Why does BlockAds score higher than AdGuard on ad-blocking tests?

As a student with limited technical expertise, I’m trying to understand something I’ve noticed: on ad-blocking test sites, BlockAds scores higher than AdGuard, even though AdGuard appears to offer more features, including HTTPS filtering and the ability to use its own CA certificate and it also want a lot of permission.
