensions:

  1. Ublock Origen
  2. Adguard
  3. Sponsorblock (optional)

Browser:

  1. Firefox (not chromium and supports adblockers)
  2. Brave (chromium but supports Manifest V2 extensions)

Search Engine:

  1. DuckDuckGo

  2. Startpage

IOS:

Use a tweaked YouTube app with Altstore

Thats how u wil get a ad free experience.

Updated method to bypass youtube's ad blocker detection

Save time by blocking advertisements

Important note: I have posted this guide before! I am the original maker of the guide. I am posting this again because I saw an increase in people having problems/asking questions. This is to spread the word of the solution, and not to karma farm. I just want to spread the word and help people ;) Having said this, let's get to the point.

As you probably know youtube is constantly updating their methods to "detect" the usage of adblockers. And since we'd all rather waste our time on watching actual videos instead being interrupted by advertisements.
But! The internet wouldn't be the internet if we didn't find a solution for this "problem".

If you think that it's 'too difficult' or 'too much work', you're probably forgetting the "compound effect"
Simple scenario: Let's say you get 20 ads a day averaging 20 seconds while watching youtube video's. That's almost 7 minutes per day, which doesn't seem like too much at first glance. But if you use youtube every day, that's over 40 hours per year.

So it's time to put on your grown-up hat and follow these 6 simple steps.

Step 1: Turn off all browser extensions (which are related to adblocking and/or youtube). Remove or temporary disable any ad blocker you might have (This is to prevent potential interference) After that restart your browser.

Step 2: Install the browser extension uBlock Origin. (Do not install the wrong Ublock extension! The extension is called Ublock Origin, and nothing else.)

Step 3: Go to uBlock origin dashboard. (Click on the uBlock origin extension which should be somewhere on the top right of your browser toolbar. If you don't see it, it might be under extensions. Click on the "puzzle" icon named extensions and it should be there. After clicking on the uBlock origin icon a menu should pop-up. In the bottom right corner you should see 3 gears. Click on that to open the dashboard.

Step 4: Click on the tab "My Filters"

Step 5: Copy and paste the following code and save the changes.

youtube.com##+js(set,yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false)
youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0)
youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, [])
youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)

Step 6: Restart your browser and enjoy ad free youtube.

Extra notes:

If it doesn't work try the following:

Uninstall ublock origin and reinstall. (Don't forget to add the filter again)
Check for interfering extensions. (youtube enhancers / adblockers)
Empty your cache.

Enjoy :)

Is anyone else having trouble with LunaVPN after the latest update?

For the last few months LunaVPN hasn’t been blocking ads in the YouTube app on my iPad or iPhone. At first, I wasn’t too concerned as this has happened before, and the people that run this adblocker do a good job of updating it when something messes up. After researching, I discovered it was due to Google updating their methods for ads on YouTube. I downloaded Viddle as a substitute to use until LunaVPN updated their adblocker, but this app is nowhere near as efficient as the YouTube app as it has various bugs. Last week, I saw that Luna had replied to previous redditors stating that their vpn was working again. I redownloaded it and went through the steps like usual to install the profile and enable the root certification in the certificate trust settings. This method works for various apps and google chrome, but it is not working in the YouTube app which is what I mostly use it for. I’ve attempted to restart my device and reinstall the YouTube app multiple times as the latest post says to do if the Adblock is not working, but I’ve had no success. Luna also mentioned in their update that it can take up to 12 hours for the vpn to work, but does that mean I have to leave my phone on constantly for the adblock to work? Is anyone else having this issue or have I done something wrong?

Below is a copy of LunaVPNs recent reply:

Hi @user, we have implemented a fix that restores blocking on YouTube. Note that after turning the VPN on, it may take some time before the YouTube adblocking goes into effect (up to 12 hours), but usually much shorter.

Alternatively, you may delete / reinstall the YouTube app to force the VPN to immediately use the updated adblocking method if you prefer.

Any other YT adblockers similar to LUNA VPN? read more below for clarity.

Hey, so I wondered if there is another type of adblocker that would be similar to Luna adblocker on the internet using the iOS profile installation method which uses root certificate to block the pesky YT ads!

The reason I wondered if there is another option is because the Luna adblocker doesn't really work particularly well at blocking normal ads. It does block ads on YT natively within the YT app, but it doesn't really block anything else better than a regular DNS adblocker like AdGuard.

