AdBlock tab popped up randomly. Is it legit?

Today it happened me two times on Chrome (Windows) that, when i opened a new tab, also a second tab popped up. It told me AdBlock has been updated and suggested as always if i wanted to give a donation. It never occurred to me that AdBlock opened tabs. And surely not two times in a short amount of time. (like 10 hours). Is this legit?
