Targeted ads feel too accurate lately. Which ad blockers should I be using + other tools?

I swear something has shifted with the way ads behave lately. It is not just showing me stuff I searched for anymore. It feels like it knows the kind of day I am having. If I am stressed I get mental health apps. If I am tired I get coffee ads. After an argument I suddenly got relationship therapy ads. It feels too specific and too timely.

The weird part is I am not searching for any of that. I am not posting anything about my mood either. It feels like it is picking up signals from somewhere and I cannot figure out how. I am not trying to go down a conspiracy rabbit hole but it feels different from the usual tracking everyone is used to.

So now I am wondering if there is any way to actually block this kind of thing. Is it just normal ads being smarter or is there something I should be tightening up on my end. Are ad blockers enough or should I be using multiple tools together. Do people combine blockers, privacy browsers, VPNs, or anything else to stop this level of tracking. I am open to learning because this is starting to feel a bit too close for comfort.