I would like to know if there's another option, specifically a DNS adblocker that has a perhaps a root certificate included in the profile to theoretically help it to block the same domain ads such as YT for example

From my understanding, there isn't this type of thing available on the Internet.

I wondered is this even possible to do? Like could someone theoretically make a profile extension to let's say AdGuard DNS profiles to add in a root certificate so it could block YT ads, Instagram ads, Twitter ads, etc.?

Because Luna only blocks YT ads and it's iffy at best still (stutters at a lot with the VPN enabled).

So, again I ask, I wonder if a DNS adblocker with the correct root certificate could theoretically block the same domain ads like in YT and such.

Any information would be amazing!

And from my understanding there still isn't any other option than Luna sadly... JUST WONDERED IF Y'ALL KNOW ANY SOLUTION*

*Also side note!!!!!!!! Please read this. I'm fully aware that there are sideloaded options for YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, etc. that have these tweaks to block ads. And I'm also aware that there are adblockers for Safari and there are other browsers on the App Store to do the exact same thing to block ads for the services I mentioned!!! I've already tried those methods.

and I'd like to use the main apps that they offer INSTEAD. Hence why I wanna know if there's a better version of a Luna adblocker out there such as a DNS one with a correct root certificate that helps with the same domain ads from various services such as YT.

Ive been having problems with ad blockers not working

I Didnt find anyone having the same trouble as me, i tried everything but youtube doesnt work properly for me, the only last resort for me looks like factory reset.

What happens is that no adblocker can block the ads, ads will play as they are in videos so youtube will just go blank, i tried adding custom filters to uBlock, i tried many differentr browsers with built in ad blockers and many different ad blockers, none of those worked, sometimes it just completely broke youtube, i tried adding scripts to tampermonkey but none of these can solve my problem.

Adblock w/o installed adblocker

I'm an entirely new user, just wondering what happened to my system. I am running a Samsung Galaxy s23 with no known system modifications.

I installed an adblocker roughly two years ago then uninstalled it shortly after because it hadn't worked.

Since then I have never had an ad in my browser or any mobile apps (some exceptions such as chrome and yt, though WebView yt has no ads) In addition to this, apps that require ads don't run, adbanner links on chrome don't work and optional ads in games refuse to run. I have no clue what adblock I installed but was curious if anyone here knew what happened.

Again, new user, sorry if I say/said anything wrong. If you'd like to see an app running on system, just ask, I can probably? Send video.

Now that uBlockOrigin has been removed from the Chrome store, is there anyway to use it in Chrome or will I have to use Friefox to use it?

I mean, as far as I know, there's a feature in Chrome where you can download the extension from a third party and then you can upload it manually to chrome without the need of the Chrome store, is it still available? Can it work with uBlockOrigin?

I really can't move to Firefox, all my bookmarks and passwords and everything else is on Chrome. I know I can move them to Firefox but it's still impossible considering that I use Chrome browser for Android and they are synced together. Firefox Android version is the worst, I can't use it.

Side not: I used to use Firefox over Chrome back in 2015-2018 and it was a real disaster that I considered to never use it again. It used to delete all my bookmarks and to crash constantly and I would have to uninstall it and reinstall it again and I'd loose all my data. And I am afraid to experience this again, that's why I'm not considering to move back to it.

sponsored integration adblock?

sponsored integration adblock?

While watching youtube recently, I came across a streamer's clipping of a Twitch streamer. He was watching some video on youtube. Since I'm a small fan of reactions, I poked at the video and decided to watch it. However, while watching it, I noticed an interesting streak in the guy's video.

This streak indicates some sort of ad integration in the video, which is most likely* detected by AI (Just a guess). After searching all the popular links, articles, and sites on the internet in several languages, I still haven't found this youtube extension in the public domain. Does anyone know anything about it?

If someone could help me

I have the Adblock Pro extension. I would want to download uBlockOrigin, but there’s just no good browser that support it, and because of Apple there won’t be any browsers with Chromium, that’s why I have the Adblock Pro. One problem tho it’s very limited without buying the shitty Premium, so if anyone has it it would be great if you would use my code 2673D1 (https://adblockpro.com/?r=2673D1) I just need three people, I know it’s begging but I’m not really wanting to pay money to the app, so if anyone could help me It would be appreciated, also people who enter a referral code get to unlock one extra feature, so it’s a win-win situation for both. I’m really sorry to bother everyone here with this stupid post, but it’s the only idea I had.

