Ublock being detected
YouTube finally detected ublock. Does anyone know what I can do to get it working again or if there are other extensions that still work? My browser is arc.

Had no YouTube ads on iPhone for almost a decade — now they're back. Why?
For nearly 10 years, I haven't seen a single ad on YouTube — not on my desktop, iPhone, or TV. I use Chrome on desktop with every major ad blocker recommended by this sub (uBlock Origin, SponsorBlock, Adblock etc.), and it’s always worked great across all my devices.
But starting last week, ads suddenly came back. They're showing up on my TV and iPhone, while my desktop is still blocking the ads.
A couple of questions for those more in the know:
- Do my desktop ad blockers still help in any way with blocking ads on other devices like TV or mobile? I previously wasn't using ad blocker on my iPhone/TV and it worked fine. I wasn't sure if this was because I was signed in on my google account on all devices.
- Is there a chance this is temporary? I’ve had this happen a few times earlier this year, but the ads went away after a few days.
Thank you in advance.

YouTube masking adblock-blocker via "Something went wrong. Refresh or try again later" error message
![]() |
Im running Firefox with uBlock Origin, Adguard extra script, unHook, Return youtube dislike and Enhancer for Youtube. Outside of that I use Zen for DNS ad-blocking, None of my videos want to play anymore and they all get this error after a min of playback. When I open the link in incognito then it works pretty fine so Im pretty sure this is due to adblocks. I tried disabling uBlock, Adguard Extra and Zen so basically all my adblockers but the issue still does not solve and I do not see anyone else having this problem right now. [link] [comments] |

Kiwi Browser alternative only Firefox?
Without the update support I already started the get issues with Kiwi.
That's why I wanted to ask about any alternatives you found.
I see that there are some alternatives like Edge Canary or Mises Browser, but they aren't as good as Kiwi, Cromite or similar Chromium browsers and I need some time to get used to those.
And I saw that Chromium is going to drop the Ublock origin support in June for mobile Chromium too. Is this true? If yes I won't even bother with those.
It looks like Firefox is currently the only alternative. While I love using Firefox on desktop despite its inferior performance, on Android the performance and UI is even worse compared to Chromium. But I have to accept that if there is no other choice.
I just want to watch porn in peace...

Youtube adblock for non-Android TV

I won’t pay for YouTube premium just to use what was supposed to be free from the start.

Soweit so gut.

AdBlock Plus
![]() |
Adblock Plus is getting as intrusive as youtube now. Mind you, I *PAID* for premium back when it was like $2/mo because it also auto rejected cookie pop ups and adblock detectors. Now they've upped their price and barely work anymore but when I open chrome it, *ironically*, opens a new pop up tab asking for a subscription. I'm sure its been done on this sub before but what are better alternatives to ABP? [link] [comments] |

Can I get your opinion of wipr vs adguard?
NOT advertising either product- I'm just a normal user. I use u block origin on my MacBook since that's pretty much the gold standard. Unfortunately iOS choices are limited to adguard and wipr as far as I'm aware.
- I've used both on my iPhone and they both worked flawlessly, so maybe this question is pointless- But I'm wondering if one has more blocking capability/blocks more trackers than the other? Maybe one uses different blocklists that are superior then the other or something? I read Wipr uses easy list, adguard does as well but for example, adguard has their own privacy filter, while also offering the "easy privacy" supplemental filter....Like is the adguard one superior because it has more rules? I'm a newbie, platform is iOS. Just curious what you guys think as someone that's not super tech savvy. Thank you for reading!

Does anyone know what AdBlock 360 really is, and how I can remove it from my laptop?
A couple week ago, YouTube cracked down on uBlock Origin so I went onto the Chrome Web Store and installed the first thing I found, which was AdBlock 360. I have no memory of uninstalling it afterwards, so it should still be visible in my list of Chrome browser extensions, however when I went to check, it was gone. The little green/red square face still pops up though, and after looking at some posts online I think it might have been some kind of malware. Is there any way to locate and remove it?
I've tried Combo Cleaner before on an older laptop and I found that it wouldn't remove itself after I was done with it, so I'd prefer not to use it.
Thanks

“Sign in to prove you’re not a bot” on youtube
Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post this but wasn’t sure where to ask. I tried googling it a bit and most responses came back saying it had something to do with VPN usage. While I do have a VPN, Mullvad specifically, I very rarely use it and I have never used it while watching youtube. The last time I used it was probably several weeks ago. I’m mainly asking here because I only really watch youtube with Adblock so I wasn’t sure if that is what’s causing it. I typically don’t watch with an account because they started pushing that “account will be deactivated” stuff a few months ago for adblock users.
-
I have a VPN that I use infrequently for non-YouTube purposes. It is not enabled when I’m receiving the message
-
I tried resetting my router
-
Mainly watch via SmartTubeNext on android tv or via Firefox with unlock origin. Receiving the message on phone and android tv on same network. Also receiving message on Firefox using Ublock origin extension.
-
Been happening intermittently for about a week. Will work fine for several hours and then start happening then go away again

Samsung Smart TV and Youtube?
Hi!
is there a working method to watch Youtube without ads on my Samsung Smart TV (QLED Smart Q95TD)? All the methods I have found so far are outdated.
The only two that probably work are:
- Connecting a laptop to the TV and watching through it
- FireTV stick with special youtube app
Is there also a way without any other devices?
Thanks!

