I recently made a post asking why people don't use ad blockers often, and some people commented that the internet is only free because of ads which is true fact.
Now my thought on this is that internet ads actually make us spend way more money and manipulates our decisions. If the internet had no ads and we just paid a fee to use it, that fee would probably be much less than the money we currently waste on useless things we buy because of ads.
And the most dangerous thing is that those ads are just not product showcases they are evil manipulation tactics.
I’m not saying this would work for everyone.I know many people can't even afford basic subscriptions like YouTube Premium. But instead of every single app asking for its own subscription, maybe there should just be one general subscription for the internet as a whole. If we had that, it wouldn't even matter whose servers the ads are coming from.
Let me know your thoughts on what would have happened if internet was paid.