YouTube and "ads" - Need Help

Hello everybody. I originally intended to make this post on the Ublock Origin subreddit, but the Mods there deleted my post. I believe most people here use Ublock due to recent intrigues with YouTube, etc.; but basically, recently (about 3 months ago) I've been having a problem with Ublock Origin on YouTube.

I use Edge Browser and use three extensions: Enhancer for YouTube, Return YouTube Dislikes and Ublock Origin. As previously stated, from 3 months onwards, I have been having a problem.

Normally, when I saw a video in the normal browser tab, but I didn't want to see it in the conventional tab, I always clicked with the right mouse button on the link in "Open link in a private window". With this new error, it would "play" an ad before playing the video. I say it this way because it simply placed a black screen with a loading circle in the center during the ad's screen time, and it didn't give me any option to skip the ad, just this black screen with the circle in the middle. In the bottom left corner, the ad's draft number also appeared, which was usually 15-30 seconds. and when the ad ended, it either redirected in a dry way to the video in question, or it showed a screen with the ad image, a "learn more" button below and the option to skip.

This doesn't happen with static ads; images, which are located in the corners of the site, around the player. These continue to be blocked normally. The problem is only with video ads.

I don't know (or don't remember) if these bugs appeared in the middle and/or at the end of the video, I primarily remember them appearing just before the video started.

I can't update the Ublock extension. I'm on version 1.57.2, and I can't find any place in Edge to update it to the latest version (1.58.1rc11). Earlier today I tried removing and re-adding the extension, but it's always version 1.57.2, no more newer versions. It does not show the option to clear the cache.

Remember how this only happened in the private tab? Not anymore! Today, it started showing this error in the normal tab. That's why I decided to come here. Ublock has support on GitHub, so I created an account only to find out that I need to "give the deeds to my house" because of all the bureaucracy involved in opening a complaint there, so I decided to come here.

I don't know if it's like that here too, but I think Reddit is a safer place to talk about this.

And yes, I know I should use the mega thread (there's a giant post on the Ublock subreddit talking about YouTube problems) above, but I want a faster, more direct answer and to help other people who may be experiencing the same problem . Also, I'm not an expert on this extension stuff. I also don't have that much time to read the mega thread.

Is anyone having this problem too? Is there a solution?

Adblocks Not Working For Youtube

Anyone else having this problem suddenly? Until about half an hour ago, youtube's ads have begun working again despite my extensions (see 1st photo), reloading the page causes this (see 2nd photo). My extensions are a bit messy but the people here are much more knowledgeable on this stuff than me.

If anyone has some insight into this it would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried:

  • Restarting computer

  • Restarting browser (Chrome)

  • Restarting + uninstalling + reinstalling extensions

  • Updating Chrome

What it’s like working on an adblock app startup

I’ve been working on my iPhone, iPad and Mac adblock app, Magic Lasso Adblock for a number of years now.

However the last year was the first year of working on it full time, so I thought I’d memorialise the occasion by writing a Year in Review post. Thought this subreddit may be interested in seeing the issues, fears and successes of running a business based upon an ad blocking app.

Let’s just say it’s not always easy!

As you’re probably aware, one of the biggest issues and time sinks throughout the year was trying to keep on top of YouTube ad blocking issues.

YouTube ad blocking would have been the most stressful part of the year if it wasn’t also for the fact that my app was almost ‘sherlocked’ by Apple introducing an inbuilt Safari ad blocker during WWDC!

It wasn’t all negative however, as I managed to grow the app substantially throughout the year and introduce new features including:

I’ve written up all the details in the full post but am happy to also answer any questions.

Is AdGuard safe?

I just installed my first ad blocker in my phone a while ago. I downloaded AdGuard from https://www.adguard.com (the first website that appears when you search AdGuard.) After the installation, it led me to download its certificate. Then, I noticed a text saying "The network may be monitored" below my phone's clock when I pulled down the notification bar. Later on, I decided to unistall the ad blocker because I kinda feel unsafe for some reason. I cleared its data through my settings before unistalling the app itself and the next thing I did is I removed its certificate. I was still worried because of what if's about my phone's safety.

Is There an Ablock or Extention That Stops Ads Interupting Videos?

Alright, I am sure others have asked this, I have checked but didn't see, unless I missed it somehow.

Is there an advlocker or extention that stops ads from interupting videos, even if they still play before the video begins? I hate many of the ads Google decides to show me, but it's very irritating that those same stupid ads interupt the videos I am trying to watch. I don't mind seeing them play before or after the videos, but it's really annoying when they play during and at random. Is there something that stops ads playing during the videos?