Fuck you youtube, just a couple mins ago i got this; I don't trust any other adblocker atm. nice job you greedy corporate bastards, ruin the platform by making people to pay for no ads yet you allow bots and spam into the comment section. legit someone needs to get rid of the person who made this feature, no one wants to pay for this. Yahoo Mail is entirely unusable - any workarounds?
![]() |
TL;DR of the situation is that they're forcing this paid ad blocking plan while saying I have an adblocker enabled; even when I don't. I am now essentially blocked from using my account unless I turn EVERYTHING off and have to get my data tracked. Tbh this might make me completely move off of Yahoo for the first time, ever. uBlock Origin doesn't block Pie Adblocker ads on Youtube?
It's the only ad I ever see on Youtube videos when I'm on my laptop. I tried searching my question on the sub, and apparently Pie ads can come from other extensions? I don't currently have my laptop on me to check what extensions I have specifically- but why is it only Pie ads? Would I see others if I visited more sites? Did I install uBlock wrong or something and I'm just incredibly unlucky on exclusively getting Pie ads??
I've already seen people talk about Pie probably being some sort of scam, but it getting around other ad blockers ... just to advertise...? Easiest way to get me to not use something out of spite.
I'm half convinced it's something I'm doing wrong since no one else is complaining about this specific problem lmao

How is Google disabling my Adblocker? Mechanically speaking.
I understand WHY they are doing it; they want to make ad money. I'm not even bothered with them detecting, and then not showing a video until you whitelist or turn it off.
What concerns me is HOW are they turning off my adblock? I never gave Google read/write access to my computer or my browser.
I could manually disable adblock, and Google seems to detect the PRESENCE of adblock somewhere on my computer and complain about it.
Even if Youtube is whitelisted, it will turn my extensions off, then refresh the window, all without my input.
How are they doing that?

I have noticed this for a long time that my adblocker ultimate on youtube dosent show any ads and works great but sometimes for a paricular period of time like 2-4 weeks it shows ads only form a single advertiser for eg. nowadays i am not getting any ads except for a music album ad.
I was wondering if they are getting paid by some advertisers to unblock their ads.
Just a conspiracy guys.

Is uBlock origin supposed to work?
I never used an adblocker before and figured I’ll give it a try since I recently switched to Edge. And I went with uBlock origin because almost everyone recommended it. Although I’ve read that chrome and edge have stopped the support for these type of extensions. But I just downloaded it and it works like it should, even on YouTube. So what is this all about? Has Microsoft allowed it somehow or what?
On the other hand, I also wonder how good edges built in ”ad blocking” capabilities are, and if I really need uBlock. I’ve set everything on edge to strict and it seems to do a good job, although not on YouTube, this doesn’t matter tho because I got premium. So is an adblocker really needed? Btw, I’m a total pc noob.

Android adblock browser - how to stop it opening new tabs on search?
Some time ago an update changed the address bar/search bar behaviour. Now, every search opens a new tab. It's unnecessary and causing bloat with a lot of unused tabs which should have been updated to the new search.
I'm about to stop using the browser because of it, but reddit is my last ditch effort to see if there is a way to disable this. I've gone through the app settings but it seems like there is not settings menu for any app behaviour at all. Has anyone found a way?

With Youtube getting around AdBlock Plus, I noticed a LOT of ads from Pie. It seemed alright, but felt too good to be true. Doing some digging, I found it has the same creator as Honey. The same Honey that is currently being sued by content creators for shady discounting tactics.
Does anyone know anything more or is experiencing the same? Youtube ads suck, but I'd rather wait them out than use a service from a shady company.

The reddit app ads are driving me crazy
I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub but they're increasing their frequency while remove their variety so it's the same ad again and again I'm thinking of quitting it altogether lol

Chrome Adblocker 2025?
Is there a good adblocker that actually works on Google Chrome, including on youtube ads?
uBlock Origin was disabled completely, uBlock Lite sort of blocks youtube ads but I still have to wait for them to load and press skip, and Adblock Plus just straight up doesn't work on youtube. I am currently using Pie which seems to be working but I was reading on reddit that it's a scam and might be stealing my data?
Is there an adblocker that still works on Chrome and is safe to use?
Edit: uBlock Origin Lite actually works well, you just have to set the slider to the strictest blocking setting.
