Twitch ad block recommendations that won't freeze the player for Google Chrome

Every ad block and ad block combo ALWAYS freezes the player into an infinite loading symbol with the "blocking ads" on the top right of the player. You can just pause and unpause to immediately resume watching but it's annoying to do every other 30 minutes or so. This happens on Chrome and Firefox