I do use firefox on both computer and phone (although YouTube has been a bitch on my phone, so I have to use Samsung internet to watch videos without the stupid lag and delay in visuals). I also use Adblock Plus on firefox (both computer and phone) and Samsung Internet (which is the only one that blocks ads from playing during videos, but I don't know why that is and only on that one and not on firefox).

YouTube stops buffering the Video after 20 seconds EXACTLY - uBlock Origin, Firefox

Hey,

I've read plenty of those threads, so before I start: Yes, I use uBlock Origin, yes, I use Firefox, no, I don't have multiple AdBlockers enabled at the same time. I'm logged into my account.

Until, I'd say, 5 days ago, that stuff was working just fine, zero problems at all.

But since then, I can't watch videos normally anymore because they simply don't buffer. Exactly the first 20 seconds load, and after that, it just doesn't buffer anymore. And it's always the first 20 seconds – exactly 20 seconds. So definitely not a coincidence.

I've had the infamous pop-up before too, 2 or 3 times, I guess when uBlock wasn't up to date or so. But not in the last 2-3 months.

So, has anyone else here had the same issue until now?

Does anyone know a fix for it? Seems to be very new...

Is Adblock obsolete now?

For the past few months Youtube videos would start with a black screen with that yellow ad bar at the bottom and the video would usually start at 6 or15 seconds because of that. Now for the past 5 days 70 percent of videos don't start at all. I know there was a lot of talk a few months ago about Youtube blocking adblock users, but they seemed to back off from that idea, until now. I'm suspecting that this problem will only get worse.

Another site I use, called WCO dot tv gives you the Adblock detected screen on all its videos, but when I downloaded uBlock origin that doesn't happen at all now and all the Youtube videos work just as well as they did years ago.

Should we all abandon Adblock at this point and never go back to it?

Does anyone know how to fix this problem with Aternos free Minecraft server hosting hub?

I use Opera as my browser, and Aternos senses the built-in ad blocker and makes me wait 3 seconds every single time I click something. Does ANYONE know how I can Adblock on Aternos, and get rid of this 3-second wait?

Which is better AdBlock premium or uBlock Origins

Is AdBlock premium worth it?

I used ninja cookie for the past 2 years, but the extension is not maintained, and sometime cause more trouble than it helps. Also, all popups are annoying, so I am hesitant to switch from ninja cookie + ubo to adblock premium.

What are your thoughts?

Adblock being rlly slow

Lately, I've been noticing that adblock has been a bit sluggish. It's been letting through some annoying ads and trackers, which has been frustrating even tho i have acceptable ads disabled.

I started using HyperBlocker recently, and so far, it seems to be doing a better job at blocking ads and keeping my browsing experience smoother. It hasn't caused any compatibility issues with websites either, which is a big plus.

Has anyone else experienced this with Adblock or other adblockers? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts. And if you've found a different adblocker that's been working well for you, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Need some help with free streaming services

I’ve been trying to find a way to watch a few movies that are exclusive to tubi and pluto tv, but I’ve heard the ads for both are egregious and I’m not really in the mood to watch memories of murder with constant ad breaks. I’ve dealt with Hulu ads because of how they’re timed, but apparently the ads for these free services just kinda appear when they so choose. Don’t really know what to do nor do I know if anything is possible.

same thing was posted about 4 days ago here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Adblock/comments/1dw1lsr/adblock_plus_wont_uninstall/?ref=share&ref_source=link

i'm thinking if this was an adblock+ issue they would have resolved it by now. there are conflicting 'resolutions' for this problem and i'm really unsure as to what should (or can) actually be done.

any help greatly appreciated

Weird problem I'm having with reddit desktop

So I don't know exactly what I did. But when I use desktop reddit, barely any of the images show up even if I click on the post. If I had to wager a guess, I must have blocked a certain ad and now adblock sees nearly all reddit image posts as ads or something.

Help appreciated

Are there any adblockers that spoof watching YouTube ads, so the creator still makes money off my views?

I’ve heard of one that will click normal webpage ads in the background so that advertisers can’t build a profile on you. I forget what it’s called.

I’m looking for one that works on YouTube though. Basically playing the video instantly like with any normal adblocker, but also silently and invisibly playing the ad(s) in the background so the creator gets their $0.000000001 from my view.

Does such an adblocker exist? Is it even possible?

