Anyone got an info on this new Adshield pop up on YT?

I paid for YT premium for a while but they kept showing ads even though they said they wouldn't, so F that! I have been using Adshield, and today after a chrome update I see this - right now, it's playing fine w/o clicking the "update now" and frankly I don't trust Google not to try to catch me by clicking the update now.