If anyone knows more information about this, I’d be very grateful for your 2 cents

Is it possible to block content based on labelling, for example 'trans'

I want to clarify that I have nothing against anyone and I respect everyone as individuals and what they choose to be or do however, it feels like the West is utterly obsessed with posting about this every day, and it's absolutely exhausting to have to filter it out constantly. It's probably going to be quite controversial given we're on Reddit, but I wish for anything that has 'trans' in it to be blocked immediately and not even appear from any site.

Working Youtube Adblock for desktop, iOS and Android

Working Youtube Adblock for desktop, iOS and Android

Hey everyone, just wanted to re-post this Youtube adblocker as it's had some major updates since I last shared it. We've now got 1080p, live streams & HD downloads.

Lately I've been pretty annoyed as Youtube have successfully stopped most adblockers from working (or they only work sometimes). I'm a bit over reading the adblock threads, deleting my history and cookies, updating my filter lists and all that...

I'm a programmer by trade so decided to try and fix this mess for everyone by making something that just works.

I ended up making a free little plugin called "GoodTube" that I'd like to share with you all.

Here's what it does;

  • REMOVES 100% OF PAGE AND VIDEO ADS. It also blocks server side injected ads.
  • Allows background play (so you can turn your phone screen off and keep listening).
  • Allows you to download the audio / video / entire playlist in up to 8K quality with the click of a button (at the bottom of the player).
  • Works on both desktop and mobile (iOS and Android).
  • Works in all major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc).
  • Proxies in Youtube videos from different servers (in up to 1080p).
  • Removes shorts.
  • Removes unwanted search results ("You might also like this", "Other people also watched", etc).
  • Removes thumbnails for other recommended videos that pop up when a video finishes (I really hate these, try without it's nice).
  • Keeps you up to date, prompting you to update the plugin directly from Youtube when there's a new release. These updates are mostly just new features and minor bugfixes. So far 100% of the time this plugin has worked, so you don't need to update all the time or anything like that.

And it keeps the good stuff like;

  • The beloved algorithm / watch history.
  • Keyboard shortcuts.
  • Subtitles.
  • Chapters.
  • Autoplay.
  • Playlists.
  • Picture in picture / the miniplayer.
  • Theater mode.
  • Live streams.

It's easy enough to install, all the instructions are below.

Here's some screenshots:

https://preview.redd.it/t56tgfe2df9d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=d2f442678d444192e85e7f3030428bb05b415af1

https://preview.redd.it/waxzpvd2df9d1.png?width=386&format=png&auto=webp&s=cd0e8db22e55395e90bc209c3699dad371ceee21

How to install on Desktop

1. Disable your other adblockers. You can do this for Youtube only.

2. Install this browser extension "Tampermonkey":

https://www.tampermonkey.net/

3. Click on this link and press "Install":

https://github.com/goodtube4u/goodtube/raw/main/goodtube.user.js

4. If you're using CHROME
You need to turn on developer mode for this extension. Check out the screenshots below for instructions.

https://preview.redd.it/vzvhun213f9d1.png?width=1177&format=png&auto=webp&s=a7883ce21c642a2210e7c503819e066364c48548

5. If you're using FIREFOX, you need to change the setting in the below screenshot to enable autoplay.

https://preview.redd.it/hh8ivsl43f9d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=c9ded63b141f8566128594a8e7a9674893a1fc23

And that's it. Now you just open up Youtube and should work fine! :)

How to install on Android (mobile)

This will take you a few minutes, because mobiles are generally sort of annoying...

Just follow the steps below and I promise it'll work for you! :)

Just FYI, I've recently discovered that you can also install extensions on normal Firefox, so you may not need to download Firefox Nightly! Other than that, the steps are the same.

  • First off you'll need to install this app called "Firefox Nightly". You can find it on Google Play. (Basically it's an official release of Firefox, but it also allows you to install browser extensions.)
  • Once it's installed, open Firefox Nightly. Now click the 3 dots down the bottom right, and go to "Settings":

https://preview.redd.it/k4rkj7r53f9d1.png?width=390&format=png&auto=webp&s=8e6daafd80d33e3bf71b84ce791019552f288ccf

  • Scroll down and go to "Extensions":

https://preview.redd.it/jrp0r7773f9d1.png?width=390&format=png&auto=webp&s=ab61ffeed78d25658607581d4396db1145725b61

  • Add the extension "Tampermonkey":

https://preview.redd.it/jupxtuf83f9d1.png?width=390&format=png&auto=webp&s=297bd78cd7969dd772e82d57128a801f5b0aa3ff

https://preview.redd.it/wx6ew7h93f9d1.png?width=390&format=png&auto=webp&s=3e1f92415a5595101dcb4fb701de9b764eb0bb18

That's it. You're good to go. Open up Youtube in Firefox Nightly and happy days!!

I recommend using Firefox Nightly just like you would the Youtube app. Put it on your home screen somewhere / make Youtube the homepage for an even smoother experience :)

Please note: If you see a mostly blank screen on the Youtube homepage, don't worry! This is normal. Just search for something.

Simply sign into Youtube and the homepage will be full of your favorite videos once again.

How to install on iOS / iPhone (mobile)

This will take you a few minutes, because mobiles are generally sort of annoying...

Just follow the steps below and I promise it'll work for you! :)

  • First off you'll need to install this app called "Orion Browser". You can find it on the App Store. (Basically it's an alternative browser that allows you to install browser extensions.)
  • Once it's installed, open Orion Browser.
  • Go to Extensions.
  • Install an extension called "Violentmonkey". Do NOT try and use Tampermonkey instead, it doesn't work on iOS.
  • Now go to the following webpage: https://github.com/goodtube4u/goodtube/raw/main/goodtube.user.js
  • Click "Install" on the page the pops up.

That's it. You're good to go. Open up Youtube in Orion Browser and happy days!!

I recommend using Orion Browser just like you would the Youtube app.

Why?

I'll never pay a company that is slapping ads on one of the largest archives of music / film / art in the world and blackmailing me to remove them. They really have a social responsibility that isn't being taken seriously...

So anyway, screw em. Install this little plugin and enjoy no ads 🎉

Other stuff

This took around 5 weeks to create and a thousand black coffees. I hope you enjoy it.

This code is 100% free an open source.
You're welcome to copy and use it however you want with no restrictions.
Here's the Github repo:
https://github.com/goodtube4u/goodtube

If you're a programmer and would like to help out, please get in touch. I have a few questions to anyone with the experience or willingness to help this project.

Any questions, problems, etc - let me know! Peace out homies.

No access to half the sites and youtube but can't turn off my adblock due to distrubing ads

Hi! I have adblock for about 10 years, on all my computers, and this issue was never present. Only in a recent few year, it started to block various sites, making me not able to access them and forced to search for the informations somewhere else. At one point I started to turn off adblock on those sites and it was fine - but it isn't, anymore. For the past few months, I can't access those sites even with the adblock turned off - it still says that I have it on. And the worst thing is that, it blocks me access to the youtube videos - not all the time, there are days when I can access any video, there are days when I can access only a few of them and there are days when the youtube is blocked entirely, not allowing me to watch anything.

I can't just deinstall adblock, because the ads that shows on my computer are almost always creepy, scary and distrubing - they are only about the very ill cgildren or people with the facial and body deformations, droughts in Africa and starved children on the pictures or about the various ilnesses and medications which isn't what I want to see every day too. Deleting this ads and flagging them as something I don't want to see, doesn't work. They are still on the next website or just change to another ones. And so, I am forced to give up haf of the sites plus youtube, but it is really annoying. Like, my fiend sends me link to the music and I reply "yeah, but i don't have yt" and they express how weird it is.

Anyone would help how to fix that?

Failures—What can't block yt ads anymore?

Been seeing a lot of people talk about yt ads getting past your protections and I'm wondering what they've gotten past bc I've yet to get ads at least on mobile.

I haven't tried pc bc I haven't looked at mine in months but I do get ads when I watch on my TV bc I haven't put any form of system in place yet. But the ads I get on there are...questionable.

Anyways...what system has failed you?

YouTube ad-free with just a VPN

YouTube ad-free with just a VPN

Proton VPN just added free & P2P Syrian servers, and by connecting to Syria, you can enjoy YouTube, Reddit, Facebook, and X (and possibly other websites) without ads WHATSOEVER (because no one is interested in advertising there).

This also should work against the server-side ad injection YouTube is testing now. JUST BE AWARE that other websites/ online services (ESPECIALLY FINANCIAL ONES) don't offer their services in Syria, so if you access them from Syrian IP address your account may get flagged or worse, suspended. Spotify and GitHub don't offer their services in Syria so avoid using them while connecting to Syria.

Youtube mixing in tiled ads

Youtube is now mixing in tiled ads with video tiles so they are more difficult to ignore. Do you think it is something Adblock will be able to address?

I would honestly settle for them being highlighted so they are easier to avoid.
